Amid growing concerns about his tax problems, Sen. Tom Daschle withdrew his name from two White House gigs as secretary of health and human services AND White House health czar (whatever that is).

Do you think his conscience got the best of him? Or maybe Barack Obama glanced at his own dwindling poll numbers and broke out in a sweat before throwing Daschle up under the bus with the rest of his former associates.

I guess one tax cheat on staff (Timothy Geithner as Treasury secretary) is enough.
