Cardi B is feeling the pressures of controlling her ratchet behavior online. I told you last week that Cardi was reigned in by her bosses at the record label.

The 26-year-old Bronx rapper sparked a furious backlash on social media in March when an old video surfaced in which she admitted drugging and robbing Black men to make ends meet in her stripper days.

After the backlash on social media, Cardi half-apologized and explained that she did what she had to do to survive back then – even though most strippers don’t steal from their customers.

Cardi has struggled to repair her public image over the past few weeks. She told Nightline’s Ashan that she’s holding her tongue and watching what she says in public.

But the pressure to put limits on her own behavior is beginning to wear on her.

“Like, I feel like I’m trapped. I feel like I’m not being myself,” she said. “And it’s like people be saying like this, like, ‘Oh but you don’t held your tongue.’ Yes I have! This ain’t the Cardi that – this ain’t 2016, 2015 Cardi. Like, I changed a lot for you muthaf—–s. So I could be a damn role model for your kids. Even though, YOU need to be the role model for your kids. You gotta be your own kids’ role model, bro, your own kids.”

She continued: “I love children and everything, but its like, don’t put that responsibility on me.”

Cardi stopped short of advising parents to control the content their children view on social media.
