Migos

Offset and his brethren Takeoff and Quavo of rap group Migos are so terrified for their lives that they've hired Secret Service level security to protect them during the big NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.

Offset's fiancée, rapper Cardi B, angered members of the Crips street gang with an Instagram.com posts several weeks ago.

Cardi, who was born Belcalis Almanzar, posted a photo of herself wearing a blue fur coat. In the photo caption, the self-professed Bloods gang member wrote: "I hate flue, but this coat was too poppin'."

"Flue" -- a merging of the words "f-ck" and "blue" -- is considered an insult to Crips gang members who drop the letter 'B' from their language.

After the backlash from Crips members online, Cardi deleted the caption and the comments but the image is still on her Instagram feed.

Migos held an autograph signing at a L.A. store on Thursday afternoon. According to TMZ, the group rolled up in an alley behind the store. Their massive security detail blocked entry on both sides of the alley. The burly security guards also stood guard at the front and back entrances.

The fearsome-looking security guards left seasoned paparazzi weighing their options after they were blocked from entering the store.

One top celebrity photographer said that IF Cardi B is in Los Angeles she is keeping a low profile.

Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. were shot and killed by rival gangs on the west coast.

The Migos don't want to be next.

  • Rachel

Cardi tried to be internet gang affiliated, and it backfired. Them real life goons got her and Migos shook. Someone should send her a link to the la times homicide report if she thinks it’s just a game.

  • Ms.Vanilla

Just stay home and there won't be a need for security. I can't believe this is even a "thing". I'm glad I'm not about that life.

  • Rayne

Honestly I can see a RIP in this. Ain’t no good in this here baby.

  • Zeta Phi Beta 1920

    All Foolishness.

  • PhillyFacts

Cardi’s mouth is a liability, it was all cute and funny just a week ago.

  • Vegas1989

See she wants to be about that life and took it back....SMH...But in her Kindergarten Rap Line she states, "I wear blood shoes, and make money moves"....Oh well....She started it something that she can't take back..

  • Knocked Kneed and Pigeon Toed

Exactly. Im from Cali and the Watts is still as bad as it was 20 years ago.

  • SweetTEE

These rappers gon get enough of trying to be fake gang affiliated for street credit. I guess she didnt hear how the gangster disciples had rick ross scared for his life a couple years back for wearing the star of david. Just keep their names out your mouth ma'am... they are hood in real life.

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

It's all shit's and giggles until you get in those Cali streets. I don't know about gang members in NY, and this is in NO WAY a BRAGG...I'm from Cali...these gang members are more than likely generational...IF they one, they daddy was one, and they daddy's daddy was one too.

  • i troll it like i see it

I still say at that at 26 she shouldn't be even be impressed by gang life. Immature and silly woman.

  • the guest

Migos are middle class proper brothers who are rap artists. Sure they probably had suburban run ins with the law. But for the most part are of middle class values and about their money, security, and comfort which I think is their appeal.

Cardi is an affiliated gang member and ex stripper who has mainstream fame and fortune as a rapper but gang ties and gang beef do not go hand in hand with building a new life of normalcy, security, and comfort.

Offset didn't really get into Cardi and propose until she hit mainstream fame and fortune. He is business man and with her because she didn't cost him anything and he gains everything.

But now that she is causing Migos security concerns, messing with their comfort zone, and costing them money, Offset will end their engagement to disassociate. He does not love her like die and go broke for her kind of love.

Offset didn't know that procreating with a gang member means bringing a child into gang life?

  • Renee26

Those fat mf's ain't on the same level as the Secret Service LMAO

    They're just protecting their jewelry

  • jeniefrumdabloc™

  • Renee26

Migos are middle class proper brothers who are rap artists.

    REALLY??? All 3 of them???

  • the guest

They are from suburbs of Atlanta. I'm not calling them soft by any means because they are not. But these are business men and artists who are very clear they are bad and bougee, not thugs. They are about their art, money, and weed, not the streets. I'm telling you, they are not feeling this gang stuff messing with their vibe.

  • PLEASEDontTellMe
  • Ajavee

    Ain't nobody studying these fools.

  • Ajavee

    Real talk lol.

  • the guest

Cardi is in for a reality check. Offset is about to be out of that engagement.

  • You already know ?

  • sunni_daze

Migos is street ni**as just like these gang bangers. Lets not forget they got to banging at some award show.

