Celebs Out & About: Nicki Minaj and Sean Combs in London
Rapper Nicki Minaj, 26, was mobbed by delirious “Barbies” as she arrived at London’s Heathrow Airport early this morning. I’m not sure why she’s visiting my place of birth. Nicki had tweeted her flight details and well over 100 girls were waiting in the terminal when she landed. Nicki’s debut album, Pink Friday, has sold over a million copies since it’s release in November.
Music mogul Sean “Puffy” Combs, 42, is also in London (he arrived yesterday) to promote his dead in the water album, Last Train To Paris. Sean was seen leaving London’s ITV studios today.

What He Said: Lamar Odom On Women and Responsibility
Khloe Kardashian is one lucky woman! Check out what her hubby, Lakers star Lamar Odom, said about marriage and responsibility in his interview in the February 2011 issue of Playboy magazine. I’m impressed!:
On how marrying Khloé has changed him:
“Men, most of the time our goal is to have what we want when it comes to women… Most men like more than one woman. A lot of them would not want to admit that because that might not be cool, right? Most people don’t want to get married. Being married, that’s a responsibility. I always used to tell that to women. I don’t want a girlfriend because that means I’ve got a responsibility. I have a responsibility to call you. I have a responsibility not to be with another woman. I have a responsibility to be there on time when you need me. With her I was like, If I do what I normally do, I’m going to lose her. And if I lose her, I think it’s going to hurt a lot. Right then and there I knew. We were together every day.”
On whether it was true that he withheld sex until they were married:
“I tried to. I didn’t know why I wanted to wait. We came together and knew what we wanted from each other really early, and everything we did felt good, from a hug to a kiss. Then there was a time when I just tried to be a gentleman about the whole situation. I was accepted by her family. She stayed at my place and vice versa. I thought, We’re going to step back for a second. Keep it classy.”
How To Snag a True Baller
This past weekend I ran into so many ballers in Atlanta. I guess I just happened to be in the right places at the right times.
A few of the ballers I can’t even name because they roll so quietly in the ATL. You would never know these men were ballin’ unless you saw them step out of their Bentley’s or Phantoms — or unless you have a good eye for fine timepieces.
One of the men — who happens to be a friend of mine — knows that I love fine watches. So he brought out his impressive collection of timepieces. I marveled at the APs (Audemars Piguet) and Hublot’s he had in just one case of his large collection (pictured at right).
AP and Hublot are the favored watches of many wealthy stars such as T.I., Jay Z and LeBron James, among others. My friend’s watch collection also contains several pieces from the Aximum line, which is owned by every celebrity and ball player in the world! His collection ranges from $50,000 to well over $200,000 for just one timepiece!
You might recognize his Aximum King Pro (pictured up top) as the same timepiece that Big Poppa purchased for Kim Zolciak on Real Housewives of Atlanta (Kim’s watch is rose gold). The Aximum showroom is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood in Buckhead. You need an appointment just to view their timepieces.
Visit the Aximum website here.
Apart from the cars he drives, you would never know he had a million dollar watch collection just by looking at him. His clothing is nondescript (Polo button downs, t-shirts, jeans and white sneakers) — and he moves without an entourage.

Lil Wayne Covers Rolling Stone
Lil Wayne is featured on Rolling Stone magazine’s February 2011 issue, which is being billed as his first interview since his release from prison last November.
Naturally, the pint-sized, 28-year-old rapper lied about his time at Riker’s Island, which was mostly spent in solitary or in special housing to protect him from the other inmates.
I’d bust a nigga’s ass at Uno,” he told writer Josh Eells. “We gamble for phone time. I’d take nigga’s commissary: Lemme get them cookies, lemme get them chips, get that soup.” Yeah, right Weezy.
The most interesting excerpt from the interview was Weezy admitting he was butt hurt because other celebrities ignored him in public (maybe he should stay out of prison?):
When Wayne sat court-side at a recent Miami Heat/New Orleans Hornets game he was upset that Lebron James and Dwayne Wade never came over to talk to him. “Them niggas never speak to a nigga,” he says. “They don’t chuck me the deuce or nothing. Nigga spent all that money on them fucking tickets… Come holla at me. We sit right by them little bitch-ass niggas. At least come ask me why I’m not rooting for you.”
The tattoo artist who did this to Wayne’s body should be brought up on mutilation charges. There are laws in place to protect the mentally retarded from being taken advantage of.
Sean Combs: “Do Better, Obama”
Music mogul Sean Combs, 42, is featured on the Source magazine’s Feb/March 2011 cover. Normally, I wouldn’t waste your time with this, but what “Puffy” had to say about the United State’s first biracial president (that we know of) piqued my interest.
Like most Kool Aid drinkers who voted for Barack Obama because he was half black, Sean has become disillusioned with the president and his administration’s policies so far. “I love the president like most of us. [But] I just want the president to do better,” he said.
Source: What’s your assessment of President Obama thus far?
Diddy: “I love the president like most of us. I just want the president to do better. There’s a difference between us voting for somebody and us believing in somebody. He’s the person that we believed in so I pray night and day that he understands how God ordained his presidency. I feel there was a promise made to God to look after people that was less fortunate, and [many] of those people are African-American…”
Wow. That’s deep. One African American narcissist going after the throat of another narcissist in such a public manner is unprecedented. The issue hits newsstands January 25th.

BREAKING: Monica and Shannon Brown Are Married
The word is out: R&B Diva Monica and NBA star Shannon Brown are man and wife.
The rumors have been swirling for two months that Mo and Shannon got married prior to her moving in with her fiance in LA in November. The marriage took place in front of the couple’s parents.
Over the weekend, a reader emailed me to say that Monica went into the Clayton County office 2 weeks ago to change her last name to Brown.
Loyal reader Sheena wrote:
I heard recently thru a friend that Monica is married and keeping things hush! She had her name change recently @ the dmv in clayton county. My friend states since November. Congrats to Monica if this is true.
Normally, I would call my good friend, Monica, and ask her to confirm the rumors myself, but I decided to do what other bloggers stopped doing — research the rumors myself.
The rumors are true: Monica and Shannon Brown are indeed married. An official with the NBA also confirmed the marriage, which took place in Los Angeles on November 22, 2010.
A friend of Shannon Brown’s says he is relieved that the news is out because he respects his wife and he has been wearing his wedding band recently. The friend said Shannon and Monica plan to wed officially in front of family and friends (again) in Los Angeles in June.
Congrats to the happy couple!
