Did This Little Toy Pistol Cause Toya and Her Man to Break Up?
I just received word that Antonia “Toya” Carter and her man, NFL star James Hardy have split up. And the break up may be over this little pink plastic gun that Toya recently posted on her Twitter page.
It’s amazing the things people find to talk about and blow all out of proportion! I’ve been fielding emails all week from readers about this pink gun that Toya said she received as a birthday gift.
However, word out of Toya’s camp today is that James is no longer “Toya’s man” — although the two remain good friends. This info comes from a very credible source. So, fellas, that means Toya is single and free to mingle!
Here’s what Hardy wrote on his Twitter page yesterday after apparently receiving flack from the NFL’s front office about the gun. I think a clause against purchasing or dealing in firearms is written into his contract:

I doubt they broke up over the gun but he is a football player and probably no one is willing to sacrifice their time off with one another .(dating a athlete is a long distance relationship that has to be built on trust so either your with it or not)
Why would she tell anyone she even owns a gun? I mean unless you’re a white republican with something to fear, why talk about it? I hope he doesn’t lose his job behind her diarreah of the mouth.

That’s weird about her and ol boy, she seemed all happy about him the other day when she was on her during the live chat. Oh well.
If they have broken up I am really sorry to hear it. Breakups are never easy. You didn’t really give the story behind the gun and I dang sure don’t plan on looking it up. That would be a very odd gift whoever gave it to her. Buying a pink one doesn’t make it any less dangerous. Not cute.

I saw this on Twitter yesterday and didn’t understand why she posted the pic of a gun anyway. I thought it was a bad move and her subsequent tweets about the gun only confirmed it.
By the time I got home EVERY radio station was reporting in their 411 that Wayne brought her a Aston Martin and her boyfriend brought her a gun.
I’ve also heard that the gus ISN’T plastic.

Sad to hear this if it did break them up. She should know by now that being on tv or in the public eye..whatever that you have to be very careful about the things you do. Just the fact that they were a couple and word got around about the gun, he had to quickly speak on it to clear the situation. Sad but maybe this is a lesson learned on her part. The couple times i’ve walked by the tv and seen toya and her man…i won’t lie…it didn’t look genuine. It didn’t seem real. Like some people already said about that pic of them up top…just doesn’t come across as genuine. Doesn’t seem natural. Wen you genuinely like someone, and that chemistry is there…you can’t fake it. Its hard to put into words…but i think some know what i mean. There relationship seemed made for tv…just my opinion

with all of the drama surrounding the NFL (it’s only a very few out of the damn near 2k people in the league but you can’t tell that to the haters), you don’t want to have drama associated with your name. as a player, it can affect your contract, your endorsements, and your fans.
there is no law preventing him from doing anything for himself or for her but to have your boo showing off a weapon that you supposedly bought her (instead of keeping it on the hush) is BAD NEWS. the NFL does not want little kids bragging to their parents that james bought toya a cute gun and they want one too.
not only does it show poor judgment on her part (putting their business out there) but it also shows poor judgment in his choice of associations. this is something the teams DO NOT FORGET.
it’s not about criminal history; it’s legal, it’s moral, it’s allowable but it’s about preserving and protecting the integrity of the league.

Thanks for the explanations. I thought there was some type of “morality” clause, or whatever the correct terminology is, but wasn’t sure if something like buying the gun would violate those terms. Either way, I agree, it is not something to be shown off like a new ring.
