Kandi Burrus Added To Cast of ATL Housewives

As you know, the well-respected DeShawn Snow was booted out of the cast for the second season of the Real Housewive’s of Atlanta. The first season of ATL Housewive’s was Bravo’s 2nd highest rated show in the ‘Housewives’ franchise behind Orange County.

The main reason for the show’s success was the hot mess of a cast led by NeNe Leakes, who I heard has signed another short-term lease for a mansion just for this season.

After DeShawn was dismissed for not being ghetto enough, rumors swirled about her replacement.

Well, those rumors have been laid to rest now. Hollywood Insider announced exclusively that former Xscape member Kandi Burrus will fill that role. On the surface, Kandi seems to be an odd fit for this cast because her life seems drama-free. Kandi is well-respected in the industry as a songwriter with 56 million records sold.

But it makes sense when you consider that Kandi is set to be wed this month to a guy whose life is full of drama. According to my source, he has 6 children who he’s not supporting financially. Kandi also has a daughter with Block of Block Entertainment.

Back in January a source close to Tameka “Tiny” Cottle informed me that Tiny would be attending Kandi’s wedding in March or April. At the time I tried to do a little research on Kandi’s fiance, but I came up with nothing. So I forgot about them until today when I received the following email.

A good friend of mine ________ gave me your info and said you needed to know this. I’m sure you know by now that Kandi Burrus is the newest member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. They started filming today and Kandi Burrus is in fact not married to Shakespere as some are reporting but has a drug dealer/ boyfriend named “AJ”. He recently moved into Kandi’s house in Fayetteville and AJ has 6 kids and doesn’t pay child support for neither one of them. He shows fake paycheck stubs (since he doesn’t have a job) so he doesn’t have to pay. Ask me how I know??? His ex-wife whom he just divorced last August, is my best friend’s friend and they were together for 6 years. Her name is _______ and she used to be in the r&b singing group ‘bella”. (they have the cutest little 5 yr old son I’ve ever seen) He pays her no support nor alimony and even took her truck when they divorced she doesn’t even have a car now but they were married in 2005 and divorced in 2008. This shit is about to hit the fan once everybody does their research on her and her new fiance (I heard he just proposed to her lol!) He is a big hoe in Atlanta and thats why ______ filed for divorce. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance I have hundreds of stories about him and he doesn’t deserve to be on that show with all of the skeletons he has in his closet. He is a deadbeat dad and only got with Kandi for the fame and money.

By the way he sells weed lol! Remember where you heard it first!!! I have PLENTY of supporting evidence! I can’t wait to hear what they say he does for a living!

Well I think Kandi will be a nice twist to the story. The only off thing to me is most of the ATl women seemed to be “friends” in some sort of way so not sure how they are going to tie Kandi into the show.

The email sounds like a scorned woman’s homegirl wrote it. & I guess Tiny doesn’t mind her dating her ex because they are still friends.

I guess the word housewife has changed over the years. I always thought a housewife stayed home and raised the kids. Didn’t work and spent her husbands money. Not support his broke azz.

I see someone said she’s ugly…I don’t find her ugly. However, I don’t find her amazing looking either. She is still by far the best looking from Xscape…that group was not known for their sex appeal in the industry.

boy they will put any woman on this show. the name needs to be changed to the ghetto women in atlanta, b/c no one is even married except two of them. i wonder if they will show sheree getting sued by her divorce attorney on the show, since they just started taping and she got served the lawsuit just the other day. they really make the atl look bad.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing. This story is full of crap. Why would he make fake pay stubs to avoid child support. Isn’t it better to be unemployed that way they can’t force you to pay anything???

I just started watching Real Housewives when it hit Atlanta. I had not interest in the show prior. But after watching ATL, I caught episodes of Orange County, couldn’t really get into it. But I love New York City.

Ok, so now I’m offended. This ish is deliberate. I love Kandi’s music and she’s very talented, but there needs to be a balance and DeShawn provided that. Lisa was cool too, but I guess she had to hold her spot by acting a fool on the reunion show.

It just pains me to see women that supposedly have it going on, but they slum around with any male that will do. I know its ATL, but damn find you a man somewhere else and have him relocate or shoot you relocate. I can feel my headache coming already.

Are you sure this story didn’t come directly from the ex wife? The whole friend of a friend who my next door neighbor’s neice on her grandma side cousin from my autie Bettie’s husband brother know stories aren’t even worth the trouble or printing.

I don’t see how Khandi will fit into this whole housewives bit this season either. I don’t see her kicking it with Sheree, Lisa, or NeNe.

Also WTH does how cute someone looks have to do with anything? Khandi isn’t ugly at all IMO. What defines cute these days if she’s ugly?

Also, on ALL the season of the Real Housewifes, there a women who are not married. They may need to just change the name of the show but Atlanta isn’t the first series that all the women weren’t married.

I thought Khandi and Tiny were really close. When did Tiny have a 2 year relationship? How many years has T.I and Tiny been together? How long was her and her other baby daddy together? Sandra, can you break a timeline down for us?
