T.I. Finally Pays Up
According to the AJC, rapper T.I. appeared in court yesterday with a check for the $8,000 he owed the attorneys of one of his baby mama’s.
As you already know, LaShon Dixon, mother of T.I.’s oldest sons, sued the rapper for more child support last year (LINK).
A judge increased her monthly payments from the $2000 that T.I. was giving her to a little more than $3,000 a month.
The judge also ordered T.I. to pay Dixon’s attorney’s fees of $8,000 but he missed the deadline for payment.
T.I.’s excuse for not paying Dixon’s attorneys was the judge’s order to pay got lost when he changed assistants. As you recall in a previous post, I told you that T.I. fired his sister Precious and her son, who were his assistants (LINK).
T.I.’s other baby mama — the mother of his daughter Deyjah — still gets $2000 a month from T.I. and apparently she has no plans to take him to court for more.

I thought all of TI kids stayed with him and his babymomma Tiny, if so then the other babymommas need a full-time job,they can go onto monster.com and create a resume and look for jobs. Im just saying

Cause the other baby momma probably WORKS! Geesh, he pays her 3k a month, pays for their school, and still spends on those boys. Not to mention she asked for 10k yesterday for a monthly payment! Im just saying, and I know some of yall will disagree, no 36k isnt a lot but along with your OWN income it is substantial! I just dont think its fair that the mother’s are allowed to sit on their ays and collect cause the child’s father is successful. If you 2 were married thorugh his success, okay may be a different story, but you had those boys when he didnt have anything now you want in. If her babydaddy were a broke nucca she would have to get up and work, why is it different cause he worked hard? He responded to the judge very appropriately yesterday by saying he does his part, and he worked hard, and if this chick aint on the level she wants to be on it because she is not doing her part.
Good for him. That was a silly little debt. He spends more for that on Tiny’s purses.
I couldn’t even get out of the car this morning because this was the “hot” topic on the radio. One of the DJs (the female) said that $3000 was plenty (because TI also pays for the boys tuition, insurances, gotten the mom a car, and buys all the boys clothes and supports their extra-curricular activities) but the male DJ said $36k a year isn’t enough for two kids. Sometimes Frank Ski (the DJ) can be out of the loop on these things.

V-103 is reporting that LaShawn (spelling) is requesting an additional $7000 per month. She currently receives $3000 and want $10,000.

You know I never understood why a person should get that much in child support. To let 50’s baby momma tell it…the child should be able to enjoy the same standard of life with both parents. If that is the case, then let the other parent start grindin’ just like the rest of us.

Depending on the day Frank Ski can work my last nerve on reserve. My gfriend feels 3K is not enough when his other kids are living the life and all his kids should be living the same good life. I feel as long as his kids are well taken care of and arent hurting for anything then its all good. He appears to spend time with them. I am sure they both wishes the courts wouldnt have had to get involved but oh well such is life.

Just coming from a single father who raises his kid by hisself. These bit**ches are delirious!!! These chicks look for a meal ticket and their arguements are stupid. $36,000 is a salary and national median of a single american makes about $31,000. So she gets more than what a single american makes by taking his ass to work every single day and dealing with a bunch of B.S. while she makes it by simple sitting at home.
I heard the Frankski show this morning and that is the problem. If you have kids than you have to raise your kids but the majority of “fathers” that pay child support have a problem because these mothers abuse the child support payments. If she wouldn’t have the kids I guarantee that she probably would be making 36K a year period. Plus if he pays for all the schools, health care, etc that needs to be added in there as well.
I am sorry, I don’t agree with these women that cry all that high child support crap. A lot of times men pay for the kids miscellenous expenses like school clothes, health care, day care. So the only thing the mothers have to do is get groceries. Rent you have to pay regardless if you have kids or not.
And yes I am raising my own kid with NO child support payments and never have. So I know what it takes to raise a kid

I have friends that feel the same as yours but I had to ask them, if they were as successful as TI and they babydaddy was broke, would they have to pay him so that when the kids are over his house they would maintain the same lifestyle? I mean Tiny has her own money Im sure, and with it being 2 parents in one house and 1 in the other it will never be a level playing field. They cant possibly live the same life, unless they all move in together! 10k aint gone do it either.

