Hope and Change or smug arrogance?
According to TMZ.com and other reports, Barack Obama and his wife Michelle caught a private jet to New York last night to see a Broadway play before grabbing a bite to eat at an upscale West Village restaurant.
The only problem, Barack critics say, is that it’s the American taxpayers who footed the bill for the private planes that shuttled the Obamas back and forth (Air Force One got the night off). Obama sprung for the theater tix out of his own pocket.
Well, isn’t that nice of Obama? You know, to spring for the Broadway tickets and all, while stiffing American taxpayers for the cost of the pilots, jet fuel, extra staff and Secret Service agents — just so he could watch a Broadway play!
Meanwhile, GM is filing bankruptcy and shutting down 11 plants, thus throwing thousands of auto workers out of work and onto the unemployment line. This, at a time when unemployment figures are skyrocketing through the roof!
I hope the Obamas enjoyed their play.
