I watched this clip of a referee colliding into South Carolina’s quarterback with a little skepticism. I’ve seen many accidental collisions between refs and players. But this contact didn’t look accidental to me. It sure looked like a deliberate tackle. The ref tracked the quarterback and then threw a shoulder block knocking him to the ground.
Maybe the ref had money riding on the game’s outcome? Or maybe he had flashbacks of his not-so-glory high school days riding the bench as a 3rd string linebacker. I think the NCAA should have a hard look at this tape.