  • SpillyNillie

Cardi thinks what she says is cool and cute. Well not to errbody. She's really not about that life...I hope she continues to keep a low profile while in L.A. I would hate for anything to happen to her. For fools know not what they do...

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

Despite her clap back at Tami Roman. I heard that it's confirmed Cardi is PREGGERS...does anyone have any TEA,

  • Ni Ni

Ole guhl would be on her own. Yeen finna be messing with my money.

  • NeverSurprised

Thank you. Have never been anywhere NEAR a gun or a gang member, and I've lived a long, happy life.

The so-called "men" in these gangs will drive by and kill their own people over a word or a color(???), yet will allow George Zimmerman to skip through life free as a bird. What kind of "men" are they?

  • SpillyNillie

Supposedly she and the side piece have the same due date...

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

    noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.....is this a joke?

  • Ni Ni

Funny how it came out after her talking noise about the gang.

  • SpillyNillie

That's what I read chile. If it is true, she's a true idiot to get knocked up at the height of her career. #foolish

  • SpillyNillie

You say it's a PR attempt to save her life?

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

now that is some pipping hot tea

  • Simone

    That part! LA don't play...lol

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

lol...it won't stop the firing squad..

  • NeverSurprised

    Lolllllllll!

  • Kim’s Original Face

I dunno TSR just posted a video of her "snatched bawdy" Could be old, maybe she was bloated only time will tell..

  • the guest

    Cardi is gang affiliated.

Usually labels work out deals with gangs their artists are affiliated with. I'm sure her gang gets kickbacks so she can "move on" BUT she's not supposed to be active and not supposed to start beef with rival gangs.

This is a mess. To save her there has to be negotiations and serious financial pay off and still no guarantee because there's so many fringe sets of the gangs.

She should never had said what she said and being that she is a gang member maybe should not have worn that blue fur coat if she felt the need to defend wearing it by insulting the rival gang.

  • NeverSurprised

"... these gang members are more than likely generational."
    -----------------------------
    Interesting.

  • Trey

They actually not street guys...they are just managed by street guys

  • Ms.Vanilla

Girl sang it !!!! They are not men at all. They are boys with no future.

  • NeverSurprised

Usually labels work out deals with gangs their artists are affiliated with. I'm sure her gang gets kickbacks so she can "move on"
    --------------

I never knew this. You are a wealth of information. So a major label like Atlantic would actually pay kickbacks to the bloods after signing her?

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

it's a fact. It sounds crazy to an outsider. I have friends, who had an entire line of brothers/sisters & cousins all gang affiliated..because their fathers/uncles and so forth were. Makes it harder to leave the association behind, if they're your bloodline.

  • Ms.Vanilla

If you ask me, the insult is to her own gang. Blue is not their colors so I would be mad that she wasn't wearing red if I were a blood. That would make more sense. Why be mad at someone that is representing your colors... duh.

  • Ni Ni

    Sounds like it to me.

  • NeverSurprised

Wow. So they actually have "legacies", like a ghetto Harvard or Yale.

What if one of the offspring DOESN'T want to be affiliated? Are they pressured to join?

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

    fair point

  • Waya Hedia

Music and entertainment used to be one peaceful place until..

  • the guest

Yes. They will work it out through the artist. Gangs don't give gang members a free retirement pass because they become famous rappers. They still have to pay. Cardi is on IG bragging about her lifetime oath. So when labels have profitable artists that are gang affiliated they work out kick back. This keeps the artist safe, alive, and free to move on and be famous.

Young MA is not as mainstream famous as Cardi but she's also very forthright and outspoken about her oath to her gang.

  • Waya Hedia

They didn't 'allow' anything. The law and a jury did.

  • Conscience

Gangs were originally formed to protect the community from outsiders. But just like Government they have turned on they're own.

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

it depends. Maybe there's an O.G. that recognizes they not about that life and will protect them from becoming wrapped up in it. Maybe that child will be sent down south...to get him out of the neighborhood.
My son'ts childhood friend, is a legacy blood, ( fathers, uncles brothers) he recently shared with my son he was over it...and just wanted to live a civilian's life...when my son told him to simply leave, he stated, he wished it was that easy

  • the guest

I was thinking that too that it was a diss to her gang. But she used the term "flue" which is historically offensive toward and fighting words to her rival gang. She was being reckless and inconsiderate of her new life and those associated with her. She was feeling herself thinking money and fame protected her from the oath, codes, and life she chose.

  • NeverSurprised

    Fascinating!

