Solange performed a lively session at the J&R MusicFest at City Hall Park in NY yesterday. Her sister Beyonce attended the concert along with mama Tina Knowles who beamed proudly from the audience.
Solange’s first musical effort fell flat. But that’s only because she was following in the footsteps of her sister which was the wrong move career-wise. But it’s all good now! Solange has come into her own and she isn’t looking back!
I was just discussing Solange with an industry professional who took great pleasure in informing me that according to some industry scan service, Solange’s hit single “I Decided” has only received 9 spins around the world today. Now I can hardly believe that only 9 radio stations in the entire world has played that song today. Compare that to 270 spins by Jazmine Sullivan who has the #1 single in the world.
By the way, I think it can be said that Beyonce’s career is officially over now that real musicians have suddenly become popular again. Don’t you agree?

Solange is just following what everybody else been doing from the past year or two and it works because everybody is on that bandwagon.I rather prefer listening to my real underground artist who been on this before.Solange is just lucky because she has the perks of being Beyonce’ sister.If she was to do it on her own we wouldn’t even care.

& I love how Beyonce is blamed for everybody around her not being able to have sucessful careers. How is it her fault that Solo first attempt was lackluster?

Sandra the comment you made about how Bey carries her bag makes me think girlfriend is trying to hide something. I know rumors about her being preggers have been going around but that is an odd way to carry a bag and if you look at most of the photos its always covering her mid section.

Can someone please explain to me why it’s a crime for Beyonce to carry the same bag more than once?? Hell, most of us carry the same bag EVERYDAY unless we’re going out. I mean is it just me or are we trying a little too hard to hate here? Just becuase you have it, doesn’t mean you have to spend it.

Sorry Sandra, but i can believe Solange isn’t getting alot of play…i asked this question before, WHERE IS HER MARKET? Who is her target audience, cause i just can’t see a bunch of teenagers running to the video store to buy this music from her, and i myself isn’t feeling this 60’s stuff…sorry, but she may be able to hold a tune, but i think her quest to be different, she OUT-MARKETED herself, trying to be so different…can you say backfired…
Now Jasmine Sullivan is the real deal singing music we can all relate to…and oh goodness, don’t get me started on her voice, it’s so melodic and soulful…i can’t wait for her cd…her cd is relateable to our time and era unlike solange…wtf for real with her?
And Beyonce’s career is not over, as much as i can careless about her dumbed-down music…it’s for teenagers, and there’s plenty of teens out there to buy that lollipop none sense, complete with all the loud whistles, hornes, etc…her music is just a bunch of loud noise with a woman in the background yelling….i must admit i liked a few singles on her first solo project, but this last one, it can go straight to the garbage.

I purchase Solange first CD and please forgive me but there was only one song on that CD that I liked and I tried to listen the the CD over and over but I just couldnt get into it. I love her style and her and Beyonce is totally different but I just wish her new CD is better then the first one. Her first CD she have a song with her and Bow Wow and I just wasnt feeling it. Best wishes for her second CD and I may just go buy her 2nd CD just to support her she seems like she is Hella cool as a person Beyonce seems to be a little stuck up but maybe Jay Z made her start acting like that.
