So I was over on the right wing blog Huffington Post, when I spotted this headline, “Obama Camp Turns to Clinton to Counter Palin.” I laughed out loud before I even read the accompanying article.
Since Republican presumptive VP Sarah Palin hit one out of the park at the Republican convention last week, the timing of this “rescue mission” could not be more perfect. Suddenly, Palin is a media superstar overnight and Obama is forced to recognize! And now John McCain isn’t looking so dumb after all.
But is the Obama camp really that clueless to believe they can count on Hillary Clinton during their desperate time of need? Or did Obama overestimate Palin the same way he has overestimated the black community so far?
Didn’t I say Hills would do a disappearing act once it became clear she was not Barack Obama’s choice for VP? I’m sure she’s somewhere laughing her ass off right now.
Peep this excerpt from the Huffington Post article:
Advisers to Mrs. Clinton said that she stood ready to help the Obama-Biden ticket, but they urged the campaign not to overestimate the impact Mrs. Clinton could have, noting that she had other commitments this fall, like campaigning and raising money for Senate candidates.
LOL! I guess Senate candidates are more important than helping Obama secure the presidency.
I think too many ppl are giving McCain too much predict for that pic. From what i’ve been reading…not many ppl are sold on here. So i can’t say, it was out the ball park. She did nothing at the convention. As if i’m suppose to be impressed that she sold somethign on ebay….i sell things all the time….lol
w/ if ppl are gonna elect McCain for this….then u know what, we’re gonna deserve everything that might come. he voted with bush 90% percent of the time. Not half, not even 3/4, but 90. He’s McSame.
And i think its a damn shame ppl are waiting on Obama to just lose, and even find it funny and entertaining…..
Actually, Sandra….Hillary Clinton will be in Tampa, Fl. campaigning FOR Barack Obama this monday…I really wish you’d fact check every once in a while…She and other female members of congress, governors, mayors, etc. are going to hit the trail to counter the “Palin is a woman, so we must vote for her” argument of the repub. party…
just because the MEDIA has an obession of the moment with Palin doesnt make mcsame smart. they ONLY REASON the media is on palin like this is because her daughter is pregnant at 17 when this chick preaches EVERYONE should be abstinent before marriage. especially when Palin wasnt when she got married her son was born 7 or 8 months later. but thats what hypocrites do.
Everyone is about to hit the road for Barak so dont get it twisted up. so many republicans have viewed mcSame’s choice as completely political and not thought out properly. they can sit her and take stabs all they want to but they know Barak has it in the bag.
i dont know whats up with all this slick mcSame talk on this site i am starting to wonder just a little bit…..
SANDRA, YOU’VE GOT TO BE JOKING!!!
Palin is so super overrated just like her speech was on Wed. night..I honestly didn’t see where she hit shyt out of the park besides the stupid ass media making a big deal over her..And I truly hope voters aren’t that stupid to vote for this clueless chick just because she’s a white woman/soccer mom.
@ starr
good points. one point of clarification: contrary to what palin implied and mccain falsely stated, palin did not sale the plane on ebay. the plane sold several months later via a private sale (for a loss) after noone purchased it on ebay.

Damn..for a second there I thought I was on another site!!!
This is very new to me. Hell I then seen Hilary all over the place campaigning for Obama.
I doubt she will allow old ass McCain and ding-dong the Witch is Death Palin to think they are just walking in the White House without a fight.
Oh and I have I missed something…how did Obama overestimate black people?!!!!
>>Oh and I have I missed something…how did Obama overestimate black people?!!!!<<
2thick, he didn’t overestimate, black people overestimated, they thought…”oh we got one of us in the WH and thought business as usual”…..uhhhhh, no! When he showed us it’s gonna be a new day, calling out young bloods to step up to the plate and be responsible young men is when you saw droves of bandwagoneers falling off by the wayside.
Yeah, it’s gonna be real funny when everyone that thinks McCaint made such a brilliant move in picking that flake finds out McCaint f***ed up, just give it a moment, they all pumped up now, just got out the RNC pep rally, there is more game to play, they touted her horn too much about her being a “maverick”, which tells me, methinks thou protest too much. I’m into walkers not talkers.
I predict Palin won’t last the rest of the campaign trail, she’ll buckle under pressure, it’s one thing running an isolated state from the union and another running an entire nation and having to represent a nation globally. Look how she supposedly hid out for 2 days of the RNC, she was probably having second thoughts and she was urged (strongly) to continue on the ticket. She’s all talk.
