Report: Ugly Betty Actor Kills Mother With Samurai Sword

According to online reports, an actor who had bit parts on TV’s Ugly Betty and the movie Step Up 3D, has allegedly murdered his own mother with a samurai sword while screaming Biblical passages.

According to People.com, a black woman identified as Yannick Brea, 55, was found dead in her Brooklyn apartment early this morning.

There are unconfirmed reports that Brea was beheaded.

A male was taken into custody and transported to Kings County Hospital, and while the NYPD is not yet releasing the alleged suspect’s name, WPIX-11 in New York reports he is Michael Brea, 31, and that he used a samurai sword to commit the crime.

Police confirmed to EW.com that the weapon used was a sword.

That was my second thought. We were just discussing mental illnesses in lecture class last night. The 2 generally have some of the same symptoms (chantings). Unfortunate nonetheless.

@Phrozen yeah, some of my homegirls graduated from ECU and they told me the girls were really young. My heart and prayers goes out to everyone involved, I can only imagine the pain they are dealing with.

Hey everybody. Imma come out and play a little since I am the only one left in the office due to the holiday.

At any rate, this is so sad…the mind is such a fragile thing and it is sad about the girls from ECU. It’s always sad when young people die.

I remember when I was at UNCC, and a chick jumped out of like the 50th floor from one of the dorms. it took a minute for ALL of us to get over that.

I’m thinking Schizophrenia with ODD Oppositional Defiance Disorder. These people have issues with authority and see them as a threat. They can’t take orders or have anyone oppose their views… Alot of them wind up killing direct authority figures mother, father, boss..

@leap wow, I didn’t hear about that, but while I was at Carolina we had quite a few tragedies. my senior year our SBP got murdered and I think my sophmore year is when the guy drove the JEEP in the middle of campus.

@Leap yeah, it was crazy. They believed it was a robbery because someone shot her in her head and they couldn’t find her wallet or car keys, if you look up Eve Carson it will tell more. I think it hit home for a lot of people that Carolina doesn’t exist in a bubble