So what happens with someone like Snoop, whose success has exploded far beyond anything anyone could have imagined. Does he have to keep paying tribute to the gang for the life of his career, or is there a cut- off point?

And where does the money go? I've never heard of the bloods or crips investing in real estate or other business ventures, but if what you say is correct, then they obviously have a nice income stream. Does it just get divvied up among the members?

  • NeverSurprised

You should write about this. I"m not kidding.

Most people, myself included, have no idea that such an intricate set of circumstances are attendant to gang life. We just assume young men aimlessly gravitate to them. I am an avid reader yet I never knew about gang legacies. I would absolutely read anything that you, or someone else who is as eloquent as you, wrote about this lifestyle.

  • Ms.Vanilla

    Exactly

  • free

damn, that's some training day "pay the russians" type sh!t!

  • jeniefrumdabloc™

    Keyboard thugs chile!

  • the guest

Remember, Snoop Dogg's labels and gang life and were interrelated. He used to always shout out his gang.

We know he doesn't have to worry about Suge Knight anymore. Also he's an OG and never speaks disrespectfully of his gang or rival gangs. He's a very different person than Cardi and commands more respect.

Of course gangs invest in real estate and work for corporations and integrate into mainstream life, especially the military (read articles online about gangs members in the military).

Not all gang members are street and gutter. For some people gangs are like the mafia, they are either born into it or get into it as an alternative way to get money.

Jeremy Meeks is another gang member who I think left his family and got with the billionaire's daughter to pay his obligations.

  • OvertheMississippi

    Which “outsiders”?

  • OvertheMississippi

Play stupid games, and win stupid prizes!! Play ball!!

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

Wat side piece? I thought his 3rd baby mama gave birth in November?

  • sunni_daze

Same difference then. Eventually it rubs off

  • Dowoop

She's only impressed by it because she knows nothing about it. If she knew what real gang life was like she wouldnt want a damn thing to do with it.

  • Yoni7

I was gonna say mall cops.

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

Those "diamonds" are made from cheap S1 diamond chips that cost $2 a chip. The gold chain costs more than the diamonds. That's why you see rappers wearing so many pieces. You don't see real ballers wearing that junk. ??

  • i troll it like i see it

I see how seriously people took her insult, I wouldn't want anything to do with it at all...people have gotten killed for a hell of a lot less. You never know how far people are willing to go these days to prove themselves.

  • Look@m3

This is why I cant get on the bandwagon...I don't understand grown women that follow this lil girl.

  • Look@m3

Right...people get killed for jewlrey, shoes, talking behind each other backs, jealousy why would you even come close to wanting to have issues with a gang. Like come on bruh now a days you don't even have to get killed by a gang member..you can get killed by a random 16 year old that want to be hard so what makes you think this generation of human species going to look pass you. They looking for a opportunity to do so heinous crime and brag about it behind bars. What a dummy.

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

lol you're too too kind. I am no expert...i just happen to be another girl from Inglewood California.....my aunts who were young enough, that they were like my sisters, didn't play that. When i thought i wanted to be about that life...one of aunts punched the shit out of me. There are books already written about gang life..there are also a few documentaries about it on YouTube. A few books i have in my library " Monster" & "Jumped in"

  • Mia Said so

    word.. please see it again..

  • Mia Said so

please don't tell me.. of topic...(I LOVE YOUR PIC) and you and Hot Atlanta i live for your response.

  • PLEASEDontTellMe

Thank you...that's really sweet. Honestly thank you!!!!

  • BOY BYE!

Offset trying to stay relevant off of Cardi B and anything he can!

  • deanya

??? Sandra just be making up anything . So now celebrity can't use security guards?

  • NeverSurprised

They present themselves as the toughest of the tough, so big and bad that they will pull out a gun on a crowded street, endangering the lives of innocent black women and children to gun down any black man who "disrespects" them by wearing the wrong color, or staring at them too long.

So why don't these "tough" guys exhibit the same machismo when a clearly GUILTY white animal guns down an innocent black teen? They have no problem taking the law into their own hands when it comes to killing BLACK people, but they don't have the balls to stand up to a pudgy WHITE murderer. I'm just asking what kind of "men" these tough guys are? It seems their "courage" ends as soon as they leave a black neighborhood.

  • Waya Hedia

So, lemme get this straight .. you're saying that some black men "so big and bad that they will pull out a gun on a crowded street,"

But Trayvon was above all that! Got it.

"clearly GUILTY white animal guns down an innocent black teen"

    You have your story wrong.

