LeToya Luckett

LeToya Luckett is engaged to a Texas businessman less than a year after she divorced her last husband.

The former Destiny's Child backup dancer took her boyfriend, Tommicus Walker, out to dinner for a surprise birthday party. But he surprised her by proposing marriage.

Instead of her saying, "It's too soon. Let's get to know each other better," she rushed to Instagram.com to post a photo of her engagement ring on Wednesday. Is this the behavior of a mature woman?

"Yes yeeeesssss" on his Burfday!! #issaengagement #GodShowedout #HesaGoodManSavanah #LoveWins #8/16/17"

LeToya, 36, was previously married to Rob Hill, Sr. She currently stars in OWn Network's Greenleaf as Mrs. Rochelle Cross.

  • Platoon

    I'm 30. It's alright love.

I wish I had a wife. One day.

Just keep your nose in the Tanak and The Most High will send you someone

  • starbright9449

Whats wrong with marrying a woman over 30? I have been noticing a lot of men 42-55 with women in their 20s! I like older men but it seems like this is the new 'thing' now.

  • starbright9449

Maybe her and her husband were separated.

  • kekeb

Stop hating!!! Congratulations. She's cute and seems clean and wholesome. God bless

  • stav

Sorry, but there is nothing "new" about men that age (42-55) being with young women in their 20's.

  • HIS4EVA

no doubt, just was wondering if my spring chicken days was up. but then again these young girls cant do much but twerk

  • kekeb

U want a wife and can't find one??? Where u from? Come to Atlanta and go to any black church. . . Especially if u join the singles ministry ????

The former Destiny’s Child backup dancer took her boyfriend, Tommicus Walker, out to dinner for a surpass birthday party. But he surprised her by proposing marriage.......

You are out of order, ma'am.

  • Lady Elle

    Aww...let her live...congrats!

  • Lisa daniels

Instead of her saying, “It’s too soon. Let’s get to know each other better,” she rushed to Instagram.com to post a photo of her engagement ring on Wednesday. Is this the behavior of a mature woman?....

Stop it, you people how have dated and shacked on for decades getting to know one another and if they do get married the marriage doesn't last long. You remember that story about that guy who committed suicide the night he married his baby mama and they had like 4 or 5 kids. When you know, you know and when you don't you don't.

  • Guess Who

...she has a weird face. Botox, maybe? If that is her baby girl, she is adorbs!

  • HIS4EVA

8tommicus walker- yea thats sum texas shat!

  • hottlanta

Ain't mad at her. At least she is divorced from her other husband. He asked to marry her, she didn't ask to marry him. Go for it and wish yall the best. Tooooo many women right now WAITING and letting life pass them by taking relationship advice from other people instead of following their own advice. GO LADY GO!!!!! She loved him enuf to give him a surprise birthday party and he loved her enuf to surprise her with a ring. Love gets no better than that. I like it because he has a job and she doesn't have to employ him as her manager to pay him to take care of her.

  • Lisa daniels

I was talking about that backup dancer comment

  • Fated4greatness

The shade in this post is hilarious! Letoya was not a backup dancer for Destiny's chirren. She was my favorite. She can actually sing and act. Her music is so underrated! Black love wins! Congrats LeToya!!

  • hottlanta

She never complained about serial marrier Steve Harvey on his number sequence of wives.

  • Tena

Well maybe the second time is a charm! Congrats to the couple, they seem so happy. He has a beautiful daughter btw.

  • HIS4EVA

no i know but when u wrote his name out. i died all over again! everything big n texas. even the names

  • Isignedup4this

I use to think her face was a little off but I've never seen anyone turn out so beautifully after a hair cut. Too many hide behind weave and even long real hair just b/c. Some of us are hiding true beauty all for length.

The Fake Christain part is true tho for her and a majority of black folks. According to the bible a woman can't divorce her husband and a man can only divorce his wife if she commit fornication.

  • You Could Never

Pissed me smooth off girl. Like how dare anyone question her love of her God? I was like you know what?

