By now you’ve all heard about the 8-year-old Arizona boy charged with shooting his father and an adult boarder to death.
The video shows the police interrogating the boy without a child advocate present.
To those who say he was too young to know what he was doing, consider this: the 8 y/o got off his school bus, entered his home, loaded a rifle, shot his father, called his dad’s boarder into the house and then shot him too.
Then he walked over to a neighbor’s house — not to confess to what he did, but to alert the neighbor that he just found his father dead. In between all of that, he fabricated lies to cover his tracks.
Listen as he tells the police interrogator he saw a car “drive away real fast” from the house as he arrived. He describes the car in great detail.
Those actions suggests premeditation on his part.
At the end of the video, Greta informs us that the boy eventually confessed to the murders, but we don’t get to see the confession.
How does an 8-year-old gun down two grown men and then coolly fabricate lies to cover his tracks?
According to online reports, the boy and his father were avid hunters. It’s a fair assumption to make that this boy is a sociopath who was born without a conscience.
The 8-year-old will be tried as an adult.

this is sad. i too believe he knew what he was doing. he knew enough to try to lie his way out of it.
This case has loopholes. Although he is 8 he was never read his Mirada Rights (which he would not understand anyway), he did not have counsel/parent present while being questioned.
i didn’t realize he would be tried as an adult…someone should’ve been present while the police were interrogating him…
this case is going to get thrown out because of the actions (or lack there of) of the police…

I am on the fence about this. Either the boy is a sociopath without a doubt, or the police led him into a false confession. It happens everyday with adults and it can easily happen with a child. Where was his lawyer during the interrogation? His mother? I’m not convinced yet that he’s so guilty.

I hope he gets the help he needs. & I don’t think he should be charged as an adult. While he may have done a horrible crime and lied about it he is still a child. Newsflash!! Children lie about things that will get them in trouble.
When ever I reflect over my life I always say “damn I was young doing dumb shyt but thought I knew it all.” When I didn’t. You just don’t know until you’re looking back on it. Learned.
I think there is more to the story. True, he could very well be a sociopath, but also it may have been something more sinister. It is truly amazing no one in this boy’s family has come to speak out on his behalf or anything. That right there should tell you something. His family does not have to condone his behavior, but NO ONE has came out and said he was disturbed or anything.

In my god baby’s case she tests in all of the advanced placement courses is smarter than you would ever believe.. But probably once every 2-3 days it is like she breaks from reality and goes crazy, I know her mom has tried everything to help her… But nothing is working. She was kicked out of the second grade for drawing a picture of the counselor with a knife that said dead… 
i think i said “don’t be a dummy…this is your chance to skip.”

I truly believe that there is somethimg more to this story. I beleive in my hear that are going to find out that this young boy was molested by those adults and if so they got was coming to their assess. I hope the dont charge he as an aldut, but give him help he needs (i.e counseling for being abused and killing his father). This young boy needs a strong advocate at this time. Not a crucification by the police and adults that are not looking a root of this problem! My heart goes out for this young child:-(
Oh no @ Houstar. We don’t play that crap! Threats against authority?!!! Oh hell naw! Trust me, my daughter will NOT pull that ANYWHERE else outside of the doors we reside in. She’s too damn scared! She’s too scared to get sick @ school, for fear of them having to call me.
We don’t eat pork, and she has braces. So what did she do one day. She snuck and ate a “fruit snack”, KNOWING that it had swine in it and that she isn’t suppose to have THAT stuff, not only b/c of the swine factor, but because I take major responsibility in maintaining her braces (plus I’m still paying for those b!tches)! Well, she began to choke and threw up all over the hallway. So she took it to the hilt and went all into an “asthma attack” type spell, cuz she KNEW, it was about to be some mess. They called me and told me what happened and to “come get her”. My response “put her on the phone”. She gets on there “gasping”. I was like “I’m on my way” - *click*. I get to the school, she laid out on a cot like she they just took her off of a respirator. FAKIN’! I gave her a look like “the minute you catch yo’ breath”. And we left. LOL
Yes every 2-3 days.. there is no consoling her no getting her to calm down, She was sent to the alternative school in 1st grade, then this year in the second grade they threatened her with the police she was suspended 5 times and now she is back in the alternative school. She threatens her mom with she will call the police on her if she touches her, tells her she will kill her. Some therapists think it is ODD Obsesive Disruptive Disorder.. BUt I dont know if I believe in that disorder. It is almost like something takes over her body.. My friend has finally gotten over the denial, but she is at wits end as to what to do…

