Video: T.I. On ‘Chelsea Lately’

A few of my loyal readers commented about this video yesterday but I didn’t get the chance to watch it until today. I’ve never heard of Chelsea, but she is very funny. She’s naturally hilarious meaning, unlike D.L. Hughley, she doesn’t have to convince us that she’s funny.

I do have one question though: why is it that T.I.’s Southern accent virtually disappears when he’s talking to white people? He’s not the only one either. A lot of these rappers suddenly get proper and downright respectful when they’re in the company of white folks. Should we be offended by that?

Situations just isn’t a flattering reference thats all…If he doesn’t want to answer the question, then when people ask he should simply reply “Im happy”, that would be touching…and Im sure if she is secure and knows he is referring to her being apart of that happiness she would be touched as well. Damn hell musta frozen over because I had similar thoughts when I first saw this *insert surprised face smiley*. I thought wow he sounds proper, and effiminent. It’s 1 thing to change it up for interviews, but when you only do it if the interviewer is White then yes I would be offended. Media is media so why not maintain the swag you have with Toure when talking to Chelsea? I’m just saying. I must admit I don’t know how he is when being interviewed by a Black person. I’m not a fan. ^^If what you say is true then good for him. I genuinely don’t know. Personally I don’t like hearing phrases like shawty and all that other ish continuously throughout an interview. Never heard of Chelsea, but that was entertaining. When he said he has 3 kids ( with Tiny) I thought he was counting their baby girl that passed away not her oldest. As far as the situation comment… um… that’s not how me and my hubby did it when we were dating, but we’re not entertainers. That may be something Tiny doesn’t mind, she may not see it the way others do. She may even have been back in the green room laughing. It’s not as if she’s going to break up with him now anyway. She’s been with this man for 6 (?) years and had 3 babies by him all with her maiden name so no point in her getting mad.
I’ve heard T.I. acknowledge Tiny in song before (Big Things) and I thought ‘Whatever You Like’ was probably kinda for her too when he said “My chick can have whatever she want, go in any store buy whatever bag she want”.

They don’t discuss they’re romantic life, never did. Never did they go into details about their wedding or whether or not they would even get married. T.I. and Tiny announced they’re engagment. . .release statements and sh!t like that. That’s the difference. Tiny is getting involve petty (sp?) drama with groupies, releasing statements about that, you never hear Jay and B do that.

And it’s not a poor choice of words, apparently, that’s what he calls Tiny, even in previous interviews.

I remember when we got engaged, my husband never referred to me as his “girlfriend,” I was his fiancee or wife – he stepped the status up a notch! And I loved it. I would think that women would want that.

Granted, it’s just a title and it doesn’t define the kind of relationship that you have with your significant other, but at the same time, if they don’t take it seriously when someone corrents it and you still say situation like Mz_magnificent1 pointed out, that’s a problem.