  • NaeNay

True Story: I have a set of friends who were high school sweethearts and married at the age of 25 After 10 years of dating. They didn't have kids and everyone praised them for doing it right and in order. Guess how long they stayed married? A little over a year!

  • SouthernGirlAZWorld

I honestly don't believe there is a time frame to get married. Especially for the mature folks who have lived life and are at a point where we know what we want out of life. We tend to make better decisions.

  • SouthernGirlAZWorld

Girl I would be pissed as well....people
    Man

  • hottlanta

I am still laughing how women bought into his 90 day rule to have sex when he married his 3rd wife less than 90 days after his 2nd divorce.

  • You Could Never

    It was probably your ass

  • hottlanta

Please women ain't marry men after a certain age because ain't nobody trying to live the rest of their lives with saggy/dusty balls and men breasts with nipples the size of a quarter.

  • the guest

Congratulations to the beautiful couple. Ms. Luckett found a gorgeous marriage minded man and may they be blessed with a long happy marriage. Says a lot about him that he gifted her on his birthday.

    Blessings abound.

  • SouthernGirlAZWorld

If you read further on in the Bible you would read where when Jesus died we were no longer held under law but now saved by Grace. Meaning such laws as you mentioned above no longer applies. But no God doesn't like divorces but he allows them and we are no longer condemned.

  • E-VannaRootsAllEvil

    That sound like my sister

  • mzwhang90210

    Vowel? Wait...what?

  • mzwhang90210

I'm still laughing at how Steve called himself being "erotic" in those (leaked) emails to his side hoe.
    Dude sounded corny as HAIL!

  • hottlanta

Each of us as a different path to love. I remember talking to this lady on how she met her husband. She said we met when she was out, had sex the same day/got married the same week on Friday and been married for 25 years until he died. She said she wouldn't have changed a thing. I said you go girl. I said I bet folk talked about yall like a dog pulling straws for yall to get divorced quicker than the one's who did it the right way according to society's rules. She say they divorced quicker than they did. When you know you know.

  • NovemberFling

I'll never understand people like Latoya. They always find themselves wondering why their relationships never seem to last or work out. Uh....maybe getting to know yourself first would probably help. Working through your own issues first before entering a relationship would help. Jody's mama said it best " if you don't have nothing to give yourself how you gonna have something to give that man?" So many clueless broken people out here trying to love others when they haven't mastered the art of loving themselves.

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

    Auto correct.

  • Scromes1212

    Let me guess, you single?

  • hottlanta

Had to go back and show this to the love naysayers putting her on a love time clock. I was looking at Geoffrey Holder and his wife. They met and he proposed to her within 4 days. A month later she said yes and they were married for 47 years. Listen how they talk of their love. You can date and be engaged for a year or more and still get divorced. Nothing is foolproof. I am glad she is taking another chance at love.

  • hottlanta

Are those the one's that his 2nd wife held up with the FedEx envelope.

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

I hear from insiders that she has an attitude problem. He's crazy to marry a woman who's pushing 40 with a history of failed relationships.

  • hottlanta

Yep that verbiage is kinna long. Why do people think that they will never break up with someone. Had you not broken up with your previous partner you will not be with the one you are with.

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

"Whats wrong with marrying a woman over 30?"
    ^^^^^
It's fine to marry a woman over 30 if companionship is all a man seeks. But God put man on earth to procreate and multiply with women of child birthing age. That means 30 and younger.

  • PlayerP

I feel the same way...the neighbors that lived across the street from us growing up have a similar story. They met one week before the man was set to leave for medical school on the east coast. They talked on the phone and wrote each other for a month. After that month he called her and said he couldn't live without her. They were married for over 60 years. When I met them they still seemed very much in love.
The flip to that, I have a cousin who was with a woman for seven years before they got married. They were always together and I used to think she was already part of the family. They finally got married and divorced in less than a year.

  • morenYAHdelsur

Her only mistake is being so public.

