In Touch magazine has confirmed what some of us in the industry already suspected, that Usher didn’t know his wife was in Brazil undergoing a liposuction procedure. [LINK]
According to In Touch, Usher learned about the surgery the same day we all did. This explains why Tameka suffered a cardiac arrest on Friday (2/6), but Usher didn’t rush to her side until Saturday afternoon (2/7).
Tameka went to Brazil rather than having the simple lipo procedure performed here in Atlanta, because she didn’t want anyone to know.
Brazilian plastic surgery clinics and resorts offer absolute privacy for celebs and the well-to-do.
In the hours following news of Tameka’s botched surgery, one of Tameka’s friends told Sandrarose.com that Usher did not accompany his wife to Brazil because he didn’t approve of plastic surgery. He was happy with her the way she was.
Unfortunately, women like Tameka, who suffer from Body Image Disturbance issues are never satisfied with the way they look.
In their minds there’s always room for improvement.
Tameka would you quit it! You look fine, just need some exercise that’s all. I know i usually go off on you on this site, but it get’s real when someone almost lose their life. You got a pretty face and pretty skin…and any body issues can be worked out through exercise and diet. I don’t like ur azz, and i think you’re hella slick and a big azz fraud, but death is serious and forever, and you did nothing that wrong to deserve that…So stop it and leave yourself alone. Surgery is not worth dying for. Damn, you didnt even give yourself enough time to heal from child birth before going under the knife.
People forget that childbirth is very hard on the body, and it takes months to heal on the inside. Organs has to shift back into place after moving for months to make space for the baby. I wish women would consider this before going under the knife so soon. Just workout for 9 months to a year, then if you don’t like what you see, then consider surgery. I guess Temeka was gone try and be slick and go under the knife and make everybody think her slick azz just lost the weight right after the baby. I’m sure other celebs have done this and its been successful. It’s unnatural to walk around looking like you never had a baby 4 weeks after giving birth.
WOW, it makes you wonder what else she is keeping or kept from him?!?!?!? How do you go and do something like that and not tell your hubby?!?!? I mean eventually he would have found out…secrets are not good in any relationship! I would not be surprised if this marriage did not last…maybe they will go the Whitney and Bobby route and stay married just to show all of us “haters” that their marriage is real then resort to drugs to help them keep the charade up! I’m just saying…
Somehow I doubt Tameka is alone in this situation. Many people are quick to point the finger and lay blame in her path. The fact stands that many Black women are in fact unhappy with the current state of their bodies. The only difference is that Tameka has the financial means to do something about it. If most Black women had the finances to do so they too would run to the nearest Dr. for the a “tighten up”. I’m not saying that I agree with her decision but I certainly understand.
Now what if she’d lost her life for a secret lipo that she kept from her husband. Imagine the tragedy of that call to her husband from a doctor in Brazil? Some people don’t think things through. If it’s true that she didn’t tell him that’s a shame. A surgery in Brazil or anywhere is something that your spouse should be aware of.
Did she even try to work the baby weight off?
@4
I agree with you to a point but it isn’t just Black women, it’s women in general.
When will people realize that they just need to be happy with the body that God gave them. I never feel sorry for people when they end up with these blotched plastic surgeries b/c that is something that is not medical and not needed, it is a want. People need to stop trying to be perfect, and learn to pray and love themselves, then they would not have these body image issues.
@H Town I have proudly said I would have a lil nip tuck after giving birth. I will say I don’t know if I believe he didnt know she was having surgery. Just not buying that right now.
Tameka is over 35 and has pushed out 5 babies… even if she worked out with 10 girdles from now until kingdom come, I doubt she’d ever have her body back just as it was before the first one. So y’all stop saying, just work out, she already had some lower pooch action on an otherwise fit body, before she married Usher. Not everyone is going to be like Nicole Murphy and have a concave stomach after pushing out multiple children(though I suspect she’s had some lipo done too.)
If she wanted the surgery, I can see and support why, however it was foolish to undergo elective surgery so soon after a complicated child birth.
@6
you’re right, it isn’t just Black women – it’s a lot of women in general! It seems to be more acceptable in Hispanic cultures for the women to gain “baby weight”. They appear to be more comfortable in their skin than others.
In Tameka’s case she has a lot on her shoulders. She’s married to a Superstar Sex Symbol, she’s older than he is so she has a lot of eyes on her and understandably she feels the pressure to look a certain way.
On another note, it seems that this incident happened as a result of the anestesia, which means it could have happened if she was having her tonsils removed.
I say bullcrap. If a real celeb can get plastic surgery in secret there is no reason why a wife of Usher can’t just go to LA to get some work done in secret. Usher is famous but he is not Michael Jackson famous, especially since his last flop album. There are plenty of places in America were they will do your surgery and let you recover secretly
I don’t know Sandra. I’m not sure if she suffers from BID but I don’t think that her having liposuction automatically = BID.

