I enjoy reading your blog, one can never predict what’s coming next! Just a small fyi, the commercial in that video is actually Kenyan and not Nigerian.Otherwise we both know that American tv is too puritanical for anything like that to show despite all the raunchy music videos we see. Too many double standards in America if you ask me, ultraviolent movies are made and even marketed to teens and young adults yet video games based on the same concepts are railed against like there is no tomorrow. Anyway let me get off my soap box.

That is hilarious, especially the older man in the car!
It’s actually a Kenya on condom advert shot on the streets of Nairobi. Thought I’d point that out bcoz Trust is a brand of condoms manufactured in Kenya for the east & central African markets.
I saw it several times while there last year and also, Kaunda Street is one of the main streets in Nairobi’s Central Business District, the CFC Bank and the Hilton Hotel in the bankground as well as the faces are typically Kenyan…you can easily point out a Kalenjin, Luo, Kikuyu and other people from different ethnic groups featured in the commercial.
Swahili is used in the text at the end of the ad.
Not sure if Kuku himself authorized the use of his song for this online ad but stuff happens on the Internet.
I didn’t know what to expect when he opened the condom. That was funny.
Glad you were corrected already Sandra, this is not a Nigerian commercial, and has never been shown as a commercial on Nigerian airwaves. Furthermore this ad is really old..

You got that right. Monkey see Monkey do and no pun is intended. LOL. Did you hear the man from “The New York Post” apologized. It was so lame and he needs ppl. He needs to call Rev Al or go on a late night talk show. I still would not believe his apology but want to see him skirm on live tv.

Sandra, I don’t think i’ve ever seen a condom commercial on tv.
Everyone is having sex, and yet people want to talk about it in a hush hush. Teen pregnancy, STDs…, Its not working.

I really liked that commercial it was great seeing a commercial with ALL black people in it you would never see something like that in the states. side note did you see the size of that damn condom i’m in the wrong country for real

I think its a pretty nice ad and its Target audience (kenyans) understands its importance!
