FanMAIL: Did Jermaine Dupri Quietly Diss Pseudo DJ Solange?

Loyal reader Grace emailed me to say that music producer Jermaine Dupri may have dissed pseudo DJ Solange on Twitter last night. She said Solange sent this tweet to JD while he was busy Deejaying a gig at a Miami Beach Hotel.

When JD didn’t respond to her, Solo sent this tweet:

But still JD did not respond, leading Grace and others to believe that he intentionally dissed the pseudo DJ who is now his direct competition for potential future celebrity deejaying gigs.

Question: why do celebrities (and others) use Twitter.com as a text messaging service to send messages that only the recipient should care about? Is it because they are narcissists who think the world is interested in everything they have to say no matter how random or mundane the message is? Doesn’t Solange have JD’s cell phone number?

It’s interesting to note that Solange, who was staying at the same time hotel, didn’t bother to attend the party. Could it be because Solange was slightly perturbed that she wasn’t asked to DJ the party instead of JD? Then again, maybe JD dismissed her tweets because he knows that real DJs get down on wax, not on Apples.

Also if she wasn’t with her son…she would be considered a bad mother and needed to get her priorities together…

Solo is nicer than me she went on twitter..I would have went downstairs and politely(with the best french words I can think of) asked them to turn that music down……

I absolutely HATE Twitter. It’s totally a waste of my time. I’m too busy in my own life to be worrying about someone else’s. I could care less. solo you need to stay at a more family friendly hotel with NO parties then if the noise is gonna bother you and possibly your lil man. you can’t be somebody momma but yet wanna stay where all the action jumps off…and then complain about it.

Another thing, while she is concerned about her sleeping child, maybe she should’ve considered another hotel to stay in because, unfortunately, you don’t have control over anyone else’s sense of courtesy. People don’t care.

I don’t understand the hype behind Twitter either. It’s just a yellow school bus version of FB (no offense). “Tweets” are like FB statuses and “Followers” are like FB friends IMO.

If Solange was truly concerned about her son getting sleep at Superbowl weekend, she could have rented a private residence or stayed at a hotel off the strip, in Fort Lauderdale perhaps?

Perhaps JD didn’t respond to her, because he was actually busy being a DJ and enjoying the party to be replying on twitter.
What kills me about (actual, psuedo & by-association) celebrities on twitter, is that they’re telling you how much fun they’re having at a party, but its hard to believe them since they’re spending 4 hours on twitter instead of enjoying their time & waiting for us to see the pics on the blogs the next day or two.

maybe he didn’t respond cuz he was busy, and only God knows why a self proclaimed mulit millionaire would have to, djing. i’m not sure why folks are hard on solange. people act as if she just bought a dj software and mac book yesterday and decided to do this. who’s to say she aint been doing this in her home for years getting her skills up????

artistic people are dimensional, meaning they can do several things like write, sing, draw, paint. the bottom line is artistic people can CREATE. let that chick dj. if a sponsor wants JD or DJ whothellever, he’ll get them, trust me.

I think there’s behind the scenes history with solange and jermaine that there was no ill will on either part. chalk this up as the infamous SR reach.

Wow, really Solo? You’re in a hotel, with a club, perhaps many clubs and it’s Superbowl weekend. How about taking up your concern with management and NOT the DJ because obviously from 18 floors up or down there’s some insulation/noiseproof issues in the walls if you can hear the party from your room.

Which is why I don’t care for twitter. Celebs are quick to say they got haters when regular folks comment on their tweets. Like others have said, send that person a text to their phone!! How hard is that? It’s a great way for celebs to talk to their fans but do they have to talk to each other on it?