So sad for all involved. (There are way too many guns in America and in the hands of children.) Also, I think there is way, way more to this awful story. Maybe the 8 yr old was molested, mentally/physically tortured? What else would make such a young child shot his father, what, 2 times then load the gun again? And to kill his friend also? Sandra I think it’s due to letting an 8 year old hunt…I mean come on. That and video games like Grand Theft…some kids play these games so faithfully that reality merges with the game. There is no real life punishment for killing people in the game…you run away a few blocks and wait for police to lose you….kids are too young to play games like this and surely too young to hunt. I just heard about another kid that got his head blown off by his twin brother after the father took them hunting…they were 8 or 9 but they came home and were curious and loaded the shot gun without the father’s consent….as the twin loaded it he accidentally shot his brother…kids are too young for stuff like that. You wouldn’t catch me playing with a gun and I’m 25 years old…hate guns.

LOL - I don’t charge a thang. I love to give “advice”, but I will NEVER tell someone HOW to raise their child. Especially if I can’t “lay hands on them”. I wouldn’t say that I’m the “greatest mom” in the world. But my child is raised with manners and morals. PERIOD. I’m not going to sit up and say that she hasn’t driven me to crying on the shoulders of friends, family, supervisors and counseling, because I have. But then I took back my mind and my child. I REFUSE to let a child get the better of me.
There could be many factors that play in the role of your God-child acting as she does. It could range from anything like the DNA/family history all the way to the food that she eats. When a person or child is sick (physically or mentally) they sometimes don’t know how to express it. They may cry often, or “act bad” and you never know or suspect that it could be something as simple as the food is put into their body. I am a mother after my childs heart. I pray for her mind on the regular. There is a history of mental illness on HIS side and mine. I fear for her at times. But I empower her with knowledge that is beneficial. We pray. We have candid conversations. We literally wrestle. We watch Jeopardy and make it a duty to answer at least 3 questions or more correctly. We eat dinner together w/o media interference. We experience different things, places, operas, vacations. We don’t set “goals”, we make “to do lists”. Goals can be accomplished, and then what. “To do lists” keep on growing. Name brand clothes, shoes, videos, cellphones, Christmas, all that stuff is NEVER an issue in my home. Education, financial freedom, good credit, paid bills, respect, determination, the fear of The Almighty and clean underwear are!
I apologive for the rant. I’m going to stop here!

YES I DO and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Some of those kids use that place as a revolving door. Sometimes they are treated better there, than at home (if there is one). I only go in on Sunday’s. Two weeks ago, there was this girl there. She was in the 10th grade and pregnant. As SOON as I walked in, AND SPOKE (saying hello to a child or anybody, can make a world of difference - anywhoo) the first thing out of her mouth was “YOU COOKIN’ TODAY”. That’s because I make sure that they have a “SUNDAY dinner”. I cook with love, so the food turns out extra good. (I don’t want to toot my own horn……..but…….toot-toot). Anyway, I helped her fill out an app. Well, the lil “fast girls” are always trying to get the boys attention. Well, lil preggars, piped up and said to one of the lil girls “Girl, he can’t afford nobody in here. He can’t afford me. I shop at (yall get this), Dots, Aeropostle, Old Navy, Steve and Barry’s”.

Don’t get me wrong, AIN’T nothing wrong about where somebody get what they get, but she said it like it was for real high class. I’m thinking to myself, “That is all this child has to aspire to, what about her baby.” Keep in mind her lips were glossed up and she had on earrings…….but her hair was standing up on her head(arrrgggghhhhhh). I hate to see young (pregnant)women with their hair standing up on their head. My child KNOWS better! I told her I will come back from the grave and haunt her if she EVER did that!

