Fantasia — Foreclosure’s Just a Fantasy!
Fantasia is disputing rumors that she lost her mansion to foreclosure:
Fantasia Barrino says reports she’s about to lose a house are hogwash.Reports say the “AI” winner is about to lose one of her homes in Charlotte, NC: She bought the 6-bed, 6,000-sq. ft. mansion back in 2007 for $1.3 mil (not a misprint) but couldn’t keep up on payments. So the county will be auctioning off the house on January 12, 2009 unless she ponies up. She’s also got another house nearby.
A relative of the singer tells the New York Post the whole thing is just a misunderstanding and she couldn’t make a court hearing to address the issue, and her lawyer didn’t immediately comment. (Source)
By the way, Fantasia also owns a cute pad here in Atlanta. But it isn’t clear why she continued to stay at Young Dro’s place when she had her own crib. I’m told Fanty is not a very good housekeeper. When limo drivers went to pick her up from his place they reported clothing and shoes strewn everywhere.
Dro and Fanty no longer date. I guess all those rumors about Dro and other women were true. My apologies to my loyal reader who tried to tell me what was up with Dro and her female friend, but I didn’t believe her.

everybody’s going thru right now. we shouldn’t be too proude to downsize and live within our means. famous or not, i dont like seeing anyone put out of their home/apt, etc. best to her.
Isn’t that what they all say when they house is foreclosing “is just a misunderstanding” but then again she shouldn’t feel bad people losing jobs, and she haven’t had a job and the recession is hitting all of us HARD

Too upset with KeyCo also, she is too by the way she mentions her “ex” in every episode. I hope Tasia gets it together too, her voice is one in a million and could really over time become exceptional!
Dro and Fantasia were the epitome of the ghetto fabulous couple! They most certainly complimented each other!
But…that dudnt seem like a relationship that would withstand the test of time. PERIOD!!

Please know that the time between your last mortgage payment and the auction block is long as hell. Something like a year. This ain’t no misunderstanding. The girl bought a house she couldn’t afford in an inflated seller’s market and now it’s worth $5 so she can’t sell it. What is there to misunderstand Tasia? I know you’re embarrassed, but don’t be lyin when it’s obvious what happened.
I feel like Tasia will be alright. Ed McMahon went through this and that man had a helluva lot more stacks than Tasia. But unless you can live in 3 places @ one time, I see no reason to buy 3 houses. ‘Cept as real estate investments that will make money for you. I think that about all celebs though

Hopefully its not true, but if it is, whats new about this? Some people have taken on more than they can handle. There are several people that have taken loans on cars and homes and KNOW they cannot afford it. Live within your means and know what those means are!! Shoooo,I would love to be driving my Mercedes C230 Kompressor right now but I can’t afford it!! I’m pretty sure I could get the car, but could I really afford it? NO!!

This **** barely sold any records tours were not the business and she lived too insanely i saw her on cribs and i thought how can she afford all this, the house, the clothes, the furnishings, HOW????????? It makes sense now she was leveraged beyond her means and then when the income stream started to dry out she could no long afford it.. she has a daughter to think about

One of two Charlotte homes owned by former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino is in foreclosure, according to Us Magazine.
The national entertainment magazine is reporting this week that Barrino’s $1.3 million home on Bevington Place, off Elm Lane in southeast Charlotte, will be auctioned off Jan. 12, if mortgage payments are not made.
Her other home, on Seton House Lane off Piper Glen Drive in southeast Charlotte, is not in financial trouble, the magazine is reporting.
Barrino, who won the American Idol title in 2004, the show’s third season, is a High Point native who attended East Mecklenburg High School and settled in Charlotte. She has been nominated eight times for Grammy awards, has recorded two successful albums and is working on a third album scheduled for release in early 2009.
She also had a successful role in the Broadway musical version of “The Color Purple” and is scheduled to appear in a movie version of the musical.
The home in financial trouble has 6,232 heated square feet, five bedrooms and 5 1/2 baths, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg tax records. The home was bought in March 2007.
Barrino, 24, bought the home on Seton House Lane in August 2004, a few months after being crowned American Idol, for $740,000. That home has four bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, and 4,572 heated square feet.

awwwww…..poor fannie mae. i feel for folks that is losing anything in this day and time. homes, jobs, cars….we better be blessed with what we have and hope that this economy don’t have everybody out back.

but one thing u an always get is a house & a car …cause either way they can come get those …. she will be ok …now that it has foreclosed she no longer owes them a penny …the house is the security for the loan …she can go about her merry way …