I don’t think people realize how simple a liposuction procedure is. It is not complicated at all. The patient can go home the same day. Just because a woman had a baby 2 months ago that does not prohibit her from getting lipo done. The doctor is not cutting the abdomen open or rearranging any organs, lol. All the work is done through a tiny little incision.
i think she had some underlying condition because it is not uncommon for stars to have a planned c-section and while they are in there the have a lipo procedure done thru that same incision
I agree with the comments that I don’t think that Mrs. Raymond has a morphed image of her body. I believe most women, if they had the money to do so, would take the more immediate route of improving their bodies. I believe we all would pay for an instant fix, whether it be surgery or hiring a trainer for $100+ a session. If we had the dough we would do it.
On the other side of it, I venture to assume that Mrs. Raymond could have very well been motivated by the fact she is in the lime light, that she is an older woman competing in an industry, where young, tight, sexy, and small is IMPORTANT.
@ggouch, Tameka isn’t in any industry except domestic engineering. She better not be trying to compete with men for her husband’s attention either, she’s never going to get it.
Sandra you’re right about lipo being fairly routine, for a healthy person. Tameka did deliver that baby prematurely didn’t she, I don’t think she was in the best of health, and that’s why she didn’t need this procedure.

Just because you deliver a baby prematurely doesn’t mean you’re not in the best of health 2 months later. Lol. A liposuction procedure requires you to be well-hydrated, nothing by mouth after midnight, and be of sound mind and body to sign the waiver forms.
Sandra you are not doctor, she probably went to Brazil b/c an America doctor probably wanted her to wait 6 months or so. There is no such thing as a simple cosmetic procedure. Your advice is just as ill informed as your Obama posts
@Karaz!!!
flat-fucking-lining DEAD!! NOT the GAY RUMOR!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! LMAO!!!
My bad, she is not in the industry….directly!!! but love the domestic enginer title..That was priceless.
LMAO!!
Thank you Naima! The Brazilian doctor stated that Tameka had lied to him and said it had been four months – not the actual two months – since she had given birth. Sandra ain’t no da#n doctor and yes we all know liposuction is not a serious surgical procedure BUT it’s still a surgical procedure. Any procedure requiring ANESTHESIA is considered serious surgery.

I know Lipo isn’t complicated. That’s not the point I was making. The point I was making is that CHILDBIRTH itself, is very taxing on the body. Yes, it’s natural for women to give birth, but it still requires a healing time. Childbirth can be very traumatic on the body, and requires PROPER healing time. No matter how simple a surgery someone may elect to undergo post pregnancy, because you haven’t allowed your body to properly heal, you can have complications, because the body isn’t at it’s strongest after childbirth. Surgery is not natural, it’s not something the body is prepared for. It’s an invasion, especially cosmetic surgery. And we all know the risk for a completely healthy person, well it doubles when your body is compromised by either illness, childbirth, or trauma. Pushing out a baby, and having your body go through labor pains is alot on the HEART, whether you realize it or not..The heart is a muscle and can become exhausted. Now to have a baby, then go in for surgery where you’re put under anestetia can be hard on the heart; it can be too much to take in such a small window of time. Bottom line, there’s a reason why they tell you to not have cosmetic surgery for a period of time after having a child. And there’s a reason why they tell you to not exercise for a period of time after childbirth. Some people gotta learn the hard way, thinking they know their body and can predict it’s reaction. Well you don’t know..Tameka has now learned that lesson.
I’m not buying the whole Usher didn’t know about teh surgery. I think she shared her desire with him, he opposed it because of his view. She decided that it was important to her and she went.
I’m glad she is okay and that the children still have her around. I guess the girl had issues with herself. The blogs haven’t been good to her at all. I think they could not compromise on the situation forcing her to carry out her desire. You could tell a person you accept them as they are all day long. If they don’t see it in themselves it doesn’t matter.
If He didn’t know, I wouldn’t put it pass her. I bet you there’s alot things Usher don’t know about that involve her…LOL smh If she has free access to his dough, he ain’t gotta know
…until them bank statements start popping up…LOL
but It could be that he knew but was trying to avoid the MEDIA
It’s funny how everything they try to do blows right up in their face
