Celebs Out & About
Our favorite Metrosexual couple, Kanye West and Amber Rose were out & about in London last night. They attended the Giles LFW fashion show, which is part of London’s Fashion Week.

Ludacris was spotted carrying his own bags through L.A.’s LAX airport yesterday. How humble of him.

Prince performed during his “Purple Party” following the Oscars on Sunday night in Hollywood. His hand picked guests cooled their heels for hours waiting on him to arrive. Prince finally hit the stage around 4:45 a.m. eastern time.

Guess Whose Legal Goons Reached Out Yesterday?

So yesterday I wrote a post in which I copied & pasted a conversation between one of Kanye West’s bodyguards (allegedly) and another blogger. Not that I measure my reader’s interest based on comments, but that particular post generated a grand total of one comment.
So what’s the big deal, right?
Within hours, a Cease & Desist letter landed in my email inbox with a thud! It caught me by surprise. Out of all the Kanye posts I’ve written in the past, why would I get a C&D for that post?
Anyway, after receiving the C&D, I hustled back to the Fashionista.com to see if the text was still there. Of course the entire post was completely removed from the server. The Fashionista must have been shook when they emailed her.
But thank God for Google’s cache pages, otherwise I might be left holding the bag like I made the whole thing up myself.
Do I believe The Fashionista manufactured the conversation like certain other blogs sometimes do? No I don’t. That conversation was too intricately woven together to be fake.
Besides that, why would she make it up?
But a better question is, why would the legal goons pick that particular subject to get excited about?
Is it that our combined posts woke up the sleeping Louis Vuitton Gods, who weren’t aware that their shoes were walking out the back door before they had the chance to hit retail stores?
I don’t know that for a fact. I’m just guessing.

Celebs Out & About

Actress Taraji P. Henson showed some love to singer Esperenza Spaulding at Prince’s “The Purple Party” For LotusFlow3r.com in Hollywood last night following the Oscars. LotusFlow3r.com is a new website named for one of the three albums Prince will supposedly release this year.

At Prince’s party, Taraji was joined on the sofa by playwright/director Tyler Perry, singer Alicia Keys and her mother. If Tyler was a nice guy (he’s only nice if you’re “somebody”) — I would mention the fact that his movie “Madea Goes to Jail” topped the box office this weekend with an impressive $41 million, making this the biggest opening weekend for the “Madea” series and for the film’s distributor. But since Tyler is not a nice guy — I won’t bother to mention any of that.

Actress Meagan Goode was on the guest list at Prince’s party, but she showed up fashionably late as she always does. Still, Meagan wasn’t as bad as Prince, who finally arrived around 4:45 a.m. eastern time. At least he performed, which must have been some treat for his hand-picked guests.

Bow Wow Dogs Chris Brown

Rapper Bow Wow takes a page from mentor Jermaine Dupri’s book of shameless publicity grabbing.
Shad recently sat down with OK! magazine to discuss his reaction to the “shocking” photo of his friend Rihanna, who was “dealt with” by his other friend Chris Brown:
“Just shocking,” he tells OK!. “I mean we heard what happened but we really didn’t get a visual for it. But I mean hey, man. The picture speaks for itself.”
“I mean, being in the business, the first thing is ‘ah, it’s false, another rumor, bloggers just wanting to have traffic to their site,’” Bow Wow tells OK!. “But when the story was unfolding, it was kind of shocking to all. Chris is a good friend of mine. We’ve had the opportunity to tour together. And then Rihanna, she’s just a beautiful person. Period. Never done no wrong to nobody.”
Bow Wow really took it there when he compared Chrianna’s situation to his relationship with Ciara, lol
“I’ve been in a high profile relationship before and I know how it feels when everybody’s in your business. It just puts more pressure. And the only way they’re going to get over the situation is just to let them deal with it. And that’s what I really want to do. I’m praying for them both.” [LINK]
Once again, I feel it’s worth mentioning that the photo looked worse than Rihanna’s actual injuries.
The photo was of bad quality. It was overexposed. The color was not correct, and the camera was too close to her face, which caused distortions in her appearance. Her nose and lips looked bigger the same way your nose would if you looked into a car’s side view mirror.

Jamaica Bans Hip Hop, Dancehall Music From Airwaves

Jamaica has taken a step in the right direction toward reclaiming our youth from the destructive influence of Hip Hop and dancehall music.
The Jamaican Broadcasting Commission has banned all sexually explicit music, and music that depicts violence, from the country’s airwaves.
That just about covers 95% of the Hip Hop tracks currently being played on the radio here in the U.S.
Gee, you think such a ban will force record labels, producers and rap artists to be more creative?
We hope that American radio programmers also grow some balls and decide to stop playing this garbage on the air.
The ban went into effect on Feb. 6. It covers all songs meant to promote the act of “daggering,” a dance move that simulates sexual intercourse.
The ban includes music played on both radio and television. DJs have no leeway in the ban because the songs can’t be played even if the lewd lyrics are bleeped. [LINK]
Lisa Wu Hartwell Sues Keith Sweat for Custody

Another publicity stunt. I’m sure Bravo’s cameras were rolling as Lisa Wu went to the courthouse to file her paperwork.
From AJC.com:
-
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” housewife Lisa Wu Hartwell last Thursday filed for primary custody of her two sons with ex-husband and R&B singer Keith Sweat.
“The best interest of the minor children will be served by modifying the current custody and visitation provisions to make Mother the primary physical condition of the minor children,” according to the court papers filed with the Superior Court of Fulton County. “Since the time of the Divorce Decree, Mother has remarried, owns a successful business and will provide a stable, loving, and nurturing environment in which she can raise the minor children.”
She is seeking “primary physical custody and joint legal custody with final decision-making on all issues regarding the minor children.” She will “reasonably engage Father in good faith discussions before any final decisions are made concerning the children’s welfare.” The two children are Jordan Sweat, age 14 and Justin Sweat, age 11.
If she does get custody, she requests child support as well.