@54prynsexxx….I have to agree…parents should try to figure out what’s troubling their child whether if its mental issues or something triggering their actions. My uncle was killed a few years ago but before he died he took his son EVERYWHERE with him…mind you he had to be around 3 or 4 years old….he is about 8 now but he has seemed to ALWAYS remember that bond he had with his father. He ALWAYS wants to be around his family and always gets really sad when he talks about his father not being here. My other uncles won’t take him under their wing (shame on them) and my father and my other uncle seem to be the only ones who knows what his issue is. To me it’s clear as day but anyway. My father lives in California. He came back to visit and my cousin was up under him the WHOLE time. My father noticed his longing for a male figure in his life and said he would move back to take him under his wing….well things happened and my father didn’t move…my cousin was CRUSHED…now all of a sudden he wont listen to his mother…he acts up in school and they have diagnosed him with A.D.D….huh? This is the same little boy that can have a room filled with kids and would rather sit and talk and hang with his family then play? He wasn’t overly active at all…his mother works all the time and is never home…now she wants to give him to my grandmother because she says she can’t do anything with him. He is CLEARLY longing for someone to reach out to him. My father has now decided to move back for good but I mean his problem is obvious to me. Usually there is a reason for a childs behavior whether if soemthing traumatized them or if it’s mental but it shouldn’t be dismissed and mis-diagnosed…that doesn’t make sense to me.

They always try to act fly when they come back from daddy’s house. That is because 9 times out of 10 they only see him on the weekend and he is taking them somewhere and no discipline is involved. I have not had any problems out of my 11 year old diva ever since I told her I would fight her like a woman in the street (my mother used to tell my sister that, scared the hell out of me). She is the most pleasent child now. She came home from her dad’s last week and sat down and did all of her homework, took a shower, and went to bed. Now she will never know that I wouldn’t fight her heck we are the same height and I haven’t had a fight since the 5th grade lol. I would have to remember some moves. But she is scared enough to think I am just that crazy

the running away talk was a by-product of the child support talk. she wanted to know WHY she is on the $29.99 plan for her cell phone. after getting two c’s she lucky she still have the ability to talk. i pay for your cell phone. me. “well…my dad sends money for me…”
then the i’m running away mess started. me and her go back and forth so bad some nites i think we have scared lil mama (my 3 year old) who eats and goes to play in her room…like “later for this HERE tomfoolery…”

Right now, my 3 year old daughter is super grown and tries to do EVERYTHING I do. She’s full of attitude and personality and I actually dread those tween/ teen years.
Right now, everytime we go to the store she want to grab her purse and plastic high heels (was supposed to Cinderella slippers but she call them her big girl shoes). I make her march right back in her room and change.
Every morning she wake up and ask me to go fix her some coffee. And she have to have it in her favorite coffe mug. I keep telling her that it’s really hot chocolate but she aint tryng to hear me. I think coffe make her feel more adult so that’s what she insist on calling it. I’ve stopped giving it to her cause she act like she’s hooked on it.
She hasn’t threatened to runaway lately. Sperm donor lives literally 3 blocks away and Grandma isn’t as close as she used to be before we moved (she could still walk, but you know kids are lazy and have to be driven everywhere). Plus, my sister put a bug in her ear about another cruise for the holiday break, if I can get the time off or play sick and call off. They know I ain’t on all this Christmas riggamoro around here anyway. So I just may be able to pull it off. LOL She ain’t going nowhere, not before 2009, anyway. LOL
This is heartbreaking. My daughter Skylar will be 8 in May and even though I cannot fathom her doing what this little boy did, it still makes me look at him as what he is…s CHILD. He is a kid, his mind is no way fully developed to grasp that what he did is final and has dire consequences. Look at the things they show in movies, and on tv and on songs. We have NO idea what this child was going through at home at the hands of his family, not to assume anything, but I just can’t see this little 8 year old waking up like ” I think I will kill my dad today”. There is more to this story and I think it is wrong for you Sandra to assume that this little boy is a sociopath who was born without a conscience”. Do you have a psychology degree ? Somehow I don’t think you are in no way, shape or form qualified to make that decision. I like coming to this blog, it is very entertaining and it definitly makes the work day go by in a swifter, and more bearable fashion but I will never understand what type of person attacks kids ?! I am not saying IN NO WAY that what he did is excusable, all I am saying is LET THE FACT/BACKGROUND OF THE STORY COME OUT FIRST. What if tomorrow we find out his dad was molesting him, or anything ? Wold he still be a sociopath. I am sorry I had to go there, no offense to anyone or the deceased parties, but I have such a soft spot for children. They are young and impressionalbe and like the bible says at this age their sins are not their own.
You are a good one keeping the same amount of support from 95. I act real ugly when it comes to csupport. The lady in charge of my case knows my voice and she does a deep sigh when I call. I am sure to let her know that she doesn’t want to help me because I have never been on welfare and the county doesn’t get a share of my money from him. My ex had the nerve to go into court saying his payments should be lowered because I make more money. My daughter gets a measly $200 and my son has not seen support since heck was a puppy and he is a grown dog now (got that one from Ann (my mama) also)

