A friend of mine has a weirder sense of humor than I do. After telling him that I might be taking a trip to Hawaii over the Summer, he emailed me this image of a coconut crab that is indigenous to the Pacific islands.
He said it’s normal to see mammoth coconut crabs running loose in the neighborhood like stray dogs knocking over garbage cans searching for food scraps.
I told him, oh yeah? Well, I won’t be going to Hawaii then because if I see something like that walking down the street, I won’t survive to talk about my experience.
My friend says the crabs are harmless, but I don’t care. There are certain sights that my heart just can’t take. And seeing a crab the size of a garbage can is one of them.
EWWWWW! yea i would be running the other way also, that thing is huge
and until further review and research, hawaii’s off the list of places to visit.
I hate little roaches and flies and lizards. But that thing……..that thing made my heart go into my mouth. If I EVER saw that, ANYWHERE, I would have a heart attack and die immediately.
That does not look real, I will NOT be going to Hawaii thank you…
that is ugly
Sandra, I went to Maui and Kona two years ago and saw nothing but beauty. Please go, I promise you won’t regret it. This picture does give me the hebegebees though.
Yikes!!!!
Shoot, don’t make me go hunting in Hawaii! You got my mouth watering over here. The Bird is a true blue, born and bred Jersey Shore girl. I eat dungeness crabs or lobster at least once a month and way more when I’m actually employed. That crab better not let me catch his azz on the street. I’ll have some water and Old Bay waiting for him.
@ Bird, I immediately thought about my aunt saying something like that. She is from Florida and she eats some type of shellfish once a week. She would be behind you with an onion and some shrimp to throw in the pot!!
Well it looks like that one would be pretty good with some garlic and butter……I don’t know bout yall but…LOL!
Im just saying
:lmao: @ Bird… why do I believe you though?
scratch hawaii off my list!
I FEEL U Ms. Sandra but I LUVS me some seafood …

THAT’S a camp-fire meal Right There
OMG!!! that thing is a freak of nature!!!
@ 1st I thought this wasn’t real until I actually googled “coconut crab” and they had pics of even bigger crabs than this sucka. YIKES!!!!!
i dont know what part of hawaii THATs in but it dmn sure wasnt in honolulu when i went. google it cuz the chances of those being in hawaii is very unlikely! bora bora..thats another story!
