I just received an important warning of a malicious attempt to spread a virus /trojan using a popular industry executive’s gmail account.
The gmail account has been compromised. If any requests are made via email containing the text below sent from his gmail account, please contact him directly to verify (you’ll know who he is if you received the email).
The text in the body of the malicious email is as follows:
I found an amazing studio session from Keri Hilson. Do u know who is on the
left side of the picture?[link removed]
GET BACK AT ME…ITS IMPORTANT
I removed the link because it contains a .scr file (script file) that has already been downloaded 231 times by unsuspecting recipients of the email.
A script is an executable file that can contain hacking tools called trojans that are used by hackers to take control of individual computers.
If you received this email and you downloaded that file, you have downloaded a malicious trojan.
