Pop singer Beyonce reportedly turned down the role as The Wiz in NBC's The Wiz Live! Queen Latifah was offered the role as The Wiz -- but only after Beyonce turned it down.
Apparently Beyonce was only interested in the role as 17-year-old Dorothy, but that role went to Shanice Williams, who not lonely looks 17 but she can sing, too.

Directed by Kenny Leon, The Wiz LIVE! revives the 1975 Broadway musical "The Wiz", starring Stephanie Mills as Dorothy in an all black cast. "The Wiz LIVE!" TV special also stars Mills (as Auntie Em), Queen Latifah (as The Wiz), Mary J. Blige, rapper Common, and Orange is the New Black star Uzo Aduba (as Glenda the good witch).
"The Wiz LIVE!" airs on NBC TV on Dec. 3.

Just when you thought it was safe to turn on your TV. Now comes word that laundromat singer Beyonce, who can't act her way out of a paper bag, has been offered the role of Glinda the Good Witch in NBC's live musical 'The Wiz'.
