I see nothing wrong with this baby’s wash and curl set. Mamas should teach their babies a sense of pride in their own hair while their young. At least she doesn’t have a head full of basket weave extensions.

I don’t think its a wash and curl. Some babies are born with natural waves/curls. All you need is some grease and brush.
All I know is that baby is adorable and I want to pick her up and kiss her!
The baby is absolutely adorable — however, that syle is not age appropriate at all.

She didn’t need her her done by a beatuician..unless the mother doesn’t know how to comb a girl’s hair….I can relate to that…my only child is a boy, and me being in the middle, my sister was always the stylist…LOL
I don’t understand what a “good” grade of hair is… Hair is hair. And that style is way TOO grown on her. It’s kind of ghetto to have such a “grown and sexy” look on a baby. But to each it’s own. There are plenty of ways to style a child’s hair. Kids should look their age.
But she is an extremely adorable baby. I wish I could pick her up and kiss her on her little cheeks… ahhh…
A good grade of hair is hair that can be swept down and put in place like the picture without puffing and curling up with the slightest bit of humidity.
Good hair is hair that grows on your head..ask someone that’s bald what type of hair they prefer….

Now I know yall don’t believe for one second that somebody actually took this baby to “Snips” and got her hair “did”. LOL Somebody was just playing in that baby’s hair and brushed it like that possibly after they bathed her, washed her hair and lotioned and baby oiled her down.

I didn’t know that if hair puffed up (because of humidity) that it meant it isn’t a good grade of hair… I thought that whatever hair texture the Creator gave you was good. That baby would be cute whether she had puffy hair or curly hair.
pre-con-gel and a roller set! she is such a cutie pie! that’s how we do it! if you put a barrette in it, it will make it look a little more childlike. i keep thinking little richard or eddie murphy on dreamgirls.

I was simply being honest, now if you want me to lie I will. That girls hair does not lay down smoothly to her head, It looks very hard to comb and hard to style, All children have easy hair to work with, but she’s not one of them.
I did it for you MZN, cause it for d*mn sure wasn’t for GOD. He does not expect you to care what hair he gives you, he makes you just the way he wants you to be, this is true, my hair is nappy az hell, which is why i thank GOD for the woman who invented perms. This child is no more than a victim of a family that adores her beauty and enjoys playing in her hair. The picture was probably just snapped because she’s a cutie not for a hair book entry. Its really not that serious, sometimes you just have to face the facts. The facts are there are different textures of hair. Fiction is that all hair is easy to deal with and style without proper treatment and training.

I used to play in my little boy’s head when he was a baby all the time, put wigs on and everything. But I was just playing. I wouldn’t take him out somewhere with a toupee on. I had better sense than that. Obviously this child’s mother was doing the same: playing with her little girl’s hair.

OMG, first of all it’s just hair. I don’t know how brushing it smooth across the front and leaving it curly up top equals GROWN. She is OBVIOUSLY a little a$$ baby with a nice/managable texture that is less coarse than others. The secret is to see how her head is looking at about age 1, 2, and 25. She is TOO CUTE!!!
It’s doing too much if they put gel in her hair.
My niece is freakin Puerto Rican/Mexican/Caucasian/BLACK and she came out the womb with a head full of hair and a Halle Berry looking cut. So now is she looking 12 years old? NOOOOOO
At least she isn’t a little BOY with pony tails cause black folks try to hold onto the little bit of hair we could see grow on a head (LONG) and do cornrows and whatever else. Now that is ghetto as hell.

I know that as BP especially, we have different textures of hair. But there is no such thing as good or bad hair. Just like there is no such thing as nappy hair. Nappy equals bad and I don’t play that. We as a people are very unique individuals. From our physical beings to our mental. I haven’t had the chance to read the comments here. But so far I have received 3 emails from people claiming to be the parents of this adorable baby. One man claiming to be the father said my readers were making negative comments about the baby. I would hope my readers aren’t making negative comments about this beautiful baby.

