In this video from last night’s Super Bowl, James Harrison runs for the longest touch down off an interception in Super Bowl history (100 yards). At the end of the run, watch as Larry Fitzgerald runs on the sideline for about 10 yards before coming back on the field and tackling Harrison. He even runs into one of his own players who is standing on the sideline.
Question: is that legal? I thought a player couldn’t run off the field and run back on and make a play? If Harrison had run off the field could he run back on and score the touchdown? I think the refs blew that call.
But I’m so happy that Tomlin got his Super Bowl win. He sure deserved that win. He is such an outstanding role model.
No football expert, but that was a great Superbowl. Exciting from start to finish. My blood pressure got a workout.
I’m so lost in the sauce. I though the Cardinals was a baseball team…
Sandra, when you gonna post on Lisaraye testifying against her whoremongering husband that fathered 2 children during their marriage?
The player that runs off the field(Has to be forced out) has to try and come back on the field and can’t be the first person to touch the ball………nothing illegal….
You owe me……now pay me……..
He is a great role model………Wow Sandra, never seen that side of ya!
I know that I missed out on winning $150 in a Super Bowl pool because the Steelers couldn’t make that damn touchdown (After TWO chances) at the end of the 3rd qtr! I’m still pissed.
Did anybody see the stories on Larry Fitzgearld and how his mother passed back in 2003? It was very good yet sad.
all i know is Larry Fitz is fine as wine… he can run up in me at any time
lol
But im still heated they beat my Eagles:(

Thanks for the explanation, but wasn’t he forced out? I saw someone bump him out and then he runs up the sideline and comes back on the field. It seems to me that should be illegal. It doesn’t seem fair to allow a player leave the field to avoid tackles and then come back on.
life isn’t fair sandra!
If the player wasn’t forced out of bounds or didn’t make an attempt to get back on the field as soon as possible, then it is illegal….but you can go out of bounds(Being forced out) come back in bounds and continue to play(just can’t be the first to touch the ball)
It was a GREAT GAME. The steelers had me nervous for a few minutes……talk about a game of up and down emotions. But it was awesome.
And I”m happy for Tomlin….and he’s a good looking brother. Its good to see Black coaches being sucessful in the NFL.
GO Steelers!!! I am not a steelers fan but since my teams were not there I was cheering for them. I adopted them for a day!!!!!!!!
sandra, i think you are thinking about the person holding the ball. harrison would not have been able to come back in.
I am too sad.. my AZ Cardinals played a good game though. I actually thought we had it for a minute too.. dayum.
I noticed the same thing and just knew that the referee would throw a flag on that but it was never mentioned by the refs or commentators. I most definitly feel that run out of bounds back in bounds was questionable.
Blown call or not it still would’ve been a touchdown…..The Cardinal’s Larry Fitz. ran out of bounds, came back in bounds to try and tackle Harrison….the play could have resulted in a penalty against Arizona, which would’ve been declined by Pittsburg, resulting in a touchdown….
Its not a blown call. Fitz is now pretty much made to be a defensive player since the interception has occurred. Harrison is in possession of the ball so no he couldn’t go out of bounds but Fitzgerald is attempting to make a play so the rules are a little different. He can’t be the first to touch the ball be he can try to save the touchdown. You’d usually see that rule come to play in a punting situation though.
