Usher: ‘It’s hard staying faithful to Tameka’
Awhile back I told you about some credible information I received from a source who indicated Usher was still the same ol’ Usher as far as the ladies are concerned.
But I decided not to reveal the information to spare loyal reader Tameka Foster-Raymond the pain of knowing that her man is out there doing what a man does naturally.
Usher seemed to confirm as much when he spoke to Cosmopolitan magazine recently: “I’m good at making love, but I’m not good at being in love. It’s a conscious decision every day to love the person you’re with.”
In my opinion, once a man makes the noble gesture of taking a bride, he shouldn’t have to make a conscious decision or an effort to be faithful to his wife. That should come naturally if he really loves her. His wife should be the center of his Universe. I’m from the old school of thought that says people marry for love and commitment.
It takes a level of maturity to put down the toys and be a man. And Usher has proven that he is not up to the challenge.
Sorry, Tameka.

I do agree but maybe he believes his wife is the center of his city not universe and once he goes out of his city, he can’t control himself… Maybe the reason why he is defending Tameka in most of his interviews is to show her the love he has for her… He needs to man up cause cheating is WACK.. This is why us men who have kids need to stick around and teach our children how to recognize when you’re ready for marriage. It is such a deep commitment that nothing in life could prepare you for it, and that is a regular marriage. If I was under the same microscope as Usher, I’m sure the pressure would get to me too. I think if he really wants a successful family, he needs to take some time off from the music business. Family can be the strongest foundation in life after God. I hope he makes the right decision.
Man-Tika just needs to get it in her head Usher only married her ass for that child. You best believe he and Keri Hilson’s chemistry was too good in that video and I believe if circumstances weren’t where they are he would have pursued her.
I’ve been an avid fan of usher for years..I tend to keep my ear to the ground on a lot of things pertaining to celebrities and he is no exception. What i’ve come to realize is usher is a hopeless romantic. He’s in love with love and it’s a novelty for him, however with most novelties the thrill of it wears off. Usher is more intuned to being a daddy then a husband, because he lacked growing up with one. marrying Tameka was an obligation, i’m not doubting his love for her but his level of maturity is suspect in itself. He once said he would wait until he was 35 to make that plunge and it’s painfully obvious that he should have…however in watching his Truth DVD he also stated he would give up a relationship because of all the ones his mother gave up for him..since he’s not good at keeping his word one shouldn’t expect him to keep his libido in check either.
Amen! SR! It takes a man to be a husband, not a little boy that has to make conscious attempts to stay faithful!

Um, maybe Usher should put his business life a little back on the back burner, and focus on being in love with his wife and his sons (step) and find out how love really works in a committed relationship. If he still thinks that it’s hard to maintain a committed relationship, he should have held back on marriage. Marriages these days are about as loose as the whore houses in Vegas…

I totally agree with you. Any person that has to second guess him or herself was obviously not ready for marriage. Marriage is no longer sacred. People feel as though divorce is the back up plan (i.e. if it doesn’t work out I will just get a divorce). It’s a crying shame.

Well that is the reason why he kept bringing up Tameka all the time. It’s like he was tryto convince us first and was hoping we would go for it but we didn’t and now he is trying to convince him self that he really wanted to get married. Marriage is a beautiful thing if it is with the one God had planned out for you. If it is not in his plan then you just wasted your time and hers!! wtf? How do you have to make a conscious decision to love someone or be in love with someone? Hell, either you love them or you don’t. Real love is nothing that you should have to concentrate on or think about. It should be as natural as breathing or farting. If you love someone when they get on your last nerve or they’re always nagging or always up in your face, that’s real love and you can’t help it even if you tried. Usher needs to get a clue.

It seems Tameka may have had the same problem with her first husband and now that Usher married her, I’m wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not thinking she may do the same to him. Or maybe Tameka does know, she doesn’t strike me as a dipstick living in la la land.
I think she may have looked at marrying Usher as a power move, not that I doubt their love for each other.

You know, I have adored Usher since 1994, but I like him even more when he just shuts up his d*** mouth! The only time he really needs to open it is to sing. You can’t knock him for that. However, the ignorant comment he made about Chilli was immature. Then to come back a week later and say something to belittle his wife, is way beyond me. I honestly think he thrives for attention and maybe Tameka was the one female that fed his little ego and that’s why he fell so hard for her. H***, I would have stayed with Ryan and not jumped ship to be with this little boy! Sorry Usher, but I gotta keep it real. Grow up, man!

IN terms of Tameka we all know that he wants to be a FATHER to his son and do what is considered “RIGHT”. Its only a matter of time before he cheats and it all gets exposed. It will all happen soon. You are soooo right. Chilli was wrong for those comments. Women can be REALLY spiteful at times. It’s over girl, MOVE ON. Chilli definitely lost some cool points with me for that.

Though I think Usher looks like a little troll, I will say this.
I don’t think he was saying its hard being faithful to his wife. Love is not always this ga ga goo goo feeling. You make a decision to love someone - through good times, bad times, times they hurt you, you hurt them, etc… I think that is what he was meaning when he said it is a conscious decision. It’s a conscious decision, because its so easy to say you don’t love a person anymore when they f*** up.
Infatuation causes the ga ga goo goo of love. But the decision to love someone, no matter what, is what keeps a marriage together.
And yes, I am married - have been for 4 years, so though I am still relatively new to the scene, I can speak on it some.
It is a concious decison to love someone and remain faithful to them. There are temptations that people face everyday, especially married people. You have to make a conscious decision, based on the love you share to remain faithful to anyone. I don’t think he meant anything negative, just being honest and real.
I am married and although faced with many alternatives to my spouse, I decide that I remain loyal to the vows and spouse I chose. Yes..loving someone is “supposed” to be natural when you marry someone but,anyone is kidding themselves if they believe effort and work is not required!

I can tell there are only three married people on here…ladies believe me it does take a countious effort to stay faitful and married by both men and WOMEN. Comments like these are probably why the divorce rate is so high, becsuse people have this fairy tale idea of Marriage. In the vows it says for better or worse if there would be no worse it wouldn’t be in there. What are you talking about, only in Cinderalla, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, can you believe that once the man says “I Do” it turns off the unfaithful switch. That is why marriage is a struggle. If it wasn’t everyone would have their fairytale romance/relationship. His words were more than mature, because he is right…It is a “Conscious” Effort to do the right thing…Like SINNING!!
