Hello All. Ahhhh, these pics bring back pleasant memories. I often comment on our black younguns today and how most look, act and sound like heathens but I must admit, a lot of their problems steams from our problems back in the day, and then we became parents. We wanted so much for our children to have MORE than we did. MORE should have been more education, more respect, and more guidance and love, not necessarily material things. My husband often tells me that black folks have plenty of hindsight. How true, how true. But we must NEVER give up on our younguns. After all, they are our future. (That’s most of you on this board, peace.)

These are old covers, look like 80s which means what they are wearing now was the chit back then. Take out some of your old pictures and see what you were wearing in the 80s. I know I always get a good laugh from old pictures.

@ Naima…Jayne Kennedy was the Halle Berry (as far as beauty is concerned) before Halle Berry was even thought of.

Seriously, men lost their minds over her…I think my Dad even had a crush on her too LOL!!! Also she has been mentioned in alot of rap songs too…most notable is Mos Def’s “Ms. Phat Booty”.

I honestly think my Grandmama had all of these Ebony mags in her basement lololol…I remember seeing the Mike Tyson and Gary Coleman mags after she passed a few years ago. I should have kept some of them forreal…

Naima, adding to what #42 said she was like Vanessa Williams before we’d ever heard of Vanessa Williams. She was a model, actress, sports caster (who remembers that). She was (I believe) the first black woman to get the cover of Playboy, to rank in the finals of Miss USA. That’s all that I can remember. Then she married Leon Kennedy (can you say Penitentiary…lol Yall know yall loved those movies. They were like the 80s Will and Jada.
