Video: Notorious Movie Trailer Starring Angela Bassett & Taylor Dior
It looks like the new biopic Notorious is headed to theaters on Jan. 16, rather than the DVD bin.
I still don’t see Biggie in Gravy or Puffy in Derek Luke. As an actor, Gravy is just not convincing, and I must remind myself who Luke is supposed to be portraying.
But this movie serves its purpose as a vehicle to document the rise and fall of rap’s Premier GOAT. I just think it would be better suited for HBO or VH1.
In addition to the always spot-on acting of actress Angela Bassett as Biggie’s mom, Voletta Wallace, the film marks the big screen acting debut of little Taylor Dior, who plays Biggie’s daughter, T’yanna.
If you recall, little Taylor’s adult hairstyle unexpectedly thrust her into the national blogosphere spotlight earlier this year (LINK).

Happy Kwanza:) I too will not be going to see this one. My heart is hurting right now for Ms Bassett (the same way my heart was hurting after eating yo Christmas dinner! I dang near od’d off of pepto bismol). First a Tyler Perry movie, and now this? I can see her playing Afeni Shakur because Afeni has a history, she has a story to tell, but Angie deserves much better than playing the mom in a movie. Especially when shes not the central figure of the plot.

So I know that you know her first Album, “Faith” is a CLASSIC- TIMELESS… Ladies if you EVER need a CD to get over a dude, or to get at a dude, or even take a 24 hr road trip. Then you MUST get this CD. I swear on everything you can play the entire CD, 1-15…including the interludes, over and over and over again!! It is in my CD player now! I’ve had this CD since ’95… All three of Bey’s albums plus the Destiny’s Child ones could NEVER touch Faith’s first one!!! The only song close would be Dangerously in love… The only whole album that I have to give respect like to would be MJB’s..”My Life” another timeless classic… Didn’t mean to go there ya’ll! i actually think the movie is gonna be pretty damn good yo. this is one of the better trailers i’ve seen. sure VH1 coulda did it but his story is bigger than one music network yo.

Puffy doesn’t get the respect he deserves in HipHop He is responsible for a huge part of the 90′s era (which has produced some of the best). Nothing stays on top forever.

Puffy is THEEE man! Him, his kids, and his kid’s kids are set for LIFE lol…he got so much going on that he can just buy a yacht and chill on it forever and not lift a finger again…his kids will never have to work a 9-5, depend on anyone financially, or work for anyone else if they dont want to…Just like I’m trying to do for my daughter so she has her own!
