R.I.P. Nate Dogg (1969-2011)

Hip-hop star Nate Dogg, 41, has reportedly passed away after suffering from health issues for several years. Long Beach’s Press Telegram was first to report the Long Beach native’s death.
While no details have been released as to how the smooth singer — real name Nathaniel Hale — died, it has been reported he suffered strokes in both 2007 and 2008.
Nate Dogg was a collaborator with hip-hop megastars including Eminem and Dr. Dre, and he is a founding member of the hip-hop group 213 with Snoop Dogg and Warren G.
Just last week, Warren G tweeted that Nate Dogg was receiving treatment. “For those that dont know awhile back nate had 2 strokes he is in therapy thanks again for your support,” he tweeted.

@Brown: No, thank goodness!! I would rather focus on his life and the memories created. No more suffering and definitely no more pain. In that case (may sound eerie), I am glad he passed away. I can’t stand to see or hear about someone suffering. And that’s what was going on with my grand daddy; his bodily systems were slowly shutting down. I’ll miss his collard greens but he’s where he belongs, in a better place.

I love you dear! RIP your grandpa. I totally understand about being a little glad he’s at rest because you hated seeing him suffer. I felt the same way when my grandma died after a 6 month battle with pancreatic cancer. I lived with her the entire time, and when she died, I smiled and never shed a tear because I was happy she was at peace again.
I hope your grandma is able to focus on the good memories and that everybody comes through to support her. I’ll keep you and your fam in my

I think it truly depends on the person who died, the circumstances and the people organizing the funeral. My uncle who died the day before my 18th bday had th best funeral EVER! Nothing but Marvin, Chaka. Diana, Michael, Patti and nem through his entire funeral!!
It was like a party! THAT’S how you’re supposed to send somebody “home.” His friends got up there and shared funny azz stories and jokes about him, they cried a bit, but they kept it moving. Great funeral!

I forgot who sang it but the song goes like “I can feel, the presence of the Lord and I’m gonna get my blessing right now” they sang that at my best friend’s mom’s service and we were jammin. That was probably the best homegoing service that I’ve ever attended. Really a celebration of life.

My immediate family doesn’t do that opening the casket during the service. If you didn’t go by to interview(that’s what my granny calls it) the body before then, too bad.
But my cousin’s did that last yr for their Mom and my Aunt fell out. None of the men came to help pick her up. It was me, my Mom, and another aunt trying to carry her to her seat.
Not to mention it was only 6 inches between the casket and the bench. I just knew that casket was about to get flipped over.

@Alex: I was in Strokers two weeks ago. It’s not at all what it used to to be. Once upon a time, only flawless women danced there. I almost punched her that day. I called her stupid and some other things as a Supervisor I shouldnt have said but that was crazy for her to say right after that lady lost her husband
