I Antonia ” Toya” Carter have been disturbed but silent about the recent performance that took place at the BET awards, which including my only child Reginae Carter and her friends joining her father Lil Wayne on stage while he performed his new single “Every Girl”. I will be the first to admit that the father and daughter relationship should not have been reunited on stage for any particular reason while this song was being performed. Wayne is a very loving, caring, and devoted father and I truly feel that the act was unintentional due to the fact that he was trying to make his little girl happy by letting her be on stage with her father. Once again, I do not of any degree think it was a wise decision and I truly do apologize to all that this may offended and most importantly the children that watched this performance. I feel we all have learned a lot from this situation and pray that the viewers will allow these children to move forward with their lives and not held accountable because they are innocent.
I miss the days when we didn’t know EVERYTHING about EVERYBODY!!!

I thought we were done with this. If there really was a need for her to put this out there then people are worried about the wrong damn things. Bad timing… ok, let it go. People do it all the time. It could be worse. NEXT!!
She needs a publicist. I could barely understand that statement and it is ridiculous in any event. Wayne’s a doting dad huh? How many days out of the year does he see his child? And what gave Wayne the idea that rapping about screwing every woman was a song that the child even needed to hear let alone be dancing to in front of millions? Is this the kind of music this child is exposed to regularly?
I think Toya needs to just shut up and let it die down and try to protect her child a little better, not spoil her when she throws a tantrum. That’s the time to pop that azz, not reward.
And Sandra, during today’s Obama bashing post can you please mention the latest GOP leadership trend of wearing their racism on their sleeve? Please. What’s up with the latest Klanswoman who has taken off her hood, Audra Shay?

I agree Bird, she should of had a publicist help with the statement but I like that she is aknowleding the fact that is WAS wrong and will probably not let something like that happen in the future. I like her anyway and she’s a young mom hell I’m not a young mom I make mistakes I would hate to half to publicly apologize for them.
I’m more concerned about the length of that child’s skirt. How old is she?? It looks “ok” from the front, but the back has to be a different story.

@Bird Wayne spoke on his daughter during the Katie Couric interview and he said her mama will put her on a plane to get to him at a moments notice. This was not his best moment as a father but I do believe he has a good relationship with his kids overall. I think he is trying to break the cycle since his father was a dead beat so he says.

@Bird how about she learn English for herself, so she can write coherent, well punctuated sentences? Ugh, even if he was just trying to make his daughter happy, she as a mother should have the decency and presence of mind to put her foot down and say not my child, not on this song. But alas she’s just a hoodrat, apparently they don’t know better Herve Leger dress or not.

I FINALLY caught this show. It was okay. I kept thinking does Toya & her mother think she is going to be the next Frankie?
Tiny and her family came across as close. & mama look like she’ll f a bitsh up.
I agree with the comments. Toya just let the story go away on its own. By talking about it. You are giving these blogs a reason to bring it back up.
Why does everybody try to defend that damn action. I don’t give a sh!t if he is a loving father. Any person with some damn sense should have known that they should never put their 12 year old daughter dancing on stage to that song. Hell if I had a 24 year old daughter who wants to be a video vixen I would have a problem with her being in the video period.

I loved the Katie Couric interview! I have always thought of Wayne as intelligent and that interview proved it to everyone as far as I am concerned. Not all drug addicts or rappers are ignorant. I don’t doubt that he loves his children, we all do. That alone doesn’t make us good parents. For Toya’s part I appreciate that she clearly worked very hard not to sound ignorant in her statement. She just doesn’t have the writing skills to pull it off apparently.

Sorry Keely107, I totally don’t agree with your statement because what you are saying is that even if it is of bad moral character it should be able to be put out and accepted. Just turn your head. We complain about how we are a certain way. Women crying about be degraded, etc. but yet you still want the videos. If cops beat our ass for no reason your answer would be “Stay away from the cops then”, If your employer, sh!ts on the employees, your answer would be “Stop working there”.