In some instances I'm sure time can play a factor. All of my great aunts and uncles courtships were between 6 weeks and 3 months and they have been married for 50 years +

  • Bonita

Women always wanna involve their "God" in something he usually has no parts in. I'm sure she thought her "God" "showed out" and sent the last man she's now divorced from too.

  • hottlanta

The reason our relationships are all messed up is that we let toooooo many people in to try to tell us when and how to love. Everyone is now an internet Dr. Phil relationship expert now.

  • You Could Never

Maybe it was your ass who called her a fake Christian this morning. The nerve.

  • Ryan

she must be referring to the square-shaped Mexicans who shoot out four kids in three years and get stuck cause the ones I've come across were anything BUT submissive ?

  • Bonita

You're quoting verses from your slave masters bible to the wrong one sweetie.

  • Noirluv45

Kings while they molest their children and beat the crap out of their "submissive" slaves. My family member used to be a locum doctor in East L.A., and she had some stories to tell.

  • You Could Never

I also quoted Lauryn Hill. Whose slave master is she? It doesn't matter wtf I quoted. You are still fulla misguided judgements for no reason. Worry about you and your God.

  • Lisa daniels

    Am just SMH

  • Noirluv45

Lol @ square shaped! I know that's right.

  • Lisa daniels

    Boom there it is

  • Bonita

You're so original. lol I think you mean who is her slave master. You're quite the stan. Letoya, Lauryn . . . keep stanning and paying their bills girl. They don't know you from a fly on a horse's ass, but keep on stanning girl. You're good at it!

  • Bonita

You've been stalking this article all day for you to accuse me of a comment that someone else made this morning. Who's your employer so that I can let them know you're falsifying the hours on your timesheet? That's grounds for termination.

  • Noirluv45

She was my favorite too. I always thought she was the prettiest of them all. I agree that her voice is underrated.

  • Jahnée Gill Mr.Eddie Murphy

You're a man? For real? You in NY? I don't meet many men that have the spirit of truth here. I just assume everyone here's a woman. Minus the gay dudes and the handful of straight dudes here.

  • Jahnée Gill Mr.Eddie Murphy

Don't you ever grow tired of cooning? You praise the white smuts posted here, yet always have something slick to say towards black women.

  • You Could Never

I don't even like LeToya and her thin ass edges and voice. Folks are plain old haters and I'm tired of it. Worry about whatever it is yall need to worry about in your own damn life and black world issues. Who the hell is this girl bothering?

  • James Hudson

Letoya was always my fav in the OG DC & I salute black love, hope they live a blessed & happy life.

  • Noirluv45

Sandra, what about women who can't have children? Should they remain single the rest of their lives? What about the men who don't want children? I think your approach is kinda narrow. I understand the Bible says to be fruitful and multiply, but there are some women that are barren, as you very well know.

  • ER

I wish people would stop placing their happy moments on social media it just allows miserable ass people that are unhappy with their own shitty lives to shit on others happiness.. Black love is a beautiful thing I wish them a blessed union!!!

"A part of me wants to leave but a part of me wants to be here with you" @Torn. Letoya DID that. "Former backup dancer"? Number 1 Platinum album.

  • Bonita

I don't think you're built for the comments section of gossip blogs. The comments get you too angry. I'd suggest you just read the articles and skip the comments, cause it's a cold world around these parts.

  • Benjamin

Big congrats! That feeling of finding the love of your life is incomparable. I'm so happy for her.

  • Pamela

    Wendy Williams?

  • Faithz

Good for her, you go girl.

  • leapyearpisces

Right. Don't give people the opportunity to send negative vibes towards your blessing. I said it a million times, I don't have any social media. Sad to say it, folks don't mean you no good these days. They be PRAYING against your blessings. At the end of the day, chances are the people she really care about, and who care about her were there to witness the wonderful moment, FIRSTHAND because they were THERE.

