FanMAIL: Who’s That Girl?

Loyal reader Natasha has a few choice words for my client Botchey of Botchey Entertainment for Photoshopping her picture into his promotional ad for tonight’s Investment Club party at Luckie’s!

If Natasha looks familiar to you, that’s because, besides seeing her on that flyer, she was also featured in BET’s Hell Date Season 2.

Sandra: FIRST, LOVES THE SITE!!! I’m emailing you cause I see my picture on an advertisement you had sent to you for this Wednesday’s event: Investment club Hawks vs Magic. Why I’d be lying to say I wasn’t tickled pink to see myself on the flyer that whomever snatched from my myspace or online and Photoshopped an Atlanta Hawks shirt on..

I gotta say they COULDA ASKED!! Truth be told I got my shine on as everyone who knows where to get the latest visits your site and numerous people hit me up for “landing an advertising” spot on your blog which I had to reply I had no dealing with creating– I had to get around to figuring out how to access you at work – so I’ve been a little late on the latest

What really irks me is that people will snatch a picture of you- throw you on a flyer and then have you stand in a line for 1 1/2 to get in to an event they “used” you for marketing purposes to get people to come to… Some people say you should be “grateful” they gave you some exposure, while others say sue them they didn’t have the right to plaster my pic (It’s not that serious and I definitely ain’t no one important to be doing all that) However it does bring me to the point of recognizes how the Atlanta industry market doesn’t pay!

They find all types of ways to exploit models or aspiring models (with or without their consent) using the “you should be lucky I’m acknowledging you” and not pay… I will not be attending the event tonight as I hear Luckies is crazy on Wednesday – I don’t do lines and I’m not that important to be able to skip or rich enough to pay someone extra!

Anyways loves the site… and as far as less negativity (forget that goal!) Life ain’t pretty and sometimes the truth is ugly – Keep reporting as you see it or at least how you’d like to (wink) it’s entertaining – And that’s what I come for!!! Best wishes in 09′

Girl sue, or do something. Just on the principle that they didn’t ask you and invite you to the event. The Atlanta Club and Marketing scene is so shifty right now, that many of these promoters are so thristy and will do anything, even questionable business practices.

COMING FROM A PROMOTERS PERSPECTIVE, I CANT SPEAK ON LUCKIES BUT I CAN SPEAK ON THE EVENTS THAT IVE HELD.

MANY PROMOTERS CONTACT GRAPHIC DESIGN COMPANIES TO PRODUCE ARTWORK. THEREFORE, ITS NOT ALWAYS THE CLUB OWNERS OR ACTUAL PROMOTERS RESPONSIBLE FOR FLYERS.

IF THE YOUNG LADY REQUESTS VIP TREATMENT TO THE CLUB, I THINK ITS WELL DESERVED. I MOST DEFINATELY UNDERSTAND HER VERY VALID POINTS, BUT IM JUST POINTING OUT THAT IT MAY NOT BE THE PROMOTERS FAULT.

I disagree with her on that, but ultimately she is the one who has been cheated so if she ain’t mad I won’t be mad. I’m gonna go with ELove and say give her some Morning Glory shine so that she can at least get a little more exposure out of that promoter using her likeness for free without her permission. She’s a pretty girl and sounds intelligent. I wish her much success with her modeling career.

i heard ryan cameron yesterday afternoon complaining about this same thing. he said he hates ag entertainment and how they keep using his name on ads etc….sad.

#1 someone did a GREAT job photoshopping the shirts, booty shorts and stockings to be ATL Hawks!!! LOL!!!

#2 She hit the nail on the head about the Atlnata Market not wanting to pay. They want you to be content with getting “exposure” while they sit back and collect the check. My model friends in LA don’t MOVE unless they get a check!! LOL!!!

#3 I’m sure if she contacts Botchey or (if he contacts her like it seems like it would be the gentleman thing to do) she would be able to get VIP treatment at Luckie tonight just for the incident.

#4 I think fling a lawsuit isn’t necessary in this case. Luckily they didn’t photoshop her into being half-naked on the flyer. She looks classy and this event is the most talked about in the city so it didn’t bring any negative attention to her.

From my understand- and my friend the publicist told me yesterday cause the same thing happened to her- is that if your picture is not copyrighted and it on the internet it can be used without prior permission
