Remy’s wedding canceled: Papoose caught smuggling handcuff key into jail
No one can say rapper Papoose wasn’t ready to ride-or-die for his fiancee Remy Ma. On this, the special day of his and Remy’s prison nuptials, Papoose had something heavy on his mind.
Before leaving home this morning, he double checked to make sure he had everything: wallet (check), ring (check), Holy water (check), handcuff key… WTF?
- Remy Ma jailhouse nuptials were abruptly called off Monday when her rapper groom Papoose showed up with a most curious wedding present: a handcuff key.
“A wedding was scheduled today and a visitor to that wedding service was found to be in possession of jail contraband so the wedding was canceled,” a corrections official told the Daily News.
“The key that was found today easily opened handcuffs that we and other law enforcement officials use,” the official said.
The Brooklyn-born Papoose - real name Shamele Mackie - won’t be able to see his fiance now until November.
“The visitor was sanctioned by not being able to visit Rikers Island again for 6 months,” the official said. “He was asked to leave.”

If she could whip his ass right now she would. Six months is a long time. It was basically a business marriage. She needs a legal husband to care for her child while she is locked up.

Unless they believe he is really that dumb and he convienced them that he wanted to concimate(sp)his marriage, and was not thinking when he brought the key to handcuffs with him. He can say ” I forgot to leave the key at home. We always handcuff each other durning sex”. lol. If his only punishment is that he can’t get married and can’t visit for 6 months I say its fair enough. He has more problems with her being pissed at him for stupidy.

Wow Papoose must really be in love. He was willing to put his freedom on the line for this woman. I think that when 2 people are this much in love then they should not be apart. The powers that be at Rikers should help them by giving Papoose a matching orange outfit similar to Remy Ma and let them be together in ajoining cells. Best wishes.
