HOT 107.9 will broadcast live today from 12-6 PM from the site of 2 fires in Decatur that left over 40 families displaced. The families lost everything they own, including clothes, personal items, family photos and toys.
Young Jeezy, part owner of Eight732 Clothing line, heard Hot’s call for help and plan to go to the site of the fires today to distribute new jeans, t-shirts and outerwear from the clothing line to young men who have been displaced by the fires.
If you can help with donations of food, clothes, shoes or money, please stop by the Park apartments at 2751 Candler Rd today between 12-6 PM.
I received the following email from Tracey Bryant of Groundrush via Tonya Clackum of Hot 107.9.

Subject: FireHey I hope all is well with you today. There were 2 separate fires at The Park apartment complex in Decatur these past 2 days that have displaced over 40 families that now have absolutely NOTHING. Today from 12-6pm the A-Team Morning Show will be broadcasting from the apartment complex at 2751 Candler Rd. If you are in town and you have anything extra around the house (clothes, toys, school supplies, toiletries etc.) bring them by today. These people literally have nothing at all and no one had insurance. So again if you have a chance today please stop thru. Thanks again just wanted to let everyone know so that hopefully we can help out a little today! Thanks.

I think that is very decent of him, It is alot of rappers that will quickly help out in a time of need!! I think some of them deserve more credit(some) They use there money for good instead of competing for having the biggest chain on the block(lol) Thats how you get your blessings by helping others in there time of need, although you do have most rappers out here thats qick to rundown all the money they have donated just for the recognition!!!
That’s really cool of him. I hope the fire victims are able to pull everything back together. Fire is so destructive.
As much as I dislike Hip-Hop right now, I love how giving a lot of rappers can be. If this side of them were showcased more often, they’d get a better “rap”. Yay, I made a funny.
OK, I’m going now.
Congrats on being nice, Jeeeeeeeeeeeezy.
I am so happy that he is helping the less fortunate. I pray that everyone is ok and will be able to get back on their feet…..
I love to see people giving from the heart and not for noteriety *cough* oprah*cough*. I don’t think it needs to be put out there who is doing what for their communities because then the work is devalued.
That’s sweet of him!!!
I hope more artists came out and helped the needy.
don’t play on peoples emotions for ratings and album sales.
Good job Jeezy! Regardless of the album ratings and promotions you get, someone will be helped because of it today. Its funny how you get so much credit for being negative but none for doing something positive in the HIP HOP game….be it underhanded or not if the act benefits those in need as it should, whats the big deal. No one complains about Oprah buying all that shyt up for people who don’t need it and writing if off her taxes?

You better tell it!!! But, fair warning Oprah is like the patrone saint around here. They Opraj stans will attack!! LOL!! ;O)
Thats nice of him.
Wait a minute, two separate fires within days of the other. Does anyone suspect arson?
I love stories like this. I think Sandra posted something about Jeezy reaching out to the needy during Thanksgiving or Xmas. Very nice indeed.

I remember that and respect you for taking a stand
I agree. Most rappers help out more than people who criticizing them all the time.Jeezy and the rest of the rappers who helped out their community will continued to be blessed. And I know they won’t do it for ratings because most of them were not that fortunate while growing up.
This is very good to hear. Like a breath of fresh air that someone is helping others!

Exactly! Thank you for pointing that out, it makes a lot of sense.
I am happy that he is helping people in need but why does every entertainer feel the need to come out with a clothing line???? Most of the stuff is ugly and VERY overpriced and never lasts long (Fetish,G-unit,etc).

‘preciate it!! And thanks for catching my typo too!! LOL ;O)
Uhmmm. I’m starting to think my original post went over a few heads. I was not saying rappers do what they do for props and ratings. I was talking about Oprah people!! Get it? No. Oh well……..
This is how we as a people should be. Those that are more fortunate do what they can to help out the less fortunate. That’s a fundamental in being a decent human being.