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

The Migos don't have bodyguards in Atlanta. Even on the road, they only 1 or 2 bodyguards, not a team of bodyguards.

  • ZRoJoTheLezBeyond

Reminds me of Officer Ricky! lol

  • ZRoJoTheLezBeyond
  • NeverSurprised

I am saying that GANG BANGERS shoot into crowds of blacks on a consistent basis. Just check the body count in urban areas across the country on any 4th of July or other warm weather holiday. How many black kids have been shot when caught in the crossfire?. Surely this is not news to you.

So gang members who have no problem killing BLACKS for no worthwhile reason, should be similarly "courageous" enough to put a cap in anyone else. I am using Zimmerman as an example because of the heinous nature of his crime AGAINST a black boy, PLUS his recent threats against other blacks. But these so-called "street warriors" who shoot their OWN people (and threaten a young woman because she wore a damn BLUE COAT and uttered a word they didn't like), don't have the courage to go outside of their own race and confront anyone else.

  • Waya Hedia

SO when Trayvon posed for the gangbanger photos we've all seen, and then was shot trying to beat someone to death.. you can't equate the two. I see. I'll go with he judge and jury on that one.

  • Brianna

If thats true then it just goes to show the importance of having the right people around you. Ya bitch went on Instagram flexing like a nigga and now niggas looking to pull yall card. A lot of men have died behind a womans foolishness.

  • INDUSTRY GURU

BINGO....Whats more alot of these asian "celebrity" jewelers are making hundreds of thousands off gullible rappers.

  • INDUSTRY GURU

    NO

  • i troll it like i see it

About five years ago I read a story that stuck with me about a teen doing laundry with his mother in Chicago, that was killed by a gang member just for looking at him. It was heart breaking.

  • INDUSTRY GURU

Artist who affilliate with gangs get extorted. Some are afraid to death so they pay. Others hire police as security an Notify the FBI of the extortion attempt. Like Rick Ross did see below

    http://m.tmz.com/#2016/05/06/rick-ross-gangster-disciples-indicted-threat/

http://hiphopdx.com ..."According to Atlanta’s 11 Alive News, rapper Rick Ross was named in a federal indictment they recently obtained detailing the arrested of nearly 50 Gangster Disciples."

  • Patricia

the ones on the other side of the corner store. cant tresspass on another n!@@$ drug dealing ground. gangs have never been nothing but thug mess. stop lying, conscience.

  • Patricia

big, tall men block and stop more bullets and eager fans. id choose me some wide load, broad back security, too.

  • Anji

I'm an elder who witnessed a white/black Compton demographic shift as Kkk-influenced wht teens necessitated a response from black youth tired of being jumped and robbed. Piru teens from solidly middle-class, 2 parent homes addressed problems from inner city Crips
(Compton was a suburb) by creating Bloods. Just 2 examples.

  • Anji

Snoop was renounced by Long Beach City Crops for not continuing to tithe. Not like he's facing serious repercussion. We're not talking massive amounts of money worthy of investment.

  • Anji

Snoop is a disrespected OG currently. So glad he now distances.himself.

  • Anji

This is past history in LA now, although the generational thing applies, demographics, the ravages of the crack plague, return of heroin, long prison bids etc. have lessened tragedies of black gang life in LA proper. The migration of this now historical culture rages on in California's outlying communities, other states and sadly other nations. Can't believe I survived to work in the trenches.

  • Anji

But better than 30 to 40 years ago. These members are w weakened.

  • the guest

    Actually, yes.

  • Jussjess25

Sandra just making stuff up at this point ????

  • the guest

Still he commands more respect than Cardi and he would never have said flagrant fighting words on social media like she did.

  • the guest

MOE is MOE to gangs. They renounced him but I don't think gangs look down on any money. Tithe is a very nice way of putting kick back, lifetime oath, and obligated. Lol

  • the guest

Exactly as I said, artists don't get a free retirement pass from gang affiliation because they get signed and become famous rappers.

  • Maxima

THIS!! She will either get them killed, injured or outta pocket for a lot of money due to increased security. She is definitely a liability.

  • Maxima

    OUCH, LOL

  • Maxima

Ignore Waya Hedia (Behindus). It is trying to be deliberately contrarian. Trayvon was standing his ground and was probably using the gentlemen's defense.

  • Maxima

Return of Heroin??? Please don't tell me our black people are picking up that shit again? No one survived the 1960s and 1970s to tell the young in our community differently?

  • TeeTee

    that part
