New Couple Alert: Monica and Maino Are Official!
R&B diva Monica and rapper Maino are officially a couple! The two cuddled together at Tiny and T.I.’s wedding in Miami on Saturday. Of course I broke the news of the new couple first on Sandrarose.com, but as usual, you kids have no confidence in your auntie when I tell you something!
Monica and her longtime boyfriend, rapper Rocko, broke up earlier this year. The couple have two beautiful children.

@Al – Here’s my honest answer. Are they happy? I don’t know. I said they MIGHT be happy. Stranger things have happened. It doesn’t make sense to be, but my point is that a lot of women put up with all types of men. They attract and like a certain type, and they sometimes stay in relationships because they are getting something out of it. If not, they would move on, and if they don’t know how to, they should get help. I guess the point I’m trying to make is that a lot of women put their children in some bad situation for their own selfish reasons. Maybe they are happy with those type of men. Some people were saying, “As long as a person is happy, it doesn’t matter.” The point I was trying to make is that is does matter when you have children what kind of people you bring around your children. If you read my initial post I said parents that are healthy (mentally, emotionally and physically) and happy. I pointed that back out to say, people that are in a healthy/happy state don’t choose and would not be happy in those kinds of relationships.
Are people still in them, of course. He.ll I was in an abusive relationship for far too long, from ages 14-20. Had you asked me was I happy, my foolish behind would have said emphatically, yes, I love him. I was the biggest azz on earth. I had come from an abusive home life and sought out what was familiar to me.
But now after counseling and being in a healthy mental state,and having the great one that I have now, I know better. When you know better you do better. Most people don’t even realize their relationships are unhealthy; they have nothing healthy to compare it too.
Just like if you eat store bought ice cream all the time, let’s say Hagaen Daaz, well you think that’s the joint and it is until you go down south and your grandmother makes you that the homemade kind with the fresh peaches that’s hand churned with that salt….Oh you know the difference.

If you read my initial post I said parents that are healthy (mentally, emotionally and physically) and happy. I pointed that back out to say, people that are in a healthy/happy state don’t choose and would not be happy in those kinds of relationships.
Are people still in them, of course. He.ll I was in an abusive relationship for far too long, from ages 14-20. Had you asked me was I happy, my foolish behind would have said emphatically, yes, I love him. I was the biggest azz on earth. I had come from an abusive home life and sought out what was familiar to me.
But now after counseling and being in a healthy mental state,and having the great one that I have now, I know better. When you know better you do better. Most people don’t even realize their relationships are unhealthy; they have nothing healthy to compare it too.
Just like if you eat store bought ice cream all the time, let’s say Hagaen Daaz, well you think that’s the joint and it is until you go down south and your grandmother makes you that the homemade kind with the fresh peaches that’s hand churned with that salt….Oh you know the difference.

@Al – I read your post, and I’m not disagreeing with you. Your further comments makes sense to me as well. I understand what you are saying. Even though you were in such a relationship, you eventually got help and moved on and that paid off because now you know better and you have a great man to show for it. God help those women out there that haven’t done the same. No judging.
That’s why I mentioned that the women that DON’T KNOW any better will get counseling. I’ve never been in an abusive relationship before, but let me ask you. Many women have family and friends telling them that the person they are with is no good. Isn’t that a wake-up call of some sort? I’m just asking. What is the turning point?
