Over time…people evolve. I am not the same person I was 3,4,5 years ago. Entertainers reinvent themselve all the time. For example, Christina Aguilera from Stripped until now. Vision of Love Mariah…Missy Elliot…Like A Virgin Madonna.

Entertainers are human beings and they evolve the same as everyone else.

This is just part of growth and evolution for Beyonce, like it or love it!

I agree with Maema. I think the pose looks weird and uncomfortable. I think I get what Bird means. Something about the imagery reminds me of Rihanna also. Sasha has always been fierce, but I never saw her as a “bad girl”. I think that’s been more of Rihanna’s lane this past year. But I do agree with Munchos about artists switching things up. I don’t think anything’s wrong with that. People evolve.

@ Iyonah I did just look it up to get a better understanding and to my surprise a bunch of religious things came up. Couldn’t really find any real def on music icon’s. Being compared to icon’s is not the same as being one. I will say she is on her way of becoming an Icon but at this moment in time she is not. No one is remaking any of her songs, trying to be like her, comparing themselves to the likes of Beyonce. I will say record labels may try and push the look because they think it sells but who don’t they do that to who is hot at the time.

That’s how I’ll label Bey the hot girl of the time who has potential of being an Icon.

I agree with that, but that is when I really started noticing Rih Rih. She bucked the weave/lacefront trend and went short. It’s almost like she let the real her out. She became a trend setter and stars all over the place started rocking her look. Rocsi even tried to rock the look for a minute. But so far, no one has done it as well as Rihanna in my opinion and B is not pulling it off either. It’s just not her. She’s more Diana Ross. Ultra lady like. A southern belle.
