Aww congrats, it only took her forever

  • iyonah

    Awwwwww he is adorable.

I don't get the fascination over going overseas when there are plent of children right here in the good ole USA.

(Sigh) Congrats to her, it did take forever.

I RESPECT ANYONE WHO ADOPTS. GOD BLESS THEM.

  • LAChick

Perez sucks so bad can't believe he is your news source...really? ugh..

  • shunda

Well congratulations. I think people adopt children over seas because they do not run into as many legal issues as they do here in the states. With the exception of Madonna's case. We have friends that got a little girl from China and the mother's there do not have time to change their minds. I believe in the US they have 3 months. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Don't grab anything from that racist site Sandy.

the reason why some of these ``white`` celebs go to africa to adopt because alot of them feel like those kids are more needy than the average american kid..i mean lets face it this country has spent $500 billion is less than 6 years on an unecessary war,if that much money to spend they might as well use it for social endeavors if at all the government has the desire to do so, also we shouldnt forget these are private initiatives , angelina jolie and madonna are not assking for anybody`s dollars to adopt whatever baby they want, hence they can spend their money the way they want to

Well i will say this.... Im a fan of adoption... Im just not too sure about this adoption. I saw an interview with that little boy's daddy and i truly dont believe he knew what he was signing when he signed over the adoption papers. I truly believe in my heart that he thought he was signing papers for his son to come to the US to get medical treatment and if he was fooled and behooved then.. that is not right!!!!!

  • african_dude

i meant to say ``if we have that much money``

  • LovelyLady

    Side Note:

I am for anyone who adopts because me myself, I am adopted. But i have been following this story for quite sometime now. My thing is did she adopt a baby because he was "black" and from over seas and she thought it would give her credit in hollyweird. I mean I understand Angie Jolie adopting different races because she has always said before she had her biological child that she wuld adopt from all ova da world and wants all races. As soon as Angie adopted anotha child all these celebs want to adopt kids from over seas. I'm telling yall being pregnant with twins, and adopting from overseas is the new most have accessories in hollyweird.

But I guess if it gives the kids a much betta life then they had before it's fine.

  • iyonah

Don't get me wrong, I think adoption is great. There are children all over that need to be provided with love and care from a famil. However, it seems like its a something to do in Hollywood, but I guess not. I am not really familiar with who adopted which child from where, all I know is that w/ this particular one it seemed like the father wasn't aware of what was reall happeneing.

Its all done NOW, I hope that the child is alright. At that age I am sure he knows who his father is and being away from him has an IMPACT.

Dat's what I'm saying........I have been following this story to.........and in Africa the adoptions are much easier...............most people "with money" don't have to go thru half the stuff they go thru in America to adopt.

Regulations only stipulate that prospective parents undergo an 18-to-24-month assessment period in Malawi, a rule that was bent when Madonna was allowed to take David to London.

"Hopefully, after we get through this adoption, it will be easier for people to adopt children," Madonna said.

    But the boys father said.
“Had they told us that Madonna wanted to adopt my son and make him her own son, we would not have agreed to that. It would have been better for him to continue staying at the orphanage because I see no reason why my child should be given away forever when I can feed him.”

She adopted this child fast. usually no matter where it at LEASE takes a couple of months. Did she have an album coming out or something that made her bend laws and others can't

Good for Madonna going out and adopting all these black kids but really and truly what will she be able to teach him as he grows older. At the end of the day she's a white woman and he's a black child, she really will never be able to teach him anything about his black roots.

for someone to teach a kid about his black roots he/she doesnt need to be black, he needs to be knowledgeable of the history of black folks, the average black person in this country dont know sheeeit about our own histry so will that make him a good history instructor if he/she adopts? i dont think so!

I co-sign to the fullest. It's just seems like a trend like a new bag. This just reminds me of when everyone was getting those pocket ppoches and those designer carriers. However if a child can benefit from it sobeit. There are soooo many children of color in the foster care system and it's just sad but you know we Americans always take care of outsiders before our own anyway.Shery Crow adopted a baby from the U.S. though b/c she said there are too many kids here that need homes so I applaud her for that.Side note Madges "son" looks fresh to death unlike the gorgeous Zahara who can't get Angelina to run a comb thru her freakin head.

  • pinkvirgo

FYI: I hate Perez he's disgusting, foul, and not funny.I don't know how he became famous!

  • Anna

Madonna went to Africa and fell in love with the little boy. She adopted him but Davids dad only knew her as "the rich white lady who wanted to raise my son". He did not give his son up for adoption but who would think a child has a parent when he is living in a orphanage? He did sign the papers out of fraud and duress.

  • Dizz

Why does anyone care about Madonna does in her life??? Some people act like someone came in thier window and stole thier child. If she's providing a home for a child who most likely would not have survived (he had Malaria when she saw him, how is this a BAD thing??

  • http://www.myspace.com/bettathaniwasb4 2bme

Like she had a choice but to stay in fight for him, her image was at stake. Although David is growing up as an icon's child..I pray she does him justice by teaching him his culture

  • prynsexxx

I applaud anyone who adopts children not for self-gratification or sole praise, but to do it from their own true inner heart and unselfish reason. I think it's wonderful. We need more caring ppl like foster and adoptive parents.

But I will say this, my co-worker adopted 4 children and I really thing she is a child-hustlin, money-hungry fat b!tch!Real talk. She keeps the kids in "therapy", which I think she does that to "sound rich". Therapy?...b!tch catch a d!ck. She has these kids on Prozac and some other crap. And she parades it around EVERYDAY like that's the new IN thing to do. She adopted a "bi-racial" child and acts like someone is suppose to bow at her feet when she makes mention. Miss me.

  • browni007

That lil boy is handsome. My old office manager (white) adopted two children 1 from cambodia and the other - I think from Mexico (not sure) - anyway - it is easier to adopt younger children from outside the U.S. - the lil boy was a baby and the lil girl was under 12 months at the time. Lil girl came with a host of medical problems and is doing ten times better today. I am all for adoption, but what happens to the dozens of children that are older and need positive influences such as my old co-worker and not child-hustlin people. I want to/wanted to be a foster parent, but was denied, because "we didn't have a separate room for the children". (At the time my children and I shared a room) - My mom and I live in a 3 bedroom home. We will definitely look into it again. It's not easy, but we can try.

    @ african_dude

do you really think she'll take the time to teach him though?
