Kelly Rowland Performs Motivation Live on the 2011 BET Awards
Kelly Rowland hammered the final nail into Beyonce’s coffin tonight with her breathtaking perfomance on the 2011 BET Awards at the Shrine auditorium in Los Angeles Sunday night. Kelly made everyone forget that her former bandmate was supposed to skype her performance from Glastonbury in the UK. Kelly’s live performance of her international hit “Motivation” with Trey Songz had the audience fanning themselves and begging for more!

I agree Binki… Kelly still killed it without being naked. I would have liked her to wear something different, but at the end of the day that does not matter, if you have stage presence. For example, Rihanna was dressed in lingerie and moving all sexy and freaky @ the Billboards however, her dry ass performance still fell short! Just cause you naked don’t mean you sexy! My point is: I enjoyed Kelly’s performance even though she was fully clothed… I still felt the sexiness! #TEAMKELLY Anyway, back to Lurk Mode!

Kelly had a GREAT performance last night! Looking forward to watching it over and over again on my DVR after work today. Bey’s performance was…okay (and that’s being NICE)…and don’t get me wrong I’m a fan…I was just expecting her to give us MORE! That is nothing short than one of your pearliest hyperbole of the year thus far. All her performance showed is that she might just be able to finally translate the potential she showed during her DC’s days into stardom and perhaps co-exist with Beyonce. Because as far as pedigree goes, she has “almost” nothing as a solo artist, be it in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australasia or the USA compared to her former bandmate.
Alicia was there because they are re-issuing her 1st album Songs IN A Minor, tomorrow. It’s a 10yr collectors edition….
Hate on Beyonce all u want, but she was headliner @ the Gladstonbury, sent video & had the crowd say high,, the Queen aint going nowhere,,, by the way Kelly did good, but it take more than 1 performance & 1 hit
So no one is going to talk about how AWFUL Trey Songz sounded? I mean, this is the second year in a row that he has completely bombed at the BET awards.
I already thought that this man couldn’t sing all that great but NOW, he just plain sucks live. Smh.
As for Miss Kelly, I think she shocked everyone. I don’t think anyone really knew what to expect from her. She slayed her performance and definitely impressed me!!!

Mornin y’all!! I wasn’t home 2 watch the BET Awards but seeing Kelly’s performance here reminded me of Janet Jackson’s “I Get So Lonely” video She KILT the dancing. She was clearly lip synching but smart enuff to do so with a pre recorded track different from the one they play on the radio. Very clever indeed to have that summer hat sewn on her head and hold the mic in a way so folks wouldn’t see that she wasn’t singing live…even though you can tell during some parts. In any case, Kelly has come a verrrrry long way. But it will take waaaaay more than that to bury Bey, in my opinion.

I guess I’m an old bitty beause I am not impressed nor did I watch the ceremony to begin with. I will however look for last night’s premiere episode of ‘True Blood’ since I messed it running errands…..
I am a Beyonce fan and I MUST confess…I like Kelly’s performance a lot better than Beyonce’s. Kelly has grown as a solo artist. Her performance showed her confidence has reached its plateau. I’m not a fan of the song Motivation either but she did her thing last night. I have to give credit when its due.
Trey was so busy trying to be sexy that he couldn’t concentrate on his voice (sounding like Kermit the frog a few times) I like his lil sexy azz though.
I think Kevin Hart did an OK job hosting. I loved the Real House Husband skits! Now that was FUNNY!
It was VERY disrespectful of CeeLo to curse during Ms. Patti’s tribute…have he no respect for her? There was far too much cussing for me going on.
Overall the show was entertaining and long azz hail.

Come on Sandra…the only reason Kelly’s performance received such praise is because the bar was set so low. It’s like being super hungry and eating whatever’s available although it wouldn’t be your 1st choice otherwise??? Yeah, that’s what it was like….LOL! I really don’t like the song, just sounds like a cat in heat. I really enjoyed Bey’s performance, I love that song “Best You Never Had” as well! Kelly is just not as great of a performer as Beyonce’. Kelly totally ripped Janet’s ‘I Get Lonely’ live performance, which I believe was on the BET awards also about 12 years ago. From the song’s tempo, hat, outfit, and the bra reveal at the end. It was hot, but alas, it was not original.

For real, Kelly did an excellent job. People are saying you shouldn’t compare her to Beyonce, but people have been comparing the two since they went solo. The reality is, Kelly finally, finally actually felt confident and that MOTIVATED her to really let her hair down. I’m guessing she wasn’t that confident in the past. Kelly lip syncing performance was on point! I loved it!!! But there were no nails nailed in anyones coffin Beyonce’s especially. There is no way you can even compare the two performances.
