Las Vegas Mayor Declines Obama’s Invitation

Remember the Las Vegas mayor who called U.S. president Barack Obama a “slow learner” after he singled out Las Vegas during one of his classic do as I say, not as I do moments?

Well, according to online reports, Mayor Oscar Goodman refused an invitation to meet with President Obama who was is in Vegas yesterday.

“I’ve got other things to do quite frankly for my constituents here in Las Vegas who rely on me to do the right thing as a mayor,” explained Mayor Goodman. Ouch.

When asked if he was surprised that the White House extended an invitation to him in the first place, Mayor Goodman said, “A little bit in the sense I would think they would know that I would say I’m not coming,” said Mayor Goodman.

“We are hurting, we have people in foreclosures, we have people having a hard time feeding their families and we can’t stand to have a flippant statement made,” said Mayor Goodman.

So far there’s been no comment from the White House.

That mayor is definately grandstanding. He has jumped on the “let’s kick Obama” train while it’s in full speed ahead, without stopping to realize the President could be one of his greatest allies. *Cue Fred Sanford… You big dummy!*

I read what the President said and I read it to mean don’t go to Vegas and blow your college fund, mortgage $, or nest egg, and for companies not to waste taxpayer dollars by holding “team building meetings” there, then expect welfare or help when you lose. He didn’t say anything about spending your rainy day $, vacation $, or discretionary income. Or if you’re a private company, hell… you can spend what you want, but don’t blame the government/economy/Obama if you’re business goes under.

Can’t believe the Mayor of SIN CITY, of all places, is

having a self-righteous moment? A large part of the reason

people can’t feed their families and are going into

foreclosure is because they’re flooding HIS CITY year in

and year out, leaving their money at the Craps and

Blackjack tables, not to mention the Slot Machines. THOSE

are the people I’d call ‘slow learners.’ But they’re

keeping the Dealers and Pit Bosses employed, among others,

    so I guess it’s okay.

DISRESPECT shown towards President Obama has little to nothing to do with any of his administrations policies, and everything to do with the fact that he is a Black man.

Even these fake “black” folk taking every possible shot at President Obama are laughable. I could respect their opinions IF they were based on actual and true to heart policy disagreements, HOWEVER, MOST of these types had NEVER voiced any type of political opinions at all prior to President Obama being in office. It’s as if they adopt any measure of white displeasure and amplify it as if to get their meritorious manumission during Slave days.

These people trying to mask their race hate or Black male hate (in the instance of many “blacks” who pretend to be against his policies) is an exercise in futility. Most of the same people never said a peep over the past 10-15 years as loads of American jobs left this country under the willful permission of the Government leaders. Now all of a sudden all of these people want to stand up. Yea right.

You said a mouthful right there MistaO. I totally agree. The Mayor is most definitely grandstanding. Maybe the White House extended the invitation as sort of an “olive branch”. The mayor comes off looking like a disgruntled, petty employee…nothing more.

The mayor is full of crap! Obama’s statement was correct and he should of maintained his statement because his it was correct. Just like those in the mayor’s city, other Americans are suffering. They should not and I repeat should not be wasting their incomes that could be better spent on (food, gas, utilities) as opposed to the frivolities of life like gambling! If Obama had argued the opposite then Sandra would still be attacking the President. Get a grip and a life sandra!!!
