Atlanta rapper T.I. plead guilty to three weapons charges in federal court in Atlanta on Thursday. T.I. will remain on house arrest until his sentencing hearing a year from now.

If T.I. abides by the conditions set forth in his plea agreement, he will receive a prison sentence of one year plus one day. Because the sentence is longer than one year, Harris will be eligible to earn 15 percent time off for good behavior. Harris also was fined $100,000.

T.I. was accompanied to court by his pregnant girlfriend Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, and his entire Grand hustle family. Comedian Lil' Duval and a few others exited the court house with fists raised in victory. T.I. appeared relaxed and relieved as he spoke to the assembled media outside the court house.

The fact that their boss won't spend the next 10 years in jail has lifted the funeral parlor atmosphere around the Grand Hustle facilities.

Well, boring as this is, good for T.I. You live and learn.

  • ChokLitFactory

He got lucky. But one whole year? Thats another year out of his childrens' lives...

  • alana

His new CD is going to be HOTT since he has all this time to write new music...It might be like a triple album or something! Im glad he will at least be there to see his son be born and a year in jail isnt as bad as what he was looking at before.

  • 2bme

let's see 1yr or 25...This is a second chance to act right! Hopefully he has grown and learn from this mess he put himself in..Clifford if you're reading this count your blessings, keep your head up and continue to grow as a man..LEARN FROM THIS if not for yourself, do it for your family and your fans that love you

I was wondering how that was going to work, but I still don't get it completely. I thought he had to go around the country speaking to kids. How's he going to do that on house arrest? Actually now that I think about it I could see how that could work. Just like he has to pay for his in-house correction officer team now, I guess he could take them on the road and being on house arrest, I know he'll be more than happy to do it. No matter how luxurious it is, prison is prison even when you are allowed to have live in booty.

There has never been a limitation on how many kids T.I. can have visiting him. Sometimes he has a house FULL of kids, lol. It's the adult visitors that have restrictions placed on them.

  • claire

Im happy that Ti is not looking at 10 years-I like him and Tiny and all blessings to the family...Ti take this as a hard lesson learned and be careful who you trust...folks hate all day everyday.....

  • ms.peaches

Thats good for him I know he is happy about it!!

  • Mia

Hopefully his lil thug azz learned a lesson and he won't be a repeat offender.

  • Bsoul

I'm surprised he pled guilty. On either of the coasts, lawyers would have been trying to beat the rap.

I guess those southern judiciaries don't play.

  • bloggergirlz

    @ bsoul:

y r u surprised he plead guilty? they caught him red-handed and had a ton of evidence against him...if he would've plead not guilty they would've gave it to him...

  • hellava10

They could have got married while they were at the courthouse.

I'm sorry, I was thinking out loud again.

  • Negrito

Only a year???? considering what he was facing he is DAMN lucky.

I knew he wouldn't do the maximum on this kind of violation because of the money, fame and the lawyers so I was expecting him to get at least 5 years. To get a deal like that...hmm did he snitch on somebody??

  • Minnie

Wish my girl Remy had this team working on her case!
Great for T.I and Tiny and rest of the family.

  • WeezysBaby

    @Ms. Mia

Too late boo the natural born thug is already a repeat offender that is what the hustle was about.. because he wasnt suppose to have any guns being that he was a convicted felon.. and I still say "JUSTICE" was not served oh well...

  • Sharonda

He sure is "lucky." For any other felon, they would kiss their life goodbye. It must be good to be a rapper.

  • Oracle

Minnie said, "Wish my girl Remy had this team working on her case!"

    Didn't she shoot her friend???

  • atlwife

That's not a guest with Alfamega. That's Pastor Troy. Looks a lot different with the dreads and beard.

T.I. is very lucky to receive only a year and a day. He won't even spend the whole year in prison. That's good so he can be there for his kids and fiancee.

  • kdillon

Our justice system is a shame......He had multiple hardcore weapons in his home with his family, and friends. They may have been locked up but you never know what can transpire, especially with children in the house. I understand protecting your family and having a pistol safely safely put away, but machine guns and damn near "Rambo" weapons. IDk, hopefully this is a wake up call from GOD. Good Luck T!

  • MissGauzzz

I'm not sure how I feel about this...I'm glad he's not going to be incarcerated for years and years, but I swear those pics were like this dude was at a modeling shoot instead of a damn courthouse!! I know he's a celebrity but good gracious, are we now glorifying what actually jumped off here! If my son did some shyt like this his ass would be in shackles! I'm just sayin...Please black people do better!

  • kat

    damn he got off lucky!

So everyone at CL is like ohh noo TIP gone for a year, MANNN THATS GOOD COMPARED TO 15 YEARS FED TIME, thats a blessing, he can still come back and have a career and provide for his family, he gets his millionth chance to do what he said on "Praying for Help", so Im happy about this because you only have one life, and everyone isnt going to be as lucky as him, so take the blessing and keep it moving!

  • aqtpie

Damn TIP was lucky as hell, glad things worked out in his favor.

