Nipsey Hussle’s grieving bodyguard J Roc announced his retirement on Tuesday. Nipsey, 33, was gunned down outside his clothing store in Los Angeles on Sunday.

J Roc was more than a bodyguard to the West Coast rapper. He was also Nipsey’s friend and brother. The two men were nearly inseparable, and J Roc has said he would’ve given his life for Nipsey.

J-Roc had no idea Nipsey had even left his home to meet with a friend at his Marathon Clothing store on Sunday. The friend just got out of prison after serving 20 years, and Nipsey wanted to give him new clothes before the man met his family.

Roc announced his retirement in a social media post.

“Never in a million years I thought I would be writing some shit like this … we haven’t made a 100 Million yet … we was suppose to grow old and I call u big nose shoot jokes on you all day… but instead I’m here in tears writing this I wish I was there I would switch places with you any day the world…”
