According to CBS2 Chicago, a handgun has been found in a vacant lot near where the body of Jennifer Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, was found in a white SUV:
Sources say police arrived at the scene at about 1 p.m. Wednesday after getting a tip that the white SUV was seen driving through the vacant lot over the weekend, and someone saw a gun being thrown from the vehicle.
“When I heard it on the news, I said Kolin — that’s where I saw the truck come and park,” said Lawndale resident Amanda Archie.
CBS 2’s Vince Gerasole reports that Amanda Archie is one of several Lawndale neighbors who report seeing the SUV drive through the neighborhood throughout the weekend.
“I was sitting right there on the corner, they turned and went toward Roosevelt road and when I looked in my mirror a few minutes later, the truck was coming back,” Archie said.
“We was just scared at first cause the first time it drove past, it stopped and looked at us, then went back around the second or third time,” said Lawndale resident Destiny Jones.
Area residents told CBS 2’s Dorothy Tucker that they saw the SUV in the area three or four days ago, but did not connect it to the case. They also said they saw two men inside the SUV. (Source)
