A federal judge handed down a sentence of 11 months in federal prison to rapper T.I. today. T.I. will remain out on bond while he appeals the sentence.

According to TMZ.com, T.I. told the judge he needed help for drug addiction and begged not to be sent back to prison. We’re told one of the officers from Wednesday’s jumper incident testified on T.I.’s behalf.

Declaring that T.I. “has had about the limit of second chances,” an angry federal judge on Friday sentenced the rapper and movie actor to 11 more months in prison for violating his probation.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., asked the court for leniency.
“I screwed up,” said the rapper, wearing a three-piece gray suit. “I screwed up bigtime, and I’m sorry. I’m truly and sincerely sorry. I don’t want and I don’t need to use drugs anymore. I want them out of my life.”
“I think Mr. Harris had had about the limit of second chances,” Pannell said. “The worst thing is this case was an experiment. You certainly dumped a lot of smut on the whole experiment.”

If one decides to do drugs then it should be done in the privacy of one’s home, not while driving. I live in Hollywood, near the TI arrest and I dont want my life to end because someone decided to use drugs while driving and then making illegal turns. I still feel sorry for T.I., but at the same time he WAS on parole. He had been in jail numerous times before. He could have confined the drugs to his hotel room. Maybe it’ll take this for him to really learn his lesson and avoid a worse situation down the line. Maybe God wants him to change up his life for real. Maybe this lil jail stint is the only way to do it.
I guess I’m conflicted. I know that we have to face consequences for our actions, but I still feel sorry for T.I., his kids, his wife, and the rest of his family. Sometimes what the devil means for good…well, you know the rest.

He was on parole and got busted w/drugs. He violated his probation, is he not to be punished for it? He only got 11 months, many who go back to jail on a parole violation end up serving what they were orginally sentenced to + the new crime.
