Seattle Mariners star outfielder Gregory Halman was stabbed to death by his brother in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, early this morning. Halman’s girlfriend called police to his home around 5:40 a.m. this morning. Officers found the 24-year-old star bleeding from his wounds.
Halman was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His brother, Jason Halman (inset), was arrested at the house, according to a police spokesperson.
“A 24-year-old died this morning in a stabbing and we have arrested the 22-year-old brother of the victim,” said Rotterdam sopkesperson Patricia Wessels.
“From what we have learned so far there was an argument between the two brothers over loud music being played.”
Gregory Halman signed with a Dutch baseball team when he was only 16. A year later, he moved to the U.S. after signing with the Seattle Mariners.
His brother, Jason, also played professional baseball in the Netherlands where the brothers are from.
