B. Smyth is a hot new artist whose infectious dance track "Twerkoholic" is heating up dancefloors on both sides of the Atlantic!
I was sent this video to post and at first I thought, "Oh, just another Twerk Song." But this kid can really sing! As adults, we might not understand the whole "twerking" fad, but twerking has been around forever. This is nothing new.
Check out the official lyric video below. And if you're into the twerking thing, B. Smyth aka @Therealbsmyth on Twitter is holding a Twerk Contest on his Twitter Page.
Tameka "Tiny" Harris and Pretty Hustle Management introduced new girl group French Kiss to Atlanta movers and shakers at an Atlanta nightclub over the weekend. French Kiss consists of four females who are targeted at a slightly older demographic than Tameka's girl group the OMG Girlz. Singer Tiara Thomas, best known for her duet with Wale on his single "Bad", explained how the groupie anthem came about.
“I was in Atlanta with one of my friends I went to school with; she was my manager at the time. She’s like,’Hey, let’s go to Atlanta for spring break, just to go somewhere,’ Thomas recalls. We went and I had a fake ID. I was under 21 at the time and we just wanted to go to the club. So we went to the club and Wale was there. It was like, ‘Hey, there’s Wale, let’s take a picture with him.’ Wale listened to it, and he really liked it,”

You may not know who The Lylas are, but you will. Short for Love You Like A Sister, The Lylas have the sound, and more importantly, the look that the record labels are searching for. In addition to signing a recording contract, the Filipina and Puerto Rican-American singing quartet also signed a modeling contract with Robinsons Department Stores.

Rap newcomer Iggy Azalea is featured in a Complex magazine interview and photo layout. The XXL Freshman class standout was signed by Interscope Records after she caught the eye (and ear) of Grand Hustle founder T.I.
Yesterday, Grand Hustle released the first single off Iggy's debut album, The New Classic, due out this Summer. The single is titled "Murda Bizness". T.I. hopes you will embrace his artist as a white female rapper with faux urban roots. The single features Iggy's mentor and is produced by Bei Maejor. Listen to "Murda Bizness" after the break.
The 21-year-old Australian rapper's first track "PU$$Y" went viral on YouTube last year. But even though she's being promoted as an over-sexualized rapper, she says that's not really her.
COMPLEX: You’ve been criticized for being overly sexual IGGY AZALEA: "To a lot of people, a powerful, sexy woman is vulgar. When I first came out people said, she only raps about her vagina. I’m not a vagina rapper! [Laughs.] I talk about many other things."
WEtv premiered Trina Braxton’s hot new debut single “Party Or Go Home” today. As you know, Trina is an aspiring singer who once sang background for her superstar sister, Toni Braxton. The single's syrupy, uptempo production isn't layered on thick enough to drown out Trina's newly acquired Canadian accent. It's a decent debut single for Trina.
Stars Mary J Blige, Queen Latifah, Wale, French Montana, Meek Mill and more turned out to attend a party for Interscope recording artist Starshell at Headliner Market Group's infamous LIV On Sunday party!
British songstress Rita Ora is on fiyah right now! Since being introduced to the U.S. market by her mentor Jay Z, people can't stop talking about how she is set to replace Rihanna as Urban/Pop music's "IT" girl. Rita hopped on British rapper Tinie Tempah's new single "R.I.P." Fittingly, Rita sings R.I.P. to another girl's career. "Her days are OVER!," Rita sings.
"R.I.P." was written by Young Money rapper Drake and produced by dubstep kings Chase and Status. The tracks follows the release of Rita's debut single, "Party And Bullsh*t," off her upcoming album. Rita's new album is shaping up to be a classic, with contributions from Drake and big time producers, The Dream, Tricky Stewart, Polow Da Don, Ne-Yo, Rico Love and Stargate!
Rappers Common and Drake were feuding just a minute ago, but now it seems it's all love as the two shared jokes and giggles courtside at the 2012 NBA All Star game.
This Twitpic of rappers T.I., Drake, and singer B.oB. posing with a leggy blond left many of us wondering who she was. According to Punch Bowl blog, her name is Iggy Azalea and she's working closely with T.I. at Atlanta's famed Tree Sound studios this week.
Watch video of T.I. and Iggy vibing in the studio after the break!
According to my very credible west coast source, rap mogul Jay Z is positioning his hawt new artist, Rita Ora, to not only replace former Pop Princess, Rihanna, but also to take on Katy Perry for the Pop/crossover market. That's the same thing he did with Rihanna in 2008 with her hit record "Umbrella".
But now Jay Z has had enough of Rihanna's bizarre online and offline antics. Her reunion with her abusive ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, was the last straw for Jigga. He has reportedly cut all ties with the troubled singer, except professionally (he still manages her). Poor Rihanna can see the writing on the wall. And that's why she is unraveling faster than a cheap sweater.
According to a loyal insider who begged for anonymity, up-and-coming singer Rita Ora is being positioned to steal Rihanna's spotlight. According to my source, who is well-connected on the west coast, Rihanna begged her former abusive boyfriend Chris Brown to jump on her "Birthday Cake" remix to divert attention away from Rita, who has also been in the studio with Brown.
They say Rihanna is very nervous and constantly looking over her shoulder to see how far Rita Ora is behind her.
Sunday night's season 2 premiere of NBC's music reality show 'The Voice' shattered TV ratings records. The singing competition earned the highest non-sports related network TV ratings in 6 years. All similarities to other music competition shows ends after the opening credits roll.
Instead of a panel of judges, 'The Voice' features four celebrity "coaches" who choose teams of artists to mentor. This season's coaches are Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, and country music star Blake Shelton.
Season 2's contestants included Alicia Keys' background singer, Jermaine Paul, who decided to go solo after backing up Keys for years. Keys sent a congratulatory recorded message that was played on 'The Voice'. Green and Shelton were impressed by his vocals, but Paul chose Shelton as his mentor.
