Solange Knowles has confirmed reports that she split from her husband after five years of marriage.
The Cranes in the Sky hitmaker confirmed in an Instagram post on Friday, Nov. 1, that she and filmmaker Alan Ferguson decided to separate earlier this year.
“11 years ago i met a phenomenal man who changed every existence of my life. early this year we separated and parted ways,” Solange, 33, wrote alongside a series of photos of herself.
Solange likely confirmed the split because rumors were running rampant that she and Ferguson no longer lived together.
It was the second marriage for Beyonce’s younger sister, who has a history of mental illness and public emotional outbursts.
Solange was also previously married to her high school sweetheart Daniel Smith, the father of her 15-year-old son, Daniel Julez J. Smith Jr. She was just 17 when they wed, and they divorced in 2007.