To eaches own You have your hair and I have my NAPS..I don’t hate my hair I love it, I just love it more when its easier to damn comb. I ain about to put on a front for no afican culture or to cut ties of slavery and its so call mental authority over black people cause i was born in 1981 and I didn’t witnessed african culture straight from the motherland nor was i appart of the slave trade. I grew up as an african american where you are taught to keep your hair up because it looks nice, I was not told that it was offensive to my roots. I was never told there was anything wrong with being nappy headed either, basic instinct told me my head hurted when it was combed without a perm, so i got one and i haven’t been tender headed since.
Yall talking bout good & bad hair makes me think of the scene in School Daze when they did that lil song & dance # with Tisha Campbell(lol) That baby is just too gorgeous & her hair was probably just washed I hope & pray her mom didn’t put any chemicals in it like gel or whatever cause as you can tell she doesn’t need it like someone said we all have different textures of hair & that may be cause we are all not 100% black you should think about that as well my son is 2 & has the long, straight hair me on the other hand needs a Bantu every now & then LOL!!!

I have the same grade of hair since loosing my hair due to chemotheraphy used to treat breast cancer. I can go to bed with my hair pulled back and wake up with it curled like I roller set it. It is most definetly the grade that will do the cutest styles without the least bit of effort. She is absolutely beautiful.

While we are on the subject of hair. Growing up I have heard the word nappy used by black people, whether friends, family, strangers, acquaintances, etc., and have used it in the past. And I never knew it was a slur until Imus used it. It does have a negative connotation, but for me, the use was just a ‘fact of life’ term. Some hair is nappy and some isn’t. Anyone consider it a slur?
Why couldnt momma say, I bet this would look cute, ohh it does, I’m going to take a pic. Awww cute pic, let me email this to so and so. Now it’s on the net causing a big debate. I have a son, when he was that age, I would change his clothes, play in his hair. He had nice soft curly hair I would slick it to the side like a toupe, part it down the middle like the 20’s and all kinds of ish just because.

I finally get to comment the 70+ people adored by my daughter. You guys gave my daughter’s photo more comments then the big time celebs have on this site! Anyway…
I took this pic of her when she was 5 months old. I gave her a bath, lotioned her up, and decided to do something different with her hair. We were chillin in the house and I took pics of her with her new do. I didnt use GEL, PERM, WEAVE, or EXTENSIONS in her hair. All I needed was water and a comb/brush. She had that texture hair that allows for minimal additives/chemicals in order to style it in that way…and she still does have similar hair. She is now 15 mths and has tons of hair for those who said she prob won’t have much hair since she had so much as a baby. She’s not GHETTO or going to be raised ghetto as some people suggested.
Also, I NEVER sent her picture into this site. Someone must have taken the pic from my myspace page and decided to send it in for their own foolish reasons.
For those that don’t know her, her name is Taylor Dior…she is a model and now actress in NYC. She will be in the new movie “NOTORIOUS B.I.G.” this January, playing the role of Biggie’s first daughter. So if you were all so taken by this photo of her, look for her on the big screen.

Ummm hair down your back when your hair on your head grows outward and not downward means your hair unless straightened will not be down your back.
I do not indeed know that God was not including me and mine in the crown and glory comment. I think you saying so is hateful and its sad that you and others so hate what you were given by God. BTW, if I pressed my hair, no way I would ever put a perm in it, but if I did, it would be just about the middle of my back. But I don’t like it straight, too boring.

I agree with you, and straight hair on BW is so boring! I like anything unique. We stand out as a people, why be ashamed? The problem is a lot of BW can’t take care of their natural hair because they never took the time too! If there were never any perms or pressing combs we would have no choice but to learn, so therefore, it would be easier to take care of.
okay well i think wearing natural hair is boring….what can you do with it besides wear it the way that it is naturally? I can do all sorts of styles in my hair now that its permed. Why do i have to be ashamed of that??! And the woman who invented perms didn’t ask for the wisdom she was given to invent it….it was just that given to her…..and there are many people of all races that are greatful for the invention, we aren’t the only people who get perms….so I guess every damn body is ashamed white people too for wanting their hair to be curly all the time instead of straight. On another note,
I like BW with natural hair. TO ME it looks much better, it makes us look younger, we can do more with it. You say you can do more with straight hair, which to me is not true. If BW take the time to come up with creative hairstyles with their natural’s, we would have a broad range of hairstyles to choose from.
That’s just my opinion. I know that not all BW would go natural, and that’s their business. Honestly, they’re not me, so I could care less…