My advice to Palin
Take care of home.I feel like she isn’t mentally ready because her household drama.
Technically senate candidates are just as important as presidential ones, because the the end of the day we’re supposed to have a balanced government, and it’s achieved through the Senate, Congress and Presidential office.
Palin is plenty of yapping with no actual substance. She was Mayor of Wasila and that’s what she’s touting as executive experience? Is Wasilla even the size of Decatur, GA? She’s just an instrument and we all should be able to see the way the republicans are trying to play (unfortunately dumb) Americans.
She was picked because McCain (and his 7 homes and $300K outfit wearing wife) wants to make his campaign relevant to the people, so he picks someone with issues that is supposed to make her relevant to many people. She has a son serving in Iraq. A hot in the pants daughter who went and got knocked up, coincidentally just like her mama she’s going to be forced to have a shotgun wedding too. She has a child with a genetic abnormalities. She names her children all sorts of unconventional names (Track? wtf, was he conceived at the Track?) She’s “relatable” to many Americans and that’s why she’s going to be pimped by this campaign.
Clinton spoke at the Democratic Convention last week so I’m not sure what else you are expecting her to do. The RNC just finished on Thurs. and the Dems haven’t done too much media getting campaigning anyway, as this week was about the RNC, as last week was all about the DNC!!
Don’t get it twisted!! The debates are in 2 weeks and thats when the real Presidential elect will be determined! We will then see head to head, toe to toe, who is really ready to take it all the way.
Not sure, but Palin-McCain seem really weak and vulnerable. He’s really hold and sems a bit senile…and she is a woman with 5 kids, and new born with Downs Syndrome. Just doesn’t seem like people that are in a position to disassociate themselves with their personal affairs. She’s just not the strongest female candidate to have in office! She has so many ways that she can be attacked personally…I don’t see a “soccer mom” from a small town in Alaska being able to deal with the pressures, and threats that I’m sure that she will face if they are elected.
This Palin thing is a gimmick. I highly doubt she would’ve been McCain’s choice if Hillary had been chosen over Obama. Some of this women out here are so weak minded and stupid. Why would anybody in their right mind believe this woman would be a good president? McCain is old, would you really want this woman running the nation? I’m a single mother (I wouldn’t consider myself a soccer mom), but my son takes karate, football, dance and basketball its all the same. Still in yet nothing about this woman appeals to me.
I can’t wait until she has to debate with Biden. I have a 99% hunch her speech was written for her. Lets see how she holds up in front of the big dogs. Then if some idiots on a mission to avenge Hillary not getting into presidency still chose to vote these people in, like Starr said we deserve what we get.
i, for one am starting to be scared as hell.
that mccain gets voted in and croaks (with HIS old pre-alzheimer’s having self)and THEN we are stuck with this heffa pailin as our president until the next election rolls around. and there will not be not one thing anybody can do to change it.
it could happen.
please yall, for the love of all things good vote for obama. and encourage as many people as you can to do the same!@
can’t wait for biden/pailin either to debate and he will get….up…in…dat azz! you know you are right #12 somebody wrote that speech for her. the debate is when the gloves come off and we REALLY find out what is going thru her mind. i have my own hunch that it ain’t much.
ur crazy if u think hilary has disappeared. she is a true democrat n will continue 2 support everything related 2 the party. not winning the nomination or being selected as the vp is irrelevant at this point. she is seasoned n smart n will continue 2 look at the bigger picture. the bottom line is, no democrat wants a damn republican in office!
not only was the speech written by someone else, it had 2 b tweaked because it was written for a man! although her selection was calculated, it wasn’t well thought out or thoroughly researched. picking her was a hasty decision.
the republicans losing will go down as the biggest flop in history!
Thats why Obama should have picked Clinton for VP. We are going to be in another 4 years stretch of the same kind of government, if Repubs win this election. I say Biden needs to withdraw.YT women are upset about Clinton not getting VP, rednecks are rejoicing, and If McCain croaks in office that crazy Palin will run this country. Do yall know what that means for blacks, gays, any minorities, women rights, civil rights ect ,, I could go on !!!!

Are you forgetting what happened in 2000? Blacks got out and voted for Al Gore but did it make a difference? No it did not – and Obama knows this. Even if Obama gets the black vote, what good is it if he loses the state? He needs to win the state to get the electoral votes. He doesn’t need blacks to get out and vote, he needs Democrats to get out and vote! And after what happened in 2000, there are many Democrats who aren’t feeling the system anymore.
