Vick Falls Flat After Obama Jinxes His Team With That Phone Call

Just a few days after U.S. President Barack Obama placed a phone call to Philadelphia Eagles’ owner Jeffrey Lurie praising Michael Vick, the Eagles suffered a stunning loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Rookie 3rd string quarterback Joe Webb led the Minnesota Vikings to a shocking 24-14 upset win over the hapless Eagles who were still soaring high after that come-from-behind win over the New York Giants last week.

In the first Tuesday night NFL game since 1946, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick fell flat on his face as he was sacked six times by the Vikings’ marauding defense.

Subbing for the injured Brett Favre, Webb threw for 195 yards and ran for a touchdown against the Eagles (10-5).

Vick threw for 263 yards and ran for two touchdowns last night, but it wasn’t enough as the Vikings (6-9) rolled over him.

Vikings RB Adrian Peterson ran for 118 yards and a TD as the Vikings snapped the Eagles’ three-game winning streak.

Next up for the Eagles is the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Jan. 2. If Obama calls again, maybe Lurie shouldn’t answer the phone.

    I hope he doesn’t play next week… there locked in at #3 Win or lose. so effectively they get 2 easy weeks…next week they need to give Vick the day of vs the Cowboys…and then have him fresh vs the Rams in the 1st round.

    :yes:
    Eli has some solid numbers and has never really had a stellar receiving crew. The brief time frame he had Plaxico, they win the Super Bowl. Even with bad run support and terrible recievers he puts up good numbers.

    You are right, I DID mess up tho because I forgot to put Tony Romo over him too. So Vick is no better than 11th.

Win 3 games, next game will be a loss. Happened here. Eagles won their previous 3 games then lost last nite to the Vikings. Before that they lost to the Bears. Fits the theory perfectly. Recall the ’72 Dolphins were the only team that went 17-0 back in the day.

    ——————————————–
    The only legitimate arguement that you have is Brady. Vick has become just as accurate with the pass as ALL of the mentioned QBs, PLUS Vick is the only one to run a 4.2.

    “Team Situation” – Have you watched Vick’s oline? Vick has more sacks that all the QBs that you listed….and if he couldnt run a 4.2, the number of sacks would be a LOT more.

    “Coaching” – So Andy Reid has a great back in McCoy but decides to pass all damn day…gets kinda predictable. But I guess you don’t see that as a problem.

    “Team’s performance without Vick”
    Game 1 – Vick brings the team within 7 in the 2nd half
    Game 4 – lost to Redskins, a .400 team
    Game 5 – win over the 49ers, a .333 team
    Game 6 – only solid win for your argument against ATL
    Game 7 – lost to Titans, a .400 team

    :claps: <<<<<<sarcasm

    The O-line isn't the problem for Vick being sacked so often, it's because he doesn't make quick decisions or get rid of the ball. He RELIES on that 4.2 speed and that's why he will lose, AGAIN, in the playoffs. Wait, isn't that why he got injured AGAIN last night?????? Yes, yes it is.

    True to every one of the games that you mentioned without Vick. And let's take a DEEPER look, Kolb played between GOOD and GREAT in those games and the reason Kolb was in was because Vick GOT HIMSELF INJURED.

    Any coach that can get to the Super Bowl with McNabb and T.O. on the same team HAS to be able to coach so that isn't the problem. The bottom line is the Eagles WITH VICK are no better than the Eagles with Donovan "Broad Smile" McNabb. A speed bump in the playoffs.

    Rothlissburger was ACCUSED of rape, like a plethora of athletes before him (see below), but has never been convicted (or even officially charged).

    Juwan Howard
    Michael Irvin
    Jerome Bettis
    Mike Tyson
    Peyton Manning (betcha you ain’t know bout dis one)
    Kobe Bryant
    Kevin Garnett (betcha you ain’t know bout dis one)

    :think: This is just off the top of my head…

    <<<<<<sarcasm

    ————————————-
    And Brady does not make quick decisions to get rid of the ball either. Brady is sitting in the pocket for a good :15 before he can even THINK about pressure.

    At the beginning of the season, Kolb was the starter and despite Vick balling in games 1-3 Kolb was still recognized as the starter as soon as he got healthy. You are dead wrong. Vick would still be running that wildcard bull**** it Kolb was never hurt.

    McNabb has had good numbers for the majority of his career so I dont think your last argument makes any sense.

    Brady MAY be able to sit in the pocket for 15 seconds, but he never does because the ball is already gone by then. Drew Breeze and Ben Rothlissburger don’t have the best O-lines either, yet they aren’t sacked as often and their teams have comparable if not better records. :shrugs:

    Furthermore, Kolb (whose 40 yard dash is measured by a calendar) isn’t sacked as often as Vick and he is behind the EXACT SAME O-LINE. :shrugs: I’m sorry, but the team was 11-5 last year, and will be the same this year (that’s ASSUMING they win their last game).

    If you believe for one iota of a second that Donovan “Kia” McNabb is good by any measure then I guess I shouldn’t be surprised for your affinity for Vick. Is like McNabb 2.0. Donovan is a born loser. That’s all he will ever be. Some of his stats have been decent over the years, but would YOU want him in a “must win game?” Yeah…. I wouldn’t either. Same for Vick. :shrugs:

    —————————————————–
    Every QB you named has a better Oline than Vick. If you divide the touches/sack you will find the following:

    Peyton = 1 sack per 43 touches
    Eli = 1 sack per 32 touches
    Brees = 1 sack per 28 touches
    Brady = 1 sack per 19 touches
    Rodgers = 1 sack per 15 touches
    Big Ben = 1 sack per 11 touches
    Vick = 1 sack per 11 touches

    The only Oline that compares is Big Ben’s. But according to your theory, you judge by how the team does WITHOUT the star QB. Well, Ben’s team is 3-1 w/o Ben, while the Eagles are 2-3 w/o Vick as the starter.

    If you watched the Eagles game, you would see that Kolb does checkdowns all day. And pressure is the dude’s kryptonite.

    Out of 10 years of playtime, McNabb has went to the playoffs 7x. If you wanna say he flakes on big games then fine, BUT do note that McNabb has only had 2 losing seasons: (1) 2005 where he was hurt for 6 games and (2) 2010 – if you dont know the BS surrounding that DC team than you dont watch football. He is not a scrub.
