New music from Beyonce titled “Roc”. It’s supposed to be an ode to Jay Z, but it was left off the I Am Sasha Fierce album. Probably because she stole the track and couldn’t clear the rights. Not that that ever stopped her from thieving the intellectual properties of other artist’s in the past.
This track is more of the same boring, yawn-inspiring drivel from Beyonce. But loyal reader London Linda, who sent me this video, raves about it.
london linda. i am confused at all of these tip dropping linda’s running amok on this blog.

Cute song….
I’ve come to the realization that “beyonce” is such a hard pill to swallow in the same token that “obama” is for african-americans
we are not used to seeing, nor comfortable seeing a young african-american woman who has everything; a successful career, a marriage, and family & friends who obviously love and support her, and not to mention a reputable public image and fans who also love and support her.
It’s no different from those who refuse to accept Obama as our first african-american president and continously seek to find fault with this man more visciously than any other elected president.
Many african-americans or blacks who refuse to classify themselves as such, although white americans do, have been brainwashed into believing the negative stereotypes that have been perpetuated in the media and spoon-fed to all of us since the beginning of time. And those who choose to defend this stereotypes and take joy in tearing their fellow “brother” or “sister” down with the nitpicking, brown nosing, crab in the bucket tactics are those who have to ask themselves why is that I scrutinize and critique my own people even more harshly than I do any other race even if in fact the other person has achieved the same success or are guilty of the same acts I accuse my brother and sister of? Brittney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, etc.
And please dont interpret my comment as stanning for beyonce or obama although I am a fan of both-the difference is I am capable of being “objective” and I don’t put labels on people or believe that every black person has to fit “my” image of what a black person is or should be
Anybody who has achieved such greatness in their personal or professional lives through perserverance and hard work through their own merit-gains my respect and admiration.
Nobody has to like beyonce or obama but to see someone from my race overcome so many obstacles in spite of racial stereotypes and prejudice-they deserve their props and what saddens me the most is that so many of our own people go on a “witch hunt” and take delight in trying to prove that they are not worthy of the attention or recognition they receive-
but in the same breath will praise baby mama’s like tiny and monica, why?? because they appear more down to earth or shall I say we can identify with them more-women who are having children by a man they are waiting to marry them? LOL-that’s why the hate for beyonce run so deep because many “black women” can’t fathom having it “all” their not comfortable with what this young black women represents nor her level of success- Who does she think she is? LOL
We reject obama & beyonce for the same reasons, they don’t fit our mold of “black” because of the level of success they have achieved professionaly & personally it makes us uncomfortable-there is no way that one of our own could possibly be that great!
We should be inspired & motivated by their success
&
“put a ring on it” is phenomenal not necessarily for the artist but the message that is being made & the audience it will reach-get married ! duh
WELL GOOD MORNING INTENSEMOCHA, *HELPING HER OFF HER SOAPBOX* SUCH ELOQUENT WORDS SO EARLY IN THE MORNING. I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID. YOUR WORDS WILL ROLL OFF A MANY OF BACKS IN HERE. NICE TO SEE SOMEONE WITH SOME COMMON SENSE AND LOGIC GOING FOR THEM. *BACK TO LISTENING TO ONCE IN A LIFETIME*
Is this the song to the milli beat?
I was on another site and saw a Beyonce post that was credited to LINDA. What are the odds. Is it possible that this Linda chick either works for the Bey camp and drop these stories all over the net. I would hope that she is @ least getting paid for this or she is a *cough*
Nice song.
*hand claps for intensemocha*
Well said…some people like to focus on negativity.
Good Morning SR Fam:
Hi Five IntenseMocha….I concur…buuuut…. I just got to work….I dont feel like doing a GotDamn thing work related and you have me reading this Essay using extra brain cells that I had no intention of using until tomorrow or Wednesday
I just love this song! I’m so happy for her and Jigga!
I think everybody deserves to feel this way about someone at least once in a lifetime – did I say this a great song?
We reject obama & beyonce for the same reasons, they don’t fit our mold of “black” because of the level of success they have achieved professionaly & personally it makes us uncomfortable-there is no way that one of our own could possibly be that great!
^^ i don’t agree with this at all.
LOL-
Some people agree some disagree-it’s just my opinion/observation
I would be interested in hearing what other explanation there are for why Obama and Beyonce receive such harsh criticism from other African-Americans
They are successful irregardless of what we say-measuring by all standards of success
please do tell why is it people don’t like them? and for what significant reasons? Other than reasons such as-he’s not black, he’s not for the black people, or she isn’t personable enough, she’s not a great actor/singer, she won’t let us up in her business?