Also when disciplining her is involved START talking to her like She’s an adult and explaining life-lessons to her now (rather than later)
Lastly,
When I had to whop my daughter’s AZZ I would carefully explain to her WHY I had to Whop-Her-AZZ and I always told her that I LOVE YOU after wards AND that I’m only doing this BECAUSE I LOVE YOU & Care About You !!!
Somehow the Discipline-n-Love seem to work hand-in-hand and the CHILD understands that their behavior-n-actions will dictate Whatever consequences occurs from their actions

I was like “damn, damn, damn”! You know when WE go to the bathroom, its boom, bam, blip and we outta there. Well I had to make sure she put it in right. I had to tell her how make sure she done wiped properly. Flushed twice, cuz the crap settles. Check behind herself. Roll up and dispose properly AND take that crap outside to the trash, don’t let no mess sit up in my garbage cans.
She said “how do girls be having that fish smell”. I said “cuz they keep that nasty crap on all day and they triflin mama’s ain’t taught them how to clean their hairs good and change when you feel a “gush”. I said “but you won’t have that problem, b/c I’m going out and buying you your own freakin’ clippers.”

My daughter has problems with her adrenal gland so the doctor told me right when to expect it. I went out an brought this book the care and keeping of you. When she started I was screaming where is that damn book lol. Then I realized she is black she didn’t read that damn book I need to break it down old school. I told her granny panties, wipes, pads, and mydol are all essential at that time of the month. We will discuss things besides pads in high school years.
My baby is 7 and you all are scaring the shyt out of me ! LOL ! When she asks me tonight “mommy do you want to play Barbies” I will break my neck to do so, tired or not ! LOL !

I have a seven year old son and they can be just as bad. My daughter has a mouth but my son thinks he is spider man. He broke a tv at 2 trying to swing like spiderman, sliced his head open and broke a table at 5. I will take the mouth over replacing my furniture.

how about we have a desk in the back of the newsroom….when you feel stressed….or for the reporters if their editor is getting on their last good nerve…it is stocked with coloring books, crayons, watercolors, etc. when we had like the second round of buyouts/layoffs there was a LINE at the desk. two, three chairs pulled up at one desk. i had to go get a kitchen timer from the cvs to limit folks to 10 minutes at a time.

It will be a disgrace to our justice system to charge this 8 year old boy as an adult-how could he and he alone in all of his 8 years on this earth have done to create the child he has become?
Blame maybe his father (unfortunately he’s dead) or any other adult who turned a blind eye to this boy and his obvious serious psychological state-there is no way he is responsible for what he did-did he know how serious the crime is he committed? To a degree, but the fact is we are dealing with a mentally disturbed child and there is no way he is responsible or could have fully comprehended the reprecussions of his actions or had any control over his mental state.
Set him free no, but for him to be tried for murder and convicted an sentenced as an adult would be a crime in itself-his family failed him & society will have to if this is actually carried out-what we see inadvertently is what we as a society have created-a breeding ground for violence and murderers, with a script so well laid out and written with violence in the media and our communities that even a child can carry out the most heinous acts-

I saw this on GMA yesterday and I saw the confession and all I could do was SMH. This is SAD. They should have had someone their to represent him, but at the sametime he’s at the age where he knowledgeable to know the difference between wrong and right. And he stated that he killed his dad because he was suffering. Suffering from what?