I just got in here, so I didn’t read every body’s comments, incase you though I was specifically speaking towards you…I just mean these touchy subjects period (Child support, baby mama’s, wifey’s etc). I agree Dblaq. Some of these heffas need to get a job. Those kids are school age she is not taking care of kids all day. I get a very small amount of child support and my husband does nothing financially besides that for my son. Let them take a walk in an everyday woman’s shoes and they will learn to take that amount and run.

He is getting ready to go to jail for a year. I am married and because of the privacy laws it is hard for me to get info on hubby’s bills, not sure what the plan is going to be for Tiny to keep everything running smoothly when she has no rights.

I am glad I live in Ohio. I like payroll deductions for CS. I should not have to take the risk to think the payor is going to have the decencey to willingly make payments using a personal account.

I used to take the payments to child support, but when I was going out of town and would miss by 2 or 3 days they would be hawking me so I started the payroll deductions and I love it as well…

As for me myself I despise the child support system but sometimes you can’t get the man to cooperate. My ex went to court on his own when we split up and with my daughter it was an automatic court appearance since I was a minor and not married.

My brother lives in Mt.Airy (Philly quasi burbs) he drives an expedition, his wife is a functioning Bi-Polar who keeps herself together with the latest.
That is probably why but I also think its because her other baby daddy’s don’t pay. By the way my nephews are 17 and 14 I believe and the rest of her kids are younger so I believe it is not necessarily for them but more for the younger ones.
I don’t believe a woman should take a brother to court who is handling his business on his own. I have 2 friends who never had to take their baby daddys to court. I also have friends who tried that route but it didnt workout so downtown they went. So at the end of the day (yes I went there) single mothers do what must be done for you and yours.

The key word is “We” wanna ball to. The momma don’t need to ball only Raheem. Put it this way if Raheem lives with Momma and Daddy buys Raheem all the clothes, toys, and whatever his heart desires that will allow him to do the same. And most important if Raheem has a room at his Daddy house where he can come to anytime, holidays, weekends, etc. But I know a several mothers that don’t even let the Daddy’s see the kids but yet rape them on the child support. Ain’t no reason for me to take her to court. I am a man and I will take care of mines. I don’t depend on no one. He is my blood and if I got to go that extra mile I do it. The time and effort I would spend in court and all that. I can use that time to make some extra money. In the very early stages when she use to have him, she use to try to take me to court every month. I paid child support, bought all his clothes, paid all his expenses, picked him up for basketball games, or whatever he wanted to do with the school, etc. So now that the table are turned ain’t shyt she can do and say but thing is that she realized how triflin she was. she doesn’t make a lot of money and has another kid. So I dont even bother

Keep in mind my gfriend makes more money, has a nicer/bigger house and car. She was trying to help him get his finances back in order and what not. She had to quickly let his mama know she had it all wrong and her son didnt have anything she needed to “trap” him for..lol
You can say whatever you want but that’s part of the problem with our community now. Too many people having kids out of wedlock and no fathers in the homes to help raise these young men.

I agree the courts need to do a major overhaul of the child support system….I think Leshawn should be ashamed for asking T.I. for more money. Like Wanda Smith was saying this morning, I want to know what Lashawn does for a living. Is she in school/working?…How is $3000/mo. not enough money for two children?…She needs to show an expense/budget statement of what she is doing with the money to justify an increase.

Well speaking from a child’s perspective….my father had a son before he married my mom….and my brother’s mom constantly took my Dad in and out of court because she saw the lifestyle we had. Well my mother was a working woman and made the same if not more than my Dad so her income made a difference in our household. The courts didn’t count the things my Dad did outside of his payments such as shopping sprees, vacations, cars bought, etc that my Dad did for all of his kids. They treated those as gifts. So the system can be a not so good think. And although it may not matter, both my parents went to college and went into fields that paid well….my brother’s mom didn’t. It’s not to slight his mom because I love her dearly and she’s been very good to us but you have to look at the bigger picture. As a kid, I didn’t understand why we lived in a moderate house but we picked my brother up in the projects and it boils down to all things just don’t equal when different factors are there.

To add to my previous post all of my brother’s siblings fathers by his mom were not in the picture so my Dad was the only child support income being added to the household.

Being a single parent of two it is hard raising kids without the right amount of income. You are one person doing a two person job. So first shout out to any singlw parent that is doing it on there own without any child support. I xhoose not to put my children’s father on child support because I was always taught that God will make a way out of no way. So far he has. My children have way more than I have ever gotten and the bomb. I don’t know TI baby mama situation but hopefully she will figure it out and take care of her boys