Right now Obama and McCain are neck and neck in the polls. If they go into the elections neck and neck Obama will lose. This is what happened to Al Gore in 2000. Gore won the popular vote which means he should have been president. But he and Bush were tied in electoral votes. That’s how elections are stolen because the Republican House controls the electoral votes (hush, Coop). So even if a candidate gets the most votes, he still loses.

What pressures? Have you seen vice president Cheney lately? Can you remember when you last saw or heard him? A VP has no power and they don’t even have to be included in any serious meetings between world powers. All a VP means is if the president croaks in office, the VP steps in as interim president until the next elections.
So I don’t see how that job takes away from her duties as a mom. some of the top female executives in the country with a lot more on their plate than Palin, still manage to raise their children.

Maybe you missed the part of my post where it stated Hillary’s own camp told Obama not to count on her in the Fall because she has other commitments? Or maybe you didn’t click the link to the article where it is clearly stated that Hillary’s attendance at tomorrow’s rally was scheduled before Obama made his vp announcement?
^^^I dont understand how people dont understand whats going on Sandra. Its like they live in another country or something.
@auntie…. you said “He doesn’t need blacks to get out and vote, he needs Democrats to get out and vote!”
in my defense i said encourage PEOPLE to vote for obama. i DID NOT say encourage black people. or purple people. or green folks. AND you said “he needs Democrats to get out and vote.” i also know alot of folks who do not identify with any party therfore they could easily vote democratic. still in my defense i know alot of republican people who are thinking about voting democratic this election.
you make it sounds as if we on your board ONLY know black people…..which is not real fair. yeah i know about electoral votes, the need for turning a red state blue (and vice versa), the whole shabang.
but we gotta keep the faith! all things are possible. which is what makes obama the fairytale story he is. whodathunk it was possible for a child of a single white mother and kenyan father to be where he is now and to accomplish all he has?
we gotta keep the faith auntie. got to that a change is going to come for not just black america, but for america period.
PEOPLE ARE GIVING PALIN TO MUCH POWER.
THE ONLY PEOPLE SHE REPRESENTS OF FAR RIGHT WINGERS. SO SHE ENERGIZED HER OWN BASE. SO……
WOMEN ARENT STUPID OR DUMB, THEY ARENT JUMPING UP AND DOWN FOR HER JUST BECAUSE SHE MENSES…. IF THEY GOING TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN BECAUSE OF THE VP CHOICE THEY WERE GOING TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN ANYWAYS. THEY UNDER STAND SHE HAS NONE OF THE VIEWS MOST WOMEN SHARE. HILLARY IS VERY POPULAR RIGHT NOW AND WILL CAMPAIGN FOR A LOT OF DEMOCRAT AS WELL AS OBAMA, BECAUSE IF HE WINS, HE CAN GREATLY INCREASE HER POWER IN THE SENATE.
I am very disappointed with the Obama campaign. I really think that he should have picked Hillary Clinton as his runnimg mate. A lot of her supporters are very angry that he chose someone else to be on the ticket with him. He has scorned the women voters and McCain was very smary to pick Palin because he will get their vote over Obama. I think that Obama really did not even consider Hillary Clinton as his running mate and that mistake will cost him greatly. He should have put his negative feelings toward her and her husband aside and did what he had to do to win the election. If he is about change as much as he says then he should put his ego aside and win this election because this country cannot tolerate 4 more years of Bush policies. And another thing how can Obama be mad at Hillary Clinton when she made a comment on his inexperience when his running mate Biden said the same thing. I guess saome comments depending on who it is from can be forgotten. I will vote for Obama in Novemeber but with a sour taste in my mouth all the way to the polls.
Oh by the way MSN is reporting on their site that McCain is ahead of Obama in the polls. I wonder why!!!!!!
I agree with you Sandra,
If McCain wins, we ain’t gonna see her…..hell, we ain’t heard from Cheney since he shot his homie….LMAO
But, this chick he got running with him is not qualified for such a seat like VP…..If I was a Republican, he would have lost my vote with picking her……
He could have got Condelezza…..but I forgot she’s the wrong ____ (fill in the blank)
@SAndra
Huffington Post right wing?????????? She’s out campaigning for him in Fl today and Pa later this week.
I am a true Barack supporter but even i can acknowledge that his true political work experience is a little weak. But i still think he is a smart, strong, analytical man who makes strong decisions.
The Republicans are so busy trying to make Palin look qualified that they even put on her resume that she was the President of the school’s PTA.
This whole election is raising my blood pressure.