  • Music999

I thought the was finna but TIP under the jail for bout 10 years. I guess money talks and bullish walks a mile. I need his damn lawyers, just in case.

  • LAChick

No luck involved at all here, this is what money will do for you. He hired the best he could and even though they had him red-handed, he is walking away clean imho. He didn't look "dashing" at all to me. My people.

LOL...Just what is Rashan Ali doing??? The girl gotta do her job though if she wants to get the scoop. And it looks as though TI don't mind either. And I am not feeling Elle's purse.

  • mizzdallas

He should married Tiny while he was @ the courthouse, anyway I hope this teach T.I a lesson now he can focus on becoming a better person. Far as Remy, she shoot her friend who supposedly stole $3,000 she deserves to be locked up!

  • free

like judge mathis would say: "who you snitched on?" feds shaft mike vick, who is moneyed up w/no criminal history and throws him in LEAVENWORTH but this dude out posing w/his crew.

the reason i'm hating is because many youngsters are going to see this and think they can do the same thing w/the same consequences.

    Good Morning,
Doesn't make sense to me. I guess they aren't making examples of celebrities anymore... I don't care how much money a person has, they shouldn't be able to get away with stuff that a person with less money couldn't. Justice was NOT served! As far as Michael Vick is concerned, justice was served as it should have been with TI. I hope TI has learned his lesson and is very thankful because I would hate to see him become more arrogant because he beat this case. MY OPINION!

  • sugarandkisses

God Bless and I hope all works out well for T.I because anytime behind bars is to long for me. It's all a sad situation. I agree with everyone..I hope it's a lesson learned. I am still trying to figure out why people are trying to make this post about Tiny? Rather he marries her today or in the next century she is not going anywhere so at this point..WHO CARES! I am so over talking about!

  • H.B.I.C.

Everyone keep saying how "lucky" Tip is, no its not luck its a blessing from God! I'm a huge Tip fan so I hope he learned his lesson from this situation and I wish him the best.

@ #28 Free, I completely agree with you about Mike Vick, they wore his ass out about some stank ass dogs but a convicted felon gets off with a years time? What the f*ck is the world coming to?

  • 2thick4u

I hope that he count his blessings and realize the he can be touched!!!

Much success this new year T.I.P!!

  • h0tsauce

So you can be a 7x Felon..(that he brags about in songs). Get caught purchasing SILENCERS (which are ILLEGAL) and from what I know if you get caught with a GUN that is AUTOMATICALLY FED TIME...and you get OFF with 1 year house arrest and $100,000 Fine???? Not only that 1 Year in JAIL (not prison) from what I heard unless I'm wrong!?!?! Either Way there is no way he should of gotten off that easy!

    Talk about Snitchin and Money!

I will however say Good Luck to him because he has 5-6 kids that he should be focusing on. But JUSTICE was not served.

  • free

h.b.i.c., lil kim lied on the stand and got a year and a day. something ain't right.

  • milly

Man he has great lawyers, I'm glad they worked out a plea deal for him and a great one at that! anything having to do with the feds is risky trying to fight, and thats especially if they have stacked up evidence against you.

  • Mz_Magnificent1

Thank you Sweet Jesus...I am so happy for TI and his family!!!

  • kitty4shigady

I am happy for tip and tiny i am glad that he will be able to see his son being born. Tiny got so big ole boobs lol she look good though they all look happy. GReat pics sandra My son Is the biggest TI fan and he asked me what happen I told him Sandra will have all the info and i I will get it for you so sandra on behalf of my son thanks for the update.

  • Krysi – yes the same one

Well Tip is obviously doing something right, somewhere deep down in his heart for God to be showing so much favor on him. If God is pleased we should be the same and let the man be. He got off, scott free, and thats that. It was the will of God. Should he slip again God will be there again to remind him of how powerful he is and he will continue to be humbled until he gets it right. Anyway congradulations to Clifford and the Fam, and I can't help but add that T.I. is a lil handsome son of a b*tch aint he?

  • cinnamonkisses97

I am so happy for T.I. and Tiny .

  • Maxdan

I think I'm about the only one who is sick and tired of T.I.
Thanks to the grace and mercy of God he gets away with a light weight deal. I still don't think he deserves praise like it's something grand he did to justify his actions. The homeboys raising their fist in the air like justice was served. Well not really. If you play in the dirt you get dirty. He better count his blessing and sit at home thinking real hard about change. HELL...I would PUT MYSELF on house arrest for another year to avoid nonsense.

  • Doganr

T.I got off easy. This just goes to show you what you do in the dark will eventually come to in the light. Now all I wonder is after prison will he be able to leave this "ghetto mentality" in the hood? Probably not, but there is always hope for change...maybe after exchanging "butt darts" with his cell mate that might knock some common sense into him!!

  • omina-homina

It is kind of unfair that he got off easy, but it's nice that he won't be locked away so long that he can't watch his kids grow. I'm so glad for the kids. And I think he learned his lesson here, genuinely.
