The good folks at The Gay + Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) are offended by a scene in the new film Hancock. In the scene, Hancock, played by Will Smith, dismisses comic book superheroes as, “Homo. Homo in red. Norwegian Homo.” GLAAD makes the ridiculous claim that the movie as a whole is homophobic, saying the movie takes a “cheap, unfunny shot at gay people”.
What’s amusing to me is that once again GLAAD has managed to embarrass gay people everywhere.
I wasn’t offended when I read a review for the movie on Roger Friedman’s FOX 411 gossip column. Friedman called the scene “charming” (albeit in a sarcastic tone).
What I find offensive is the “Reverend” Jesse Jackson inciting a feeding frenzy among the national media’s trained seals by threatening to cut Barack Obama’s nuts off. I think GLAAD should get on top of that right away!

am i the only one who actually liked the movie? lol it was funny . not the best will smith movie , but i have seen much worst . this movie in no way was homophobic .
I didnt find it offensive…but overall the movie just plain ol sucked, the script was bullshit, at least Will is still a great actor.

animals,
etc.
many movies make fun of or say something slightly negative about some other group of people. UNLESS it is a DIRECT and derogitory (negitive like: blacks are stupid, all white people smell, women are not people, cripples take up space, animals so no purpose, etc.) remark then let it go. and the movie does not have to be watched by you if you are offended. a movie is not law.
they must be bored and need something to moan about. sensitiiiiiiiiiive. i won’t say what i really want to say tho as not to TRULY offend others.

I thought the movie was okay.. The plot sucked and it was not the best movie that Will has ever played in…It was in no shape form or fashion attacking or making fun of gays..
Well they must not watch “Family Guy”. I watched that and within the first 2 mins. They attacked gays, SLAVES aka blk ppl, used drug content and gays again….all of this within the first 2 mins. If they are going to protest something, start with that. Clearly that cartoon is very, very, very degrading. I’m not that sensitive, I just thought I’d point them in the right direction. LOL
HEY HEY HEY – now stop THAT. lay off of family guy – it has fueled many honest dialogues in the work place.
I didn’t think the movie was that bad, I actually kind of liked it. Definitely not degrading to gay people in my opinion.
I haven’t seen the movie but from what I’ve heard it’s a love hate. People that love it Love it and people that hate it Hate it. No one says it’s just okay.
If GLAAD wants to be mad they need to go watch a few episodes of All in the Family.

The scene they are referring to is when Hancock and his friend was picking out a new uniform for him…the comic book characters did look stank a dank LOL LOL…
