Audio: Nivea Calls Into Ryan Cameron’s Show

Someone hit me up a minute ago and told me to tune into the Ryan Cameron Show on V-103 because Nivea was about to call in. I’m thinking Nivea? Who the hail is that? I couldn’t pick her out of a lineup if my life depended on it.

See, people just assume that I keep up with all these R&B birds, but if they don’t blow like Teena Marie, they don’t register on my radar.

Well, I tuned into Ryan’s show and I was clueless as to what they were talking about. Something about Lil Wayne and The Dream and a video.

Luckily my nephew Malcolm called me and I asked him what that was all about. he knows his auntie is clueless when it comes to these no talent R&B chicks today, so he broke it down for me.

Anyway, here’s the audio of Nivea explaining to Ryan why she sounded and acted like a trollop in the above video.

#13, Tiny can blow. I dont think any of them were LEADS on songs; they kinda all sang parts. Xscape was very underrated, fa real. I think the Scott sisters sang the meaty, note driven songs, followed by Kandi…but Tiny held her own too.

oh yeah, nivea. Nivea sang ok, imo. Her keeping it real, ghetto demeanor is what hurt her career. Some artists learn the hard way about turning that bs on/off, or at least knowing when to. Most of them don’t with tats displayed everywhere and the rainbow coalition clinching to their scalps.

oh back to the topic, i love nivea and her music. this video is over a year old and why she feels like she has to explain this is beyond me . the video was funny to me .

I liked a few of her songs too. I don’t ever recall Nivea trying to “keep it real” or be hood IMO. She just was on the scene then she wasn’t.

As far as Teena Marie, although she’s a legend, had she been black she wouldn’t been just an o.k singer. Rick James really is responsible for the bulk of her career. She just was hungry enough to keep it moving forward.

Don’t get me started on Xscape. I agree that they all did sing on the songs but it was reported that when they were out Tasha’s boyfriend was their manager and there was friction in the group because Tasha got to sing lead the most. IMO Kandi had the strongest voice. You clearly knew it was here when her part came on. I agree that they ALL could sing though. Even when they tried to make a comeback a few years ago (without Kandi) I saw them live and they ALL sang well.

Never heard the rumors other than the Kandi messing with JD rumors.

Groups really do go thru a lot of drama. & now with shows like making the band you see why.

Yeah even though making the band is Diddy…and with Diddy there never are any winners but him.

I think I read that in an interview by Kandi a while back. I heard that it’s one of the reasons that Tasha and Tameka and Kandi fell out.

I also heard that Kandi and JD was in a relationship but JD wanted to write all of their material and wouldn’t let the girls especially Kandi write and Kandi knew she could.

It is all in who your team is Ms. Tia. You wonder with some artist just how they are even out because they can’t sing but has a nice face but the girls who can really sing but have a average at team are left in the dust.

All 3 of her kids are by The Dream. I read that in an article she did somewhere. Did The Dream leave her while she was pregnant?

I never knew Nivea had twins. I thought she had one baby by the Dream and then became prg again recently. I so missed the twins. I always liked her and Wayne because he seems to always say he loves her but I guess not enough to stop sleeping around with other random chicks.