  • Desiree Edwards

  • Sojourner’s Truth

  • NicoleZee

Dang Auntie Sandra, please give the rest of us some hope, or maybe not??? LOL! I'm 34 and single, moody too, does that mean I should give up on finding love??? Who knows these days. I've had a lot of messed up relationships and situations too. I guess no one knows if they'll find love until it happens. I still believe in love though, but I don't think it's meant for everybody. I think it's important to focus on improving yourself as much as possible, find a hobby, live life, but don't obsess about finding someone because it will drive you completely nuts! I think I'm too old for marriage or any more children (I have one little boy, almost 2) but people tell me otherwise, so we'll see :)!

  • Cici

Oh wow ok. I guess she may have been keeping it under wraps.

  • Kirenee

    Tell me about it!

  • Bonita

No wonder you're so angry! I'd be angry too if I'd wasted the past 10 years of my life on a gossip site inserting unsolicited comments on other people's threads. Do you realize how pathetic that sounds? The amount of time you've spent harassing other people's comments on this blog for free, you could have a M.S., a J.D., a PH.D., be fluent in multiple languages . . . what a waste of life.

  • On the radar….

    Congrats!

  • NovemberFling

    K cool.

  • NovemberFling

Thank you so much. Gotta love me first before I even try to love another man. I owe it to myself not to cheat myself out of loving and respecting me and if that means wearing the single status, I will gladly do so for however long it takes ya know? I don't believe in jumping in and out of relationships just to say I got a man. Thank God I saw the GOOD in goodbye with the abusive loser I was with.

  • 88

That's false we are no longer under the law of Sacrafice we are still under the laws of God and that includes the laws of marriage which are reestablish by Christ in Matthew Chapter 19.

Yup. The singles ministry, a.k.a. the "not trying to be single" ministry.

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

Well, considering that us black folk have one of the lowest marriage rates of any demographic (for a lot of reasons), I'm always happy to see two black people getting married to each other. I cant hate on that. Black love & marriage is a beautiful thing.

    Congrats!

  • Ajavee

    Beautiful thanks for posting.

  • hottlanta

Who post their relationship on the internet more than Ciara and Russell even on their wedding night saying ,"we just had sex" which I found disgusting. Now that was toooooo much information. They trying to be the couple of the year. It is just a ring. At least she wasn't on her saying I am waiting to have sex before I get married, etc, etc. We knew nothing about him before she got the ring. I rather short happiness than long time rachetness. No matter where I am in life happy or unhappy I can always be happy for someone else. If your love is strong someone else misery can't do a dayum thing to break it up.

  • Noirluv45

I love it. Her and Rob didn't work out, so she moved on.... Not everyone has to wait a lifetime before moving on. Rob may have been SO wrong for her, that she knew right away who she wanted! Maybe her and this guy had a history together. Congrats.

  • SouthernGirlAZWorld

Me too Karen. I've been married and divorced. We were married 9 months after dating and stayed married for 9 years. In that case yes, I believe we should of waited. I was a few years older than he was and we were both military trying to figure our selves out. There were many nights prior to our nuptials that I questioned the union. I knew it was too soon but did it anyway. Two beautiful children were produced from our love so I regret nothing!

I didn't know her and the last guy made it to the altar.

I saw the video montage of her and this guy on IG. Their body language seemed very genuine. It looks like they're in love. I hope that is the case. I'm happy for them! #loverocks

Ok, me being a gay man...I do not see what HETERO women see in background dancers. Most of them are gay/bi. I mean if you're ok with dating or marrying a gay/bi then by all means, DO YOU!!!

sometimes sandra it doesn't take all of that...my parter was supposed to be a one night thing...i'd seen him in the clubs...for about 2 years...i was too shy to ever say anything..i don't really drink..and the one night I did ..i was able to say hello....we've been together 10years now....i felt I just knew...he wasn't like anyone I'd ever dated.

Let the girl have what she wants. She lives in the shadow of Beyonce by no fault of her own and in my view she was the better vocalist. It had to be devastating to be ousted from a group that went on to make millions without her. I think she just wants more out of life and to be stable and happy. She's still doing okay for herself but she deserves major success.
I wish her happiness however I do think she should stay engaged for a while and definitely not rush into anything.

she kinds of remind me of a whitney houston when she puts her hands on her hip and caves her chest in
