Despite reports to the contrary that Chris Brown is hiding out at his mother’s place in Virginia, and Rihanna has returned to Barbados, FOX 411 reports that both Rihanna and CB are still in the LA area.

The battling lovebirds were ordered to remain in LA by the LAPD until the investigation into their dust up last week is completed.

And so the couple waits, in separate accommodations, to see if the police or district attorney need to do more questioning about their wild ride on Saturday night that left Rihanna bruised and beaten, and Brown the object of much derision.

A source says, “Can you believe that Chris hasn’t even issued an apology? Three days and nothing.” Of course, a public apology might be thought of as admission of guilt. But still: Brown so far has not made wise decisions. [LINK]

But that’s not all, according to one industry insider, there won’t be enough security to protect CB when he shows up for court on March 5th.

The industry insider, who normally keeps his emotions in check, told me that Rihanna has made many friends on the west coast — mostly male — who are “sick to death” about what Chris did to Rihanna.

“Some of these industry cats have ties with the bloods… the Crips,” said the insider. “They wish they had been passing by at that exact moment when he attacked her. The outcome would have been much different!”

The insider dismissed my speech about violence begetting violence. He told me Chris Brown has already been tried and convicted in the court of public opinion.

“Watch the news coming out of LA on March 5th, he said. “Somebody’s going to f*ck him up, no doubt about it.”