Please do tell licia? I’m all ears…..
@ carameldrop
I was off since thurs, & I had a cup of coffee with french vanilla creamer this a.m. & my boss is on vacay
so forgive me for typing all of this on a monday
@Intensemocha Can you give example of people saying negative things about Obama because in my experiences people have been very positive and excited about him. Especially black people. Beyonce is a bit different. She is a pop star which is no way in comparison to the president of the usa. I understand you feel people are overly negative, but she’s still doing well. If you read a post about Bey, Rihanna, Madonna, Britney, even Alicia Keys it’s a lot of both positive and negative opinions. At the end of the day we do not know what any of these people do when they go home at the end of the day. The only person whose actions we should really care about is Obama, because he is the one elected to lead as our president. The rest are just entertainers, so who really cares?
….and I’m not saying who cares to excuse people who write mean, vicious things about people they don’t know. I’m just saying that the internet is full of crazies, especially on entertainment blogs. What can you do except ignore crazy comments or ignore blogs altogether.
@ shintrell
have you noticed sandra’s post regarding obama on this site alone? Many posters have noticed it as well, not just me.
and not sure if you have noticed this, but beyonce’s post one several different gossip sites always nearly reaches 300 to 400 comments and the majority of the comments are beyonce fans/stans vs those who can’t stand her-
I don’t mean any harm or pun-but where have you been?
i just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
@ Intense-. Ok, so I think most of your post should be directed at Sandra, because the way I understood it seemed as if you were speaking about people in general.
As far as Beyonce, where do we start? I think the problem lies with both the stan/fans and people who “hate” her. It always start with people giving their own opinions, then someone always takes it too far (on either side). It’s ok if people are fans of Beyonce, but it’s also ok if people are not fans of Beyonce. People on both sides can’t seem to comprehend that. Beyonce’s fans are just as guilty by putting down other artists. It’s ok for them to talk about other people like dogs, but when it’s bey it’s WWIII. So, I have realized that, but like I said people are crazy on the internet. Stans, fans, and haters alike. And like I said, it’s not just Beyonce. I don’t think it has anything to do with people not just being able to accept how “perfect” she is. And no matter how many babies Monica or Tiny have before a marriage some of the comments that are made are also vicious. People type things online that they would never say to these people in real life no ALL blogs including Sandra, Huffington Post, or Perez. So, back to my original point, it’s not that serious. Her album is #1 in the country and she sold almost 500,000 in a week. Somebody still likes her.
Well put shin.. Everything isn’t for everybody. & if ppl don’t like the negative post that Sandra prints why come here & read them? If you want all or majority positive Bey post go to a site that is dedicated to her. She has many.
I personally don’t even read what is printed here about Barak because I know how SR fells about him so what’s the point. What I need to know about Barak I get from CNN or Fox News. Not a gossip site.
@ shintrell
we embrace what we know and understand and we reject the rest
If that’s the response my post generated from you- okay I concur.
You obviously just skimmed and touched on the surface of my response-if you had really read and comprehended what I posted you would know that my post had very little to do with people liking or disliking celebrities and more to do with our own self-acceptance issues and how we tend to uphold some for the wrong reasons and condone others for doing right (accomplishment/wealth/success etc.) for all the wrong reasons
And trust and believe anything I say on-line I can say in person it’s all a matter of opinion and delivery/tact what is someone going to do/say to me that I couldn’t do/say to them in return?
And I’m not sure if your post had a point-for one nobody said it was that serious and for two I just stated my opinion, and like always whenever someone has a difference of opinion someone will make an attempt to spar, now that’s what isn’t that serious?
We all know some people like/dislike beyonce but it’s obvious you missed the entire purpose of my post-and to be quite frank I’m not surprised most people do.
oops condemn other for doing right
@iscream I agree. I skip the Obama posts also. @ Intense- I read those parts, but that’s why I asked for examples in my first post. Like I said, I see putting Obama on a pedestal, because he is POTUS. But as far as people tearing Beyonce down just because we hate ourselves, or don’t identify with “someone who has it all”, I don’t get that part. And I read the whole thing. That’s why it takes at least two to communicate. One person gives the message, the other receives. What is given and what is received is not always the same.
i love the song b is the shit
I wonder if this is the song she wrote and sang for him at their Wedding
